- Andrea replies to SashaNo, but I recall my 8 year old doing something of the sort...there's no way an 8 year old is able to give informed consent for the charges!!!
- stopscammerI got charged for 9 messages ($45) which I never received. I asked Fido to provide me the proof when these messages were sent. They said they don't have track of the message. If they don't have track of the service I supposed to pay, why should they charge me and forward my money to the scammers? I told Fido to block any third party message. They said they will do and I shouldn't receive any bills of third party message in the future.
- BWH240Same thing here, MDK Media is sending message and charging cell phones. Brank new phone new phone number and right away is started to send text message, now we have charges that we never signed up for.
Rogers should be assamed of themselfs for allow third party charges with no explainations.- Caller: MDK Media
- markI called the number to cancel this service that I didnt even know I had subscribed to 3 months in a row, every time they say it canceled but still the following month I have a nice charge on a internet phone line.. They say I called from that number and send text.. **BULL CRAP*** the number aint even with a cell, I have nothing where i would be able to call from, the number is just a internet line.. so this time I read the forum, and I did what others have done, I called pressed in the info, hit 1 to confirm number then hit 9 to go back to main menu, then 1 to speak with representative...
They said I should receive a check in the mail in a month, takes 10-14 business days to prosses.. I hope I get the money. If not I will be filling a complaint with my credit card company. Since the internet is billed directly to my credit card company. HOpefully something gets done about this scamming company.. like FREAKING PEOPLE just stealing from so many people...- Caller: tremor media
- Tam replies to CCTS nextDid you receive any cheque at all? I was told the same (on October 14) and so far (Nov, 2) nothing...
Rogers CC tells me to call them again
And, btw, I am not on a contract with Rogers, so I called to cancel the line, and then they told me they can put a block on this line, for all 3 parties...
first time I hear anything can be done about it. Best to stay as far as possible away from these contracts, so one can walk off anytime u want - BillI got charged $5.00 per message for a total of $25.00 on my Rogers bill today. I called Rogers to complain. The Rogers rep. told me to call the third party and deal with them directly. The Rogers rep talked over me as I tried to give her my side of the story. I don't use text so I told her to block all incoming and outgoing text messaging. She told me that it couldn't me done. Then she told me that even if texting was block and the third party sent me a message that I wouln't receive it but that Rogers would still have to pass along the charges to me anyway. It doen't make any sense whatsoever.
- Clayit turns out a company called Tremor Media sent IQ crap apparently to my iPad account with Rogers and the only way this was discovered was because Rogers was calling me to tell me I had an account in arrears; an account I had no idea existed. To their credit, Rogers reversed the $60 owing on the account (as they should) because based on the set-up, Rogers is reselling what appears to be fraudulent services to unsuspecting cellular accounts. I too, registered a complaint with CCTS http://www.ccts-cprst.ca/

- Charlene replies to René TremblayHi there,
Did you ever receive a refund from them? I am out almost $100.00 and cannot get hold of a live person... - Gary| 1 replyThis toll free number is associated with a company called Mobile Messenger www.mobilemessenger. (note that they did not call me, but I called them).
My Rogers phone bill had $20 charged for "24659 Genius Inspiration" - 4 SMS events at $5 each. This TF number is also apparently associated with more than a dozen other stupid gaming, horoscope and IQ messaging subscriptions. The funny thing for me was that this new phone was turned off and a box in my closet for a week as it was a gift for my daughter Christmas day. Maybe I have closet gremlins that like to text. I have my own phone and did not subscribe to anything on the new phone.
Just like others reported, Rogers customer services said they couldn't credit the amount and that I would have to call this 3rd party company for a refund.
I called this number. The only way to proceed is by entering your cell number that you want charges to stop on. Then press 1 to speak to a customer rep. I did so, and with no questions asked, he stated I would receive a cheque for $20 in 3 to 4 weeks. I provided my address.
I'll report back when I get my refund.- Caller: Mobile Messenger

- Stephanie replies to CCTS nextHi,
I just went through the same process - I'm wondering if you actually did get the cheque in the mail? I'm really hoping that I didn't get scammed into providing someone with my mailing information.
Please please let me know that you got refunded - Im a victim tooJust realized that texts coming from 59785 to my cell that I never subscribe cost $2 per text. Who is stupid person who will sunscribe on those "s" trivia for a fee of $2, Im not interested even for a penny. Fido, Rogers etc you should protect your customers from this evil scam syndicates. If you really care for your clients you should have a moral obligation to inform your customers that those messages are not free and not coming from the mobile provider. If banks can do it when a questionable use of credit card or withdrawal is happening and right away they call their customers why not the phone providers do that as well. Or maybe our dear phone providers have also a cut from this scam. Very frustrating. I'm going to get my refund they must give it to me otherwise Im not going to stop. I'm sure there is a government agency who looks for the consumerr rights, they should be aware of these kind of scam.

- KhethiweI fee soooooooo violated with this. I have charge of $215 on my FIDO bill and I don't know how in my right mind I could have signed up for this. I don't drink or smoke anything - I could I have done this in my right mind.
Also, FIDO how could they possibly be accepting charges from anywere into my bill - now my phone will be disconnected because I don't know where to get $215 plus my regular cell bill paid for this!
Guys what can I do to get reimbursed for this?- Caller: No name

- Iris DeaconI have also been getting charged by Tremor Media and Playphone. I called Rogers who were no help at all. This is a disgusting situation that Rogers is allowed to charge for 3rd Party Companies when peiople have not subscribed. Are they in colusion with them, I may ask? When I had my Bell Phone I did not receive Random charges. I have received charges for Playphone and Tremor Media, since May and now we are in August. Rogers just advise call the 3rd Party, which I did but I am still being vharged. How do you stop them apart from cancelling the Contract with the provider Rogers.

- Iris DeaconI want this Service to Stop. I hold Rgers responsible for this. 1866 568 6203 and 188 846 6939.

- Hotyoga replies to DerekI am really dismayed to see the dates of these comments when I just received my very first Rogers bill and am encountering the exact same issue. Shameful. I will be following the same recourse. Thank you for including links for the appropriate avenues. I already feel thoroughly annoyed at all the time I am going to have to waste on this.
- DFI also got charged $10 by Termor Media. I tried to dispute it with Fido, but they said they can't do anything about it and I have to call the number on my bill to unsubscribe (1-888-846-6939)...but all that did was take me to an automated system asking me whether I wanted to unsubscribe. So I ended up sunsubcribing the service and called up Fido again to block any third party services.
If you guys want to get reimbursed for your charges, call 1 800 416 6129. The company is called Mobile Messenger (mobilemessenger.com)...and these guys manage the billing for theird party services/scams.
They were willing to reimburse my $10, but they will only send it through as a cheque and you will need to provide full details (name/address). I didn't want this company to have my info, so I just let the $10 go...but if you were one of the people who got charged in the hundreds of dollars, you might want to look into it.- Caller: Fido
