I also got a call from Rothman Mediation Services. They were threatening me with a felony over an unpaid payday loan. Funny thing, I didn't even take out a payday loan. They gave me a Noon deadline to pay them $1400 or I would be served at my place of employment. They also left a message on my parents answering machine saying I needed to call them back because I'm facing "legal action". I filed a complaint with consumerfinance.gov.

Im sorry to inform you but Rothman Mediations is just that a Mediations dept who is part of the Network. And I believe the tape recording of you admitting to taking it out was already forwarded to the affiliate who authorized an option of mediations as opposed to dealing with a Judgment. Most people who go online and seek refuge in websites as this are just looking to ruin the name of a reputable company.  So as it stands you are the only one calling our office and harrassing us. We have filed a motion to deny your mediations.

Isn't it against the law to discuss a debt with anyone except those authorized to discuss it? i.e.; NOT post it publicly online?

Between this and the complaints of saying your company is going to serve/sue people, you're not looking very legit. At all.

Paralegals post threatening messages online now? Guess it's cause the government is shutdown. Paralegal is breaking so many laws. Damn son.

In the past week, I have received no less then 8 calls from Rothman on my cell phone.  They are looking for an Elizabeth.  I have told them they have the wrong number and stop calling me.  They state, SHE wrote down this number as an alternate contact.  I told them, she's an idiot then!  This is not her number!

I called them back to tell them to stop calling.......the lady that answered wouldn't even listen to me and said, I know you know Elizabeth!  I do not, as I told her at least 10 times and she says......I'm lying and they will get her anyway and promptly hung up on me!  I called back again and said, some lady hung up on me and wouldn't listen at all.....but this new person wouldn't listen either and yet again hung up on me.

I blocked their number from my cell phone, so hopefully, these calls will stop!  FRUSTRATING!!!!

I like the way they say "your name and Social Security Number" but they fail to leave a name. The number is blocked from cell phone as well. What a bunch of idiots.

Rothman Mediation services is currently being investigated by Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, make sure you send a complaint online! I will be suing them for harassment, I saved all their messages for evidence.

Hey I did the same thing. That's the best way to handle this by filing complaints.

Got a call this morning from a contracted process server, told me she was with the state and she would be out between 2 and 4 to server papers on me.  She told me I should call (first she said her, (oops), then she said I meant (yeah right) call 888-847-0170 number before she got there to take care of this.  Off course the number SHE was calling from was blocked (I saw that the number that called just before her was the 888 number ).  Well, I got on line I found this http://discovermountainairnm.com/?page_id=176  CHECK THE TOLL FREE NUMBER.  LOL Waited around for her to show up?  Guess what?  She was a no show.  Checked online for any court filing NOTHING.  What a joke.  

Hi they threatened me as well with felony charges & coming to my home and work if I didnt pay them & I would face legal action. Did you pay them anything? Out of fear i did may an initial payment however i spoke with an attorney Merritt Webb that told me not to pay them another dime because i wasn't aware that check loans are ILLEAGAL in my state of NC. Hi I received same message last week from Elizabeth with my social and my address saying she would serve me with papers if I didnt call her or Rothmann but her number was blocked so i couldnt have called her back anyways, but the ironic thing is I had already called them when they left a threatening voicemail.

This lovely company left me a vm. Called them back just to be threatened. They even threatened my family and child. I would DARE them to ever contact me. Called my AG office. It's on.

1 888 847 0770  left me a VM message.  They were calling from a restricted line and left the phone number to return a call.  it was a Adranne Peterson stating that she worked for a "legal courrior service" and wanted to know where I would be tomorrow so she could bring the paper work for me and that I needed a valid picture ID.  If I didn't call back she would contact the plantiff and let them know that I was uncooperative.   It is -10 in MN where I live.  Common up!!  I think it is a new scam debt collectors are trying to get people to pay.  Same thing happended to me a couple of weeks ago with another company.  I waited, they never showed and I haven't heard from them since.

Opps typo with the number calling from  from message above it was 1 888 847 0170.  :/
