They called me to looking for my son threatening us if we didn't respond today.

I keep getting this call from rothman mediation services threatening me about a supposed pay day loan thats not paid ive had payday loans and all paid for

so many calls to me and my son please do something about it it is so scary

Was called several. Not a legit co. Sent certified letter om 11/29 never claimed and was the address of sec of state address. Letter rerturned 1/17. All you need is to talk to them and you know they are not legit. Do not let them scare you and file a complaint.

My mother received a phone call from "Rothman Mediations" claiming to be attorneys working to settle a matter with a debt I owed.  The contact information they gave here was 716-213-6954 and the website rothmanms.com where I was able to find the toll free number 888-847-0170.  When I called I was transferred to "Mr. Rothman" himself who threatened me with "Malicious intent to defraud over the internet" and told me that they had affidavits from my bank with specific dates showing funds received, taken out then bank accounts closed.  I did use the payday loan company that he referenced were pushing the charges, however, when I called the payday loan company the information was completely different and they stated they never press charges and gave me the name of the company who would have purchased my account if it had indeed gone delinquent.  Rothman refuses to send an actual bill, only a statement offering mediation with payment due the same day.  When I told him that I wasn't paying anything especially not without a bill and I was advised not to even talk to him b/c it was a scam he told me "I'll see your ass in court."  So professional.  I reported them through consumerfinance.gov

My sister called me in a panic. Seems Alan from Rothman Mediation has told them they were about to take charges on me for Wire to Wire transfer fraud because I defaulted on a payday loan from a company Citizens bank funded. I called back this Alan and was told a 800.00 loan is now 4326.00 due to their fees and interest and because I didn't give them half of this money. He then went on to tell me he had my picture (so does twitter, facebook etc. I don't hide) and the charges they intend to file on me. Supposedly someone is to be here in the morning to serve me a summons of course a cop will be escorting them for their protection. I will now have to go to criminal and civil court they said. When I told them I would have to get a lawyer and fight it, he got mad and screamed at me, said I wasted his time. I meant a public defender if they took a warrant out on me. He got crazy. I hope they will stop calling my dad now. I really didn't know defaulting on a payday loan could result in criminal charges in NC. I got behind and couldn't make the payments.

Ignore 'em.  This is a total scam.  No private person can "take charges" against anyone. No private person can "get a warrant" on you.   You can't be arrested for civil debts, unless it's child support or something like that,   ordinary debts are civil matters.   These slimy people are trying to squeeze money out of you.  Basically it's a form of extortion.  You should report it to local attorney general or police.

Ignore 'em.  This is little more than a scam .  They are trying to basically extort money from you.  Complain to your local attorney general or police.

I'd advise everyone to record the conversation and post it on Youtube if the caller gets abusive.

The only way anyone is going to stop their abusive practices of threatening people with criminal prosecution (which they can't do, legally) in order to settle civil debts, is to record the conversion and put it up on Youtube.  I'd sure as hell do it.  Meantime anyone whose been subject to their abuse should notify the NY Attorney General.   If enough Youtube videos go up, then the NY Attorney General would have to take action.  These characters have to be shut down!

I got a call today from Rothman Mediations. They told me they are going to send a warrant for my arrest and I would appear before a judge if I don't pay this payday loan they say I had. They called my Supervisor and left message with her telling her they are going to take legal actions aganist me and told my mom the same thing. These crazy people needs to stop this. Calling around telling lies on people. That lady Liz Cochen called my parents and supervisor. After I called bk to talk to her and i told her I wasnt paying she then transferred me to that rude man and boy he got head over hills when I told him I didnt have no money and I dont remember a loan. He went crazy. He started yelling at me and just kept talking about the police and going to jail. After I got tired of listening to his crazy tail I hung up. These people need to stop this. Even though its tax season you dont have to try to get our hard earned money.

I received a call from Mr Jackson stating he was from the check fraud division and I need to call him back immediately or I was going to jail. after the first call I received I called them back & gave them my bk attorney info & told them I was in the middle of bankruptcy tbut hey still keep calling my phone and leaving threatening message

My daughter got a phone call from this place the number is 18888470170 and said i needed to contact them before the next day or i was going get a summons at my door they are suppose to call me next day Im puttiny them straight when talk to them Im tired of these scam people

I also have received at least 10 voicemails regarding an unpaid check,which is odd since I write only one check a month.
My bank would certainly have contacted me if there was a problem.
I took on Capital One and AT&T re: way more legit issues and won both times.
So Rothman et al if you think that I'm a fool you'd better start up another ENRON.

Rothman Mediation also called me and when I said to mail me the information so I can give it to my Lawyer the man cussed me out.....So I called back later and the man said no one in there talk's like that and hung up...

These guys crack me up! Life must be sad to take on a low life business like this idiot.  This is not the days of the mob like they talk.  Well actions speak louder than words! If you have court papers for me? Then serve them. I am easy to find being a county sheriff.  Otherwise shut the hell up stop calling. All recent voicemails have been fwd to the l.a.district attorney. Fyi my bank account has only ever been used for direct deposit. I have never taken a payday loan and have not written a check in almost 7 years!  

This is a number that bothers me 3 times every day. Mr. Jack***. ..I mean Jackson started telling me about a bad check regarding a payday loan, which is illegal here in NC. He told me that we could resolve this matter if I give my bank acct info. He wouldn't let me say one word. So I hung up....He called right back and ask me why my rude a** hung up and told me that he would send authorities to my work place to take me in, I also told him if he was legit to mail me some paperwork...I told him I wanted to ride shotgun and my rude a** hung up again....Haven't bothered him but one last time and let him know that if some fake law enforcement showed up at my workplace. ....The United States Post Office....He better be ready to take a ride.
