- kaye replies to jpjonesinfact this is a suntrust number , i happen to be an employee in this department. if you get a call from this number , it means you are late on you credit card.this is a large bank that we are talking about, mortgage, business credit card consumer credit card, online banking and the list goes on, no one person in suntrust will know all these numbers
- AnnThe people who are writing post that the calls are from Suntrust are part of the scam. I called Suntrust and it's a 100% a scam. A bank will NEVER call you and ask you to give out personal info like a social security number.
- Don replies to LVV| 1 replyI received a call also but have no account with Suntrust. Called the number it is legit but they could find no account under my name in their system. I think it could possibly be someone calling and leaving the number so that I will call it and see that the number is legit. Then they might call back later and I will think they are legit. The guy who left the message knew my name but was very abrupt and unproffesional
- Who ElseNEVER GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION, IF THE BANK IF CALLING YOU THEY KNOW YOUR INFORMATION; IF IT IS A SCAM THEY ASK FOR INFORMATION. NEVER EVER EVER GIVE OUT ANYTHING INCLUDING THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF YOUR SOCIAL. OTHERWISE, YOU ARE A MORON.
And the person posing as a bank employee can come down here and kiss my a$$ if they think I'm going to give out anything. You want a debt paid, prove I owe you something and prove who you are beyond a shadow of a doubt first. FYI, anyone can - sarah replies to DonHi. I work for Sun Trust Bank in collections. Typically if you call back and they can't find an account in your name they were skip tracing trying to find another customer. They search for numbers that at one point was a valid contact # for someone else. It happens quite often, we use search engines like Accurant, Innovis, and others. So, it is a legit call just not for you. At some point your number was coincidentally someone else # too.
Hope this helps..
Sarah - Fed UpI keep getting these calls and they want to speak to my husband who is in a nursing home. I explained to them he was unable to speak to them for this reason and I do all his banking as I have the power of attorney. They actually wanted me to fax them the POA. I went to my local ST bank and explained the entire call. They told me to tell the caller next time to contact them with any questions about the POA.
I received another call about 10 minutes ago and explained to them if they wanted any info to call the ST bank in my town and they would be happy to speak with them. The woman got very irate and stated she would call back again and again until she got what she wanted. I told her 'no you won't because I'm blocking your calls' and hung up. Tomorrow I'm calling the bank and giving them this number and putting an end to this hopefully.- Caller: 888-893-1773
- JeffD| 2 repliesYes, this is SunTrust - their credit card collections dept. You can call them back on this number, and you can give them your mailing address rather than last 4 of social for verification. Not a scam.
- Caller: SunTrust Bank
- Call type: Debt collector
- PhilI received on Friday. I am not sure who was calling .So , be careful !!
Phil- Caller: Not Sure
- FactFinder| 1 replyCalls from 888-893-1773 are from a scam operation. If you receive a call from this number, check your credit report for suspicious activity and potential identify theft, then call Sun Trust Bank at 1-800-786-8787 and ask for the Fraud Assitance Center. Ask them to check if anyone has attempted to open a credit card account in your name.
These scammers try to obtain credit cards in your name, and when they are denied they begin calling you to get more of your personal information (i.e., the last four digits of your SSN, the number of another credit card you own, or your checking account number). DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION. Check your caller ID, and just don't answer these calls. If you don't have caller ID and answer a call from this scam outfit, hang up on them.- Caller: Sun Trust Bank
- Call type: Prank
- FactFinder replies to JeffD| 1 replyNo, they are NOT Sun Trust's credit card collections department. When you call them back on this number, they answer that they are Sun Trust to protect the scam. If you give them your mailing address, or last four digits of your SSN, you've just handed them more information about yourself that they will use to pose as you when they try to obtain credit in your name.
- Suntrust customer| 1 replyYou people are such Dorks! It's Suntrust Bank, not Al Quaeda!
- me| 1 replySuntrust called bc i didnt pay my credit bill, they took payment and did not reort being late to my credit report.

- Bevann replies to a SunTrust Bank employeeI receive several calls from this number the caller ask for the last four of my social, Sometime the caller is Sun Trust Bank and another call is for husband "Personal Business". I am not stupid to give an unknown caller my personal information, my husband and I do not have an account or any association with SunTrust Bank. This is borderline harrassment, the calls comes in early morning and disturb my sleep and several times throughout the late and as late as 8;30PM, today the caller was very rude. Why is this call made to my nuumber?
- BevannI receive many unwanted calls from this number several times a day, with claims that it was SunTrust Bank, other times for my husband refused to leave a messages for him instead tells me it is a very personal matter. Since my husband and I do not have any business or association with SunTrust Bank I would like to know who owns this phone number and is being a royal nuisance.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- FRAUD ALERTThe number is fraudulent - not an actual bank. This is a scam - do not provide any information whasoever.
- Caller: Phishing Fraud
- GW n VA| 2 repliesCorrect to be cautious. However, check your most recent SunTrust Credit Card Statement and you'll see a past due notice and a request to call the exact same Customer Service Number. It is on your SunTrust Statement. It is their attempt at keeping you from being reported for being over due. I missed a 10 dollar charge and this saved me. So, verify and then return the call.
- Caller: Suntrust Customer Service
- jackie KCall comes every day, at least once, usually more often. Not from SunTrust, we don't bank there and that would be so unprofessional, it would definitely cause customers to flee.
If they are surfing using a computer dialing service, we are doomed to forever being disturbed by this caller.
