Seems this scam has been going on for years. Has anyone else bothered to report it to the fCC?  I realize they are limited in what they can do, but for something going on this long.....

I received the text message from 90000800040 that my password had been changed and to text *611 if I hadn't changed it.  Must be a scam.

611 is a Verizon number, but it is a scam. I just can't figure out what the message sender hopes to gain.

My daughter received a text from  this number at 3:15 a.m. stating that my secret question and answer have been established or changed.  If you feed that you've received this in error, please call customer service (we share a plan, but she does not have administrative privileges; she has never logged into the account).  I did call Verizon Wireless and they verified that someone tried to access the account during the night.  They had me delete the account and set up a new one.

    VZW.COM IS NOT VERIZON
vzw.com IS NOT Verizon's website! Do not give them your information, you are handing stuff over to a crook.
Verizon's real website is verizonwireless.com . Their customer service department's number is +1(800)922-0204 (Found on Google and on verizonwireless.com). In today's age anyone can fake being a trusted company. The only way the crooks will stop is if people stop falling for their tricks.

Got the same call two days ago. Called my carrier after the message said I had two international minutes on my account. The number was 900-080-4000. (typo)Then they put in 900-800-4000. Most likely a scam according to my carrier.

    Telemarketers Nightmare
This is a LEGITIMATE TEXT from Verizon Wireless.

And I thought that I am paranoid,  some of the reports I think that they are wearing a tinfoil cap.
But those people should already know that HSA, FBI, NSI and North Korea, Russia & China's secret agencies
already know everything about you because they all monitor EVERYONE's  cell phone activity. I know this because of the black helicopters that hover over me daily.

It is an informational TEXT to inform you that your bill is ready.
If you don't have Verizon Wireless and you receive a text from 9000-8000-4000, someone is Spoofing and Phishing.

However,  it is a legitimate text number from Verizon Wireless if you are a customer.

    Also,  go. vzw.com / mybill
is a LEGITIMATE Verizon web address to pay your bill.
If you click on it it takes you to Verizon Wireless,  your account,  that's the mybill part of the address and you have to sign in to access your account info.
