Hooo there's a sucker born every minute.

Just got a call from 902567-8434 saying he was from the IT depart ment and that my computer had a virus because the tornadoes in Alabama had done something to the satellites.  Heavy accent, lots of calling room noise in back ground.  Wanted me to go on the computer and do a few things that he told me and that would fix the virus.  Hang up fast on this one.  It's a scam!

My husband recieved answered the phone...a puzzled look...I overheard...Computer virus...etc etc...I motioned him to pass the phone to me.... I HAD JUST FINISHED READING ABOUT THE SCAM going on in my province....I thought I would play along...not like it's been the 1st time...
The thick-accented Indian speaking man....identified himself with an (inaudible) IT Company and said my PC was sending out VIRAL EMAILS...and he needed to show me exactly what they were and was going to help me fix my PC...He asked if I was main user of the PC in my home-I said YES.....I spoke very slowly...and sounded quite dumb actually...lol...
He asked me to turn on my PC and let him know when my PC was opened... I did.....and thern he told me to go to the RUN menu....I cracked up and thought...WHAT a sin..there are people who REALLY follow through with this NUT....
When I opened my PC I said..OK..ready...he said..now go to the RUN ICON....I said,,,RUN?,,he said yes...I will tell you something to enter there..,,,I said...DO you think I am fukkin stupid? Do you really think I am gonna fall into your little scam [***]??.. Don;t call back here ever again you idiot....and I am telling every person I can about your little stupidass scam.......and calling the Police ...I have the tele number..but guess what???? ...we are sorry...but the number you  have dialed...blah blah

Just got a call.  Heavy accent.  Between the accent and a screaming two year old I could barely understand the dude.  He said he was from something incomprehensible IT department and that they were receiving trouble reports from the ports on my computer.

I just said it sounds like BS and hung up.  It would have been fun to spend a few minutes to see what sort of crazy pseudo technical babble would have been spewed out.

Received a message from this company? telling me that they were getting messages from my computer downloading to their server. I didn't catch the man's name but when I asked him for his social security number he said, "6565". I hung up and they tried to call back. Refused the call.

Just got a called - he gave me the same speech he seemed to have given everyone else on this form... he was quite rude and yelled at me when I politely asked him to remove my name and number from his calling list.  However he just kept yelling 'I'M NOT TRYING TO SELL SOMETHING!!" in his very heavily accented voice.  So I again, and not so politely the second time time, told him to remove my name and number from his system and to never call again, then hung up.  So annoying and such a scam.

Some idiot called and tried to convince me that there was a major virus attack in my area.  I told him he was full of crap.  He asked why he would call if there wasn't a problem.  I played along for a bit until I got bored.  I told him to give up and get a real job and hung up.

We got the same call, same story; asked for my husband by name.  Husband played along a while, asking him which computer, telling him we had several.  The man said insistently that all might be getting infected as they spoke.  My husband asked him for a callback number so he could have "our IT security team call you for details" and the guy gave a landline number in Monrovia, CA.

I just received a call from this number telling me my computer is infected. He was calling my company number, and we have a technical team to support any of our computer problem. I just hung up on him no believing one word he said.

Accented voice said he wanted to about my computer. I hung up

rec'd a call fromt his number.  loud rap music was playing before some "kid" answered with "HELLOO??".  hung up.  ID said sydney, NS as well.

just rec'd a call from them. told me he wanted to talk to me about my computer. i told him i was 87 years old and did not have one, he hung up.

Same thing....a guy called said his name was Kevin. I could tell my his accent that was NOT his name. He told me he was calling about my computer. I said which computer, he said the one hooked to the internet. I knew immediately this was not legit, especially since I have MAC's & they rarely have virus issues etc. I asked where he was calling from, he said out home office is in India. I told him he was wasting my F-ing time with his [***] call and not to call me again & hung up.

I called the State Consumer Prot Agency to report this #. She logged it and also have me the # to the Do Not Call Registry 888-382-1222 (you have to call from the # you are registering)

Got a call from Login4speed. Said my computer had virus's found on it. If he knew that then he would know its name and basic configuration. Which he did not. Said he had my IP. 192.168.0.1 - knob - that's traditionally a routers internal IP. Told him nice try and hung up.

3:30 PM a call from 902-567-8434 NOVIA SCOTIA PEI was on my caller ID. Message machine had a very confused heavily accented woman on the other end. By reading all the other reports, I am sure this is not the end of it. I live in NE Oregon.

A man with a thick accent called and said that my computer was infected and he could "fix it" if I went to his website. I asked what company he was affilated with and of course he didn't/couldn't answer

Same as above.  Hung up when he said "I am find your computer is problem on networking".  Hey Nova Scotia, wanna get with the program and arrest these people?

Received a call in Connecticut at 4:45 PM.  No one spoke when I answered. Thanks to everyone who posts here. I won't even bother to pick up the phone next time!

I to recieved a call of this nature, only the thick accent sounded East Indian and was real difficult to understand. I kept him on the phone awhile to see what he wanted but eneded up hanging up on him and they actually had the guts to try and call back.

I just received the same call from a sydney ns number claiming i was getting errors on my computer.  i told him it wasn't even on.  He then replied if you turn it on you will see the errors.

I hung up.  No time for this.
