i got a missed call from that number aswell, and i got charged for it on my cell phone bill. i'm going to call today and ask about that.

it's a phone number from coxille (or maxville), ontario. [i couldn't understand the rogers representatives strong east indian accent]

but i received a call from them, didn't answer because it was a weird number. and it showed up on my bill that i called them and the call was 5 minutes long? weird. i complained because i dont know anyone in ontario, and have no reason to call ontario. so after bitching for 10 minutes, they refunded me the amount.

I'm Pretty sure that the people on the other line are from STUDENT LOANS (OSAP)

This number called me many times, looks like from OSAP, but the number left in voicemail is not in the official list, I called loan service center, they told no issues in my account, they don't know why I was called.

maybe its legit, but just be careful, don;t let them transfer you, call the number on the official site.

Guys, the name of the company is called tricura canada. it's a debt collection agency contracted out by Edulinx (the company contracted out by the government to administer student loans) Edulinx was formed and once owned by CIBC. I would still call the 800 number for NCLS and not give these guys any information.

Received a call asking for my son - he has always attend university in BC and has not had any contact with any Ontario universities.  Maybe he owes money, not sure.

These [***] took my phone line over the whole time the machine spoke it's little scam script. As soon as I saw the number show up I reefed on the "#" button only to have the machine start talking after I stopped hitting it after about 10 times.

I couldn't even hang up because as soon as I picked up the phone after slamming it down, it still went on.

After that I blocked it.

Received two calls in two days from this number sounds like they say OSAP student loans but I am far from being a student

Just missed a call from this number but it looks like its a scam. In that case I'm glad I missed it.

they keep calling me too - looks like a scam or some sort - remember even if it is Tricura or whatever, they have no right no call you without OSAP first telling you that they would be the ones contacting you. Its a shell service - ignore them!

Just got this call on Rememberence Day - if it really was Student Loans, wouldn't they be closed on a Federal Holiday?

Yeah they've called me a few times but I actually do have OSAP loans that are just starting to be paid back this month.
On the other hand I gave them my OSAP number and they said they couldn't find me in the database and needed my social insurance number instead.

Not happening. I'm going with scam til someone proves otherwise.

I just got this number, and called NSLC back to check, and it apparently *was* them, just a courtesy call about some documents.  Maybe someone else is cloning the number...>

got a cal from them left a msg with an 800 number to call.... more people seem to call it a scam than not so i'm just going with that

It's OSAP. Not a scam.

I got two calls from this number today and neither time did they leave a message. I do have a student loan in Ontario, however am not yet due to start paying back my loan(I just got my letter yesterday giving me payment details and spoke with them via the 866 number quoted in the letter), nor am I in arrears with a credit company. I strongly advise not answering calls from this number, likewise not returning calls to this number.

I called this # back didnt give a SIN # as requested. They repeated they are NOT part of the National Student Loan Centre, NOT part of OSAP when I asked.  was given a 1888-815-4514 toll free number to call back if I wanted..

Called, didn't hear it as of I was watching Law & Order. Left voicemail looking for my older brother who's in University at the moment. Was about Student Loans

I got two calls from this number and missed them both. I was finally able to check the voicemail which gave me a 1-866 number to dial and it was a company acting on behalf of OSAP. They asked me about a missed student loan payment. They were actually very friendly and helpful and we were able to go about it without using my social insurance number.
