- annoyedI get a call from an 866 # almost everyday. I never answer and it never leaves a message. Today I got a call from this # 905-306-6249. Some robotic woman's voice left a message on my voice mail saying if this is blah blah then please call back. And gave an 866 #.
My BC student loans went to collections and were removed last summer. I have been making monthly payments since then. After they were taken out of collections I had to deal with Revenue services. Why wouldn't they call if I was in collections again?? And I haven't missed any payments. I just faxed my paper work for federal loans and they mailed me back. So there shouldn't be anyone calling me about my loans.
Especially not for Ontario. I have never even been to Ontario.
I would ignore this call. If you're worried then call student loans. - JessicaBNation Student Loan Service. Direct phone number to call back is 1-866-303-3503.
They were really nice- just phoning as a heads up that my student loan will be withdrawn at the end of next month, and to confirm the payment amounts to be withdrawn etc.- Caller: Nation Student Loan
- KDThis is a legitimate phone number for local or outbound calls for the National Student Loan Service Centre which can be confirmed by calling their regular number 1-888-815-4514. They call for many things related to student loans, such as calling to obtain an updated address when mail they have sent out is returned.
- Caller: National Student Loan Service Centre/Resolve Corporation
- jgIt is a call from the National Student Loans Service Centre, which can be in refernce to a student loan from any province. They call for many reasons other than overdue accounts. For example, they called me today because my address was not up to date so that I would recieve important T4 slips for my taxes!
Also, Rememberance Day is not a holiday in Ontario- Caller: National Student Loans Service Centre
- StephAnyone who calls you and wants personal info (this is anything that cannot be obtained from other sources like phone book, like phone # and address) DO NOT GIVE IT OUT! I work for a large bank and see fraud every day, things like your date of birth, SIN #'s should never be given out, tell them you will call them back on the # you have for your student loan (if you actaully have one) It would be on your paperwork, never give it out on a phone call! Better to be safe than sorry!! If it was a legit call they would absolutely 100% understand your concerns and encourage you to call the # you have!
- michaelstrange call from this number a Saturday asking about OSAP laon repayment. NSLSC doesn't work weekends. weird. i refused to continue with the caller for security.
- michaeljust checked on 411.ca. this number ISN'T regiestered under either a person or a business. maybe we should be careful this time.
- Caller: not registered under 411
- Bettles replies to ffklyThis is the National Studen Loan Centre ifyou have an outstanding student loan - anything regarding payments to update or that are overdue
- ChrissyI just got a call from this number, but missed it and got a msg, it was a automated msg saying to call a 1866#, but if it were from NSLC wouldnt a person leave a msg instead of a automated msg?? i dont want to call it, but will call NSLC to see what they want, i know i recently called them to okay some things, and dont see why they would call me.
- GarJust had a call from this number and it is the National Student Loan Service Center. It sounded suspicious on our voice-mail because their message did not include an introduction about who was calling. I think their automated service started talking before our voice-mail was ready to listen? How rude, and now they even want me to start paying them back!!?!!
- mrmleducThe guys that say don't answer this call are fools. It is indeed Canada Student Loans. And they leave a message and a 1-800 call back number that you can look up. Call them back and deal with the issue before it hurts your credit score. Sometimes A hasn't talked to B for whatever reason and that can be fixed with one call. If it is not you that they are looking for, tell them they have the wrong number or else you will be called incessantly. The person I talked to today was very nice, and they have to deal with a lot of grumpy people. in the end i was actually pleased with their service. A legitimate call.

- SarahI received a missed call from 905-306-6249,requesting that I call back on 1-866-788-0288 number. After researching this number and finding that it was associated with NSLSC, but had mixed reviews for the company Tricera, acting on behalf of NSLSC.I chose to call the main NSLSC number (1-888-815-4514) instead of the 1-866-788-0288 number. After reaching the NSLSC and entering in my SIN, I was then forwarded to Tricera. I spoke with a rep, they asked for SIN or loan number, I opted to give loan number. They we're calling in reference to my Repayment Assistance application. I had faxed a copy of my husband's and my pay-stubs that they had requested, but the pay dates had been cut off. They we're calling to request that I re-fax the info. They we're polite and to the point. So, all in all, it is a legitamate call, and they're not necessarily calling for collection reasons, they also call for info updates.

- pattycakeThis is a legal number don't worry its National Student Loan i had a call from them call them back and found out that it is legit nothing to worry about guy :)

- concerned motherGot a recorded message from "student loan service centre" from 1-905-306-6249 to call 1-866-303-3503. I phoned the legitimate student loan number, and they could not identify either number, and told me to get my son to call the number on the website.
- Caller: student loan service centre
- Smokin JoeThe number is a scam , if you give out your SIN number they will apply for over $100,000 in credit cards limits and go shopping for a ton of laptops and iphones all paid for by you - dont be a chump , dont get scammed , they even post on here saying its osap but i never went to school on osap , so its a massive scam ! want to give out your money , donate it to me , i will spend it all on escorts too !
- BC student1st thing they ask for is for you to give your personal info SIN NUMBER ADRESS POSTAL CODE BANK #s all very suspicious. Funny thing is that I received a call at 810pm BC time and the number is in Ontario why would student loan be making calls at 11pm Ontario time. Anyways immediately suspect given that the first thing the phonet asks for is all this personal 'phishing' info. So checked out this site saw legit student loan phone numbers to call and called them an they are all closed so even more suspicious. I'm sure if student loans needed to contact you they can do so without demanding 1st thing you to provide your identity info. If they can't than thy deserve to he bankrupt.
- HKThis 905# called me at least once a week since December, I never answered because if I need assistance or anything regarding to my account I will only call 1888# directly.
I am on repayment assistance, I have to in touch with OSAP every 6 months to renew my status, where I just did in November. Also, I am still waiting for my last pay chq of 2011, where they know deadline of my renewal status is Jan.20th. Why bug me? - AmyBeen missing calls from this number since January. They seem to call when I am at work.
I do have a student loan that I starts at the end of this month, but I had already made my first
payment yesterday. I wonder if they are following up....but on the other hand, a lot of people seem to
think it is a scam, so I am not sure what I should do. :| - MikeThey called, I answered on the first ring, dead air. Blocked!
