I also heard back from the BBB yesterday and they told me that I need to contact a different gov't office since they are not for profit and they are not able to resolve what I requested.  I asked the BBB to make Haverhill change their stupid commercial and website so that it does not mislead people any further plus some other things... so I will be doing that this week.

As for CTV, I have not heard back anything yet, but they said that they do contact 100% of the people who write to them, but I am sure they get hundreds each day so it is only a matter of time.

And fripouille, do write W5, then send us the link and we can do it too.

did you know that you can also contact the police, they have a fraud department.  I think the goal of Haverhill is to exaserbate us so we walk a way without a fight.  I started the course Jan 2008 and am set to do the tele-class at the end of Feb.  I so don't want to finish the course because I am so embarressed to have ever been part of such a scam. Maybe this girl Andrea will be the tele-class teacher.  I think that would be the icing on the cake

hey disappointed. when i filed with the bbb is was for service issues. lack of service basically, since i didn't learn anything from them except that they are B.S.ers. i know by looking at the other complaints 2 were about advertising issues, 2 were contract issues, 1 sales practice, 1 customer service, and 2 refund. this is when they had 9. i copied it into my MS word, so i could use it in the future.

if you would like to read what i wrote, (the complaint and then my response to danielle saying i refused to resubmit additional work) i would love to send you that via email (myhoneybunny9@hotmail.com). just let me know.

i am seeking a full refund. because i copy and paste a lot, i have proof (somewhat but i provide the website addresses also) that i am not making this up. i did the same with CTV so they could review the websites themselves, investigate before following up with me.

i have always been good at documenting info (past jobs for legal reasons)and i know you always have to prove what you document (as you would have to if you went to court)so i included it with CTV, the BBB and right back to haverhill to show them why i think they are scamming people.

i will contact W5 today and update you after i do so.

hope gone replies to Haverville Hopeful
I believe that Haverhill has covered themselves legally and that the homecourse was fairly informative, but if you want to work for them it most likely will not happen.  They make it extremely difficult if not impossible to graduate with an 80% regardless of how talented and committed you are.  Those that have gotten hired are probably very few compared to the numbers taking the course.  I would love to see these statistics.  The pictures on their website of accredited stagers is growing, but are they saying these people passed the course or got hired?  It is not clear to me.  Read carefully.  I would not do it again, but this is strictly my opinion.  Everyone must make up their own mind.  It has been a big dissappointment.  I am pretty careful about peoples claims but I thought I would give this a try.  Once again I think they covered themselves legally.

I would never take this course again!  I was very optomistic in thinking that the most talented and committed will get hired.  I  beleive very few get hired.  Spend the $1000 on something else, this is a waist in my opinion.

I have a direct phone number to a lady I talked to if any of you want it. She also has an extension and she is in Canada. I talked to my mom about doing this program and she is the one who told me to go onto this website to see that it is obviously a scam. Anyway the phone number is 1-888-978-2433 ext. 2208. Her name is Megan Rogers

    Looking for Accreditation
Thanks everyone for the information. I'm really glad I did some research before signing up for this course. While some disgruntled students are to be expected, legitimate and well-run programs would not generate this amount of negativity. And the fact that Haverhill's president and staff are actually responding to these posts adds to my concern (not to mention the moral and ethical issue of the president also owning an adultery business).  Thanks again.

My question is this: can anyone reccomend a place that offers accreditation and an educational program to help me in my quest towards home staging and design? I don't have a lot of money, but want to learn the business and be able to say that I'm an accredited stager when I start to market myself. I know you don't need accreditation, but I think it makes you more attractive to potential clients.

Thanks in advance for your help!

DO NOT DO THIS PROGRAM... its a money grab and thats it. They make it almost impossible to finish on time and then they mark the exam unfairly making it so you do not pass. You need an 80% overall which is almost impossible to achieve with these scammers. Save your money and if you are really interested in home staging look at CSP - Canadian Staging Professionals. It is legit and helps you if you want to start up your own staging business!

fripouille replies to Looking for Accreditation
'Looking for Accreditation', you can start by looking in your local yellow pages. call up existing staging companies and ask them if they would be willing to train and then hire you. some do that. or, just start by offering your services.

just like starting your own business. i would suggest taking a business course rather than a staging course. you can read books on staging, decorating, real estate tips, join the forums online and ask questions.

being accredited in an unregulated field to me, as i have realized, does not matter. if you have done one or two homes, be sure to take pictures. lots of pictures, before and after.

heck, i will give you my book that i paid over $1000 for and you will see exactly what they explain to you. all the same stuff that is already out there. nothing new.

i will even photo copy my certificate and put your name in place of mine, or better yet, i will create a certificate for you. who is really going to know?

i should have thought of this scam, i could have been rich. they staged a real company and gave out real books and a framed certificate, and i bought it. like a money pit of a home. i bought it because it looked good. sorry, i digress.

i hope you find what you are looking for, but i hope you will join some of us at www.thestagingsource.com, and hopefully there will be more to learn about staging.

    Hi Andrea....

Wondered if you would be willing to connect with me via email. I am presently looking into Haverhill for myself, and after reading these posts its very hard to determine who is legitimate and I can not afford to be scammed. I am a hard working type of person who needs to find a way to make a living and this type of work is something I can be very passionate about. If you have real experience and would be willing I can be contacted at thyme2go@yahoo.com please just put haverhill or Andrea in the subject matter so I dont think your a spam mail. Thanks so much

Hello Go 2gether:  I have sent an email already but since you might be inundated with requests regarding the test questions, I thought I would send another.  I am in the same boat as everyone here and I would truly appreciate the questions you have so I can prepare for writing the second time.  My email address is note_to_teacher@fretboards.com
Thank you for making this offer.  This will offer people a form of review that is usually offered in a school setting (perhaps not the questions, but certainly a review sheet of what students should prepare with when studing).  I know the material, but perhaps with this review, I can make it past the fraudulant marking, or a least feel better about myself in spite of the 'fixed' mark.
    Much appreciated,
    Another very frustrated Haverhill student

I have been looking into Haverhill Home Staging for a few weeks now and I have literally read all of these posts.  I see some commonalities between the people who didn't pass the exam or who didn't get a job offer. The majority (not all) have poor grammar and spelling and I'm guessing they're thinking maybe a 60k/year career is easy to come by. After checking on the news and articles section of the Haverhill website, I read the details on the new hires. These are not newcomers to professional postions. These women well educated and well rounded, and are probably taking a pay cut to do this job. Most of them are college educated and have worked for many years in jobs that pay more than $30/hour. I am convinced that Haverhill is looking, not only for good grades, but experience, passion, intelligence, and image. If they are scamming people, I hope it is taken care of through the legal process.. and we know it will eventually happen.  The T&C's are quite clear and there's not much room for a flexible interpretation. It certainly does not sound easy. Basically, if your resume isn't strong to begin with, you shouldn't bother trying to get hired by Haverhill. If you have the grades but no resume, you'll get your certificate and that's it. They also state that they provide the additional 'on the job' training only if you are hired by Haverhill. They're not teaching you how to start a business, but to enhance current skills. It looks like they're in the process of rolling out their company in the US and since it's the employees that make any company successful, it's no wonder they're being very selective.
