I passed the Haverhill course without much trouble.  It seemed overwhelming at first and then I got organized.  I lost points on several lessons because of things that had nothing to do with my abilities.  I'm going to share what I learned.  I lost points on the first 3 lessons.  I used the same house for all three but they wanted me to use 3 different houses.  I lost points because I accidently used the same picture twice.  They deducted for that.  One of the lessons called for pictures of each room completely empty.  I have fibermyalgia and couldn't empty rooms and move furniture out.  Haverhill didn't care that I had a physical problem.  They deducted points for no pictures of empty rooms.  I lost my lesson 1 booklet so I printed the forms out on the computer but because I didn't have the booklet I didn't have the paperwork for each room in the proper order they were in the booklet.  I lost points for that.  None of these things had anything to do with my staging ability.  So I think Haverhill will use any reason to prevent a student from passing!  however, subjective.  I don't think they are a scam.  THey won't hold your hand so you have to be a selfstarter and if you're not a selfstarter you probably won't be successful as a stager.

I took the course, got accreditation but of course no job offer, they gave me credit for my excercise for delcutter and trades men but they never contacted my people and couldn't tell me if letters of confirmation had been sent out for my credentials! So what good is the accredation if they never helped or gave more than cryptic answers to questions or comemts on my work?

Everything you and Mr. Darren Morgenstern touch is unethical.  You are a shady, greedy scammer.  You don't even use your real name "Rick Diamond"  ain't it!!

Your expertise is keeping just above the law or cheating people for an amount that doesn't make it worth it for them to take you to court and for you to get out of the business when the heat gets too much.  Any tribute to you online was likely written by you.  From Morgenstern's fake "your domain is getting taken over, give us $70"  to both your Leadership Grants there is a theme!

For Leadership grants -- release the books!  Show the cash inflow and outflow, show your revenue from your business plan business which is required for grant applicants and match them up!

Release the list of recipients?  Tell us again how free money does exist!  Tell us how you take $2100 from someone applying for a franchaise so you can help them do up a business plan and of how you split the money with the writer (who you undoubtedly never pay) and Morgenstern and yourself.  Oh, is a franchaise a start up business?  Seems like you are breaking your own rules!

Many people may not drive the car you or Morgenstern drives, many may not live in the house you live in.  And you may be clever enough and you may have clever enough lawyers to avoid jail and deceptive marketing fines but you will never have something the poor saps that you scam have -- integrity and decency.  Enjoy the money, I hope you can't sleep at night.

I was also scammed.

I also purchased and enrolled in this course and was awaiting my tests and assingment marks, but they have said they lost or misplaced ?////  How do you do that????  I was then sent an email saying that due to the course going overtime I would have to submit more monies to continue with them and that my student number would be suspended till I pay.   I gave them $2,000.00 and I have nothing to show for it.  How do I get involved with this class action suit, all I want is my monies back and be able to register for another course, as this is where my passion lies.  Homestaging/Interior Design have been a passion in me and I am truly disappointed and set back by the lack of professionalisum and encouragement received from
Haverhill Staging and Design.

I did the course and was never elligible to be employed by them!  Don't know why since I passed every exercise and test!  Are you still going through with the suit?  If you are, I'm interested in getting my money back!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I like you did the Haverhill Staging Programme.  Fortunately, I actually enjoyed the experience - but did not expect to get employment as I do not live in the US.  So I was just doing it to consolidate experience, and practice for what I can only term as my 'hobby'. After passing each part of the programme I was then awaiting my certificate and was quite suspicious to receive a bulletin that stated that 'certificates will be send later in the year ....blah, blah, blah.  Strange I thought, because you only need card to print the things.  This did not sound right.  It was only recently that I went back on line to see that the site no longer exists and that in effect I had wasted my money - not necessarily my time - because I found it quite effective on a immediate level.  So whatever I can do to retrieve my money, I am willing to support whatever venture to recover the funds.  Although I am confused by the comments posted by Sheila Pigeau - please clarify whether there is a class action suit.

If there is a class action lawsuit, please count me in! Haverhill is definitely a scam, and I never received any of my assignments back before they went out of business. I think less of HGTV for endorsing this fraudulent company, and they should think about endorsing those that are supported by the BBB.

Not sure when this was posted but how did it fair out?  I'm a graduate of Haverhill and yes I was scammed and not hired but I had higher goals and started my own business which was the intent in the first place.  If there is a legal situation going on today with money refunded, I would be intrested to know more.  Honestly, all staging courses are a scam even the CSP but they're just respected more and haven't offered what they can't fullfill so they're in business still.  It takes experience to become a good stager and unfortunately you have to fake it until you make it in the  beginning to gain credible results!
Once you get some great jobs and pictures behind you,  you're on your way.  The problem is most students don't know how to market themselves, have no capital for invenstment (inventory), or are plain lazy and were looking for some fasr ride with Haverhill.  I'm a professional stager and let me tell you there is no glamour in the job!!!  It's hard working sweat packing and lugging the boxes of inventory house to house and then setting it up.  I think most people have the wrong conception of a stager as they think it's glamourous, HELLO NO!  I love my job and client reactions but it's far from glamorous.

Newspaper ads I understand, but to have Haverhill runs ads on HGTV which is obviously watched by decorating enthusiasts is just plain wrong.  I do believe that the consumer has some obligations to checking out these companies, however, the HGTV network SHOULD NEVER have run the ads without a complete investigation into this company.  I joined with them in 2008 when living in Ontario and then shortly after moved to Quebec.  This is when they explained to me that living there was a completely different program and I had to re-apply.  I admitted that I would only be there a short time and would I be able to continue upon my return to Ontario and they indeed said yes, and, at NO COST!
hmm...let's just say I did check into them then.  NO red flags anywhere, nothing against them with the BBB.  So what could I as a consumer do.  My passion is painting and decorating and they looked complitely legitimate.  HGTV should be on the hook for this as well.  AS for newspapers...well they receive hundreds of ads each day - too many to look into every one.  But this was a full ad slot on TV, just not the same.  HGTV (which was once on 24/7 while I did my art work) is off my list of stations to watch and no longer subscribe.  If more consumers did this maybe they'd learn their lesson as well.

When a new company starts up, it's almost impossible as a consumer to trace them.  I investigated this company before joining them and found nothing.  As I mentioned before, HGTV should also be on the hook for this one!

Do you actually know this stager in Dallas.  Up here in Canada, Haverhill has taken the money of many many unsuspecting people such as myself and given nothing in return.  I will admit that their books wer "ok" and that is it.  Cetainly not worth the more than $1,000.00 I paid...Just be careful!
