While I agree that the telemarketing for the Haverhill "Institute" may be legitimate, the school itself raises red flags with me. The work load is exceptionally high coarsand the pay rate has dropped $5 an hour.
The course workload is recommended to be completed in 20 hours. It took a hard-working freind of mine at least 150hrs and some personal expence to complete neary all the assignments. The expectation that one student can get 5 homeowners to have their homes completely re-staged is unreasonable. Add to that the fact that each of those homes was to have every conceivable room imaginable.
So these facts give me pause to think that, simpy, the school collects the $1200 tuition and expects hardly anyone to complete the course.
That seems clear to me. What do you say to that, Mr Okada.

I enrolled in the course and sent the material in over 2 months ago.. whick they gurantee you to be accredited in 30 days.. I spent alot of time an money on the projects that they sent me an I have heard no reply after calling the school numerious times.. Sounds like a director or shareholder. I was talking about the school not the staging company. The quality of the work was not the point in question. It is the unreasonable amount of work required to graduate that I was writing about. You need to stop plugging the company so blatantly. If you read the postings up to this point you would have known that and perhaps not wasted your time defending Haverhill.

I am interested in their course but I also have some reservations. I don't want to lose my money or time either. I checked the Better Business Bureau and there haven't been any complaints. Is there anyway to verify they are legitimate?  Has anyone out there taken the course and are you happy with it?

Don't do it.  I know someone else and they never return phone calls. She is getting very concerned. How can they promise jobs to everyone? Sounds like the better business bureau should be checking them out-soon!Good luck, but I bet you just lost your money. JAY

I am enrolled in the course. I just did there in class part of the course on satuday.  I am still waiting for my marks from the home session. My next step is the test then the interview.  I will let you know if this happens.  I am advised I should be interviewed in at least 1 month from now.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I enquired about the course back in May/08. Very hesitant about proceeding. Now I am getting calls again and they are offering 50% off course......what does everyone think about that????

Well, I was to receive my test yesterday  by e-mail, it never happened.  Was also told on Saturday Aug 23rd that my marks were sent out.  I still have not received them?

Warning: Please do not register in this course... They waste your time and you lose your money.. It's all BS!!! I sent in my material 3 months ago and they sent it back to me telling me I had to re do 2 other parts than send it in then wait another 3 months for the results than months to do your in class than months to do your interview than months to take your test than you have to stage 5 homes without getting paid...... There are a lot of other staging schools that are legitimate and great ... Make sure to do lots of research ... I don't recommend anyone taking this course.. My friend also enrolled and they wouldn't give her money back... This Haverhill staging school is not good.. It's a waste of time and money and they don't live up to their guarantees and jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They say most people dont apply for employment with them and for the ones that do, they only get hired if they meet their criteria and that if they arent hired they get all their money back.

The $1,100 question is this: Has anyone completed the course, applied for employment, got refused a job and didnt get the refund???

people, take some interior design courses at your local community college if you want to be a "stager," don't get involved with a correspondence course.
it's sad to see people seriously consider wasting money when there are other ways to get the kind of training you think you need.

The workload is no more demanding than any comparable course.

What do you expect to do for a 61k job?? no work? easy work? or maybe they shouldnt critique your work and just accept it as you think it should be done.

also, If you want to see the course material before enrolling then just do that.

Of course many people dont finish the course, just like many people dont use their health club memberships to get in shape after signing a contract. It's up to the person.

The pay rate has not dropped (it's always been $31.45/hr) and you do not need to stage 5 homes, you need to stage 3 homes of which one can be your own and the others can be friends or family's. They will also help you find homes if you need help.

If they werent legitimate and on side of the law, they would be closed down by now.

It sounds to me like growing pains from a successful business that needs to spend some time and money hiring more employees.
