- concerned person..the lady asked for crystal. no one by that name. told me i can help by telling them what radio stations i listen to? my age? if i am the only female in the home. i was thinking about the whole call and that it was not sitting well w/ me after the fact. i tried calling the number back and it was not a working number. if i receive a call by them i will take legal action. i am afraid for some odd reason.
- Caller: didn't tell me.

It's a survey, nothing more. If you're concerned call me at 913.384.9494 ext 103. The number you called just goes out to one of the phones on the floor and probably wouldn't get answered. You can also visit our website at www.vipresearch.net Nothing to be afraid of. Call me, or mail me at mike@vipresearch.net and I'll remove you from our list (we're registered as exempt with the National Do Not Call List). Our SAN # is 10025429-125429-08. Registering with the government is not something that tele-serial killers do, so that has to put you a little at ease. I'm sorry that you're so fearful and I'll remove you if you get ahold of me and tell me what number to remove.

- JB| 2 repliesI have taken the survey from 913.384.6885: it is a harmless non-invasive survey. However, it doesn't stop there. For months now, we have received random calls at various times of the day and night, experienced the "Hello?"-then-hang-up, spoke to an indignant operator that will only talk to the person on their list, then hang-up with no hope of getting off the list. We got frustrated and started answering "Stop calling!" and hang-up, but it still never ends... Only until I got the gumption to google this number and find this post did I see a way out. I called Mike's number, he had an appropriately funny greeting. I left a message and left our number for the Research Ninja. Hopefully, the calls will stop; next I guess I'll email, who knows from there.
I didn't mind taking the survey, but I assumed this was a one-and-done type of thing, and now, do not want to take any further surveys from anyone, ever!
I read thru all the previous posts prior to mine and see the angry notes from other people and then the defensive replies from Mike. It made me feel sorry that he continually has to put up such a fight for his company. However, at the same time I am on the receiving end of the auto-dialer and non-cooperative staff. I still want out, but perhaps for others you can turn down the frequency of the calls and respect the request to be removed?- Caller: VIP Research

- Mike Heydman replies to JB| 1 replyJB:
I got your message and removed you from our list. I apologize for any inconveniences. You're right, it blows getting calls all the time and it double blows getting kicked in the nuts about it too! I wanted to make one point for clarification, just so you don't think our main goal is to harass folks until they snap. We spoke with "J" (keep it anonymous) on 1-13 asked her some questions and then asked if we could call her back and have her rate some short portions of songs being played on the radio. She said yes, but we were never able to get in touch with her to do the second part with the music(hence the constant calls trying to reach her for the fun part of the survey). My folks are supposed to be polite, and if they fail there, I fire them. They're supposed to supply a reasonable explanation as to why we're calling (much like the one I gave above) so that others in the household know what's going on. We often run into the situation where we reach someone in the house, give 'em the pitch, and they think it sounds cool (cuz it is) and then we'll try and call back. Invariabley, someone else will answer the phone, having no idea who we are, or why we're calling and "How Dare US!" ask for their spouse by their first name, or some such thing. Hilarity ensues. So that's why we called, and that's why we try to talk to the individual we initially recruited in order to remove them, just to make sure we don't lose their valuable opinions over a misunderstanding.
Anyway, no excuses, just apologies, and I've removed you from our list.
Oh, and thanks for being civil, as you can see, I get beat up pretty hard over a 2 minute call, and often times it for the very reason I described above.
Be sure to call or mail me if you have any questions.
Mike - william fodeI get at least one call a day from this number no message when i call back i get a recored message that this is not a working # whats up !!wfode @yahoo.com

- R.A.B.| 2 repliesMike, Mike, Mike..... *sigh* Tell you what - if you post your home phone # on here, I'll be happy to return your call and answer your survey questions at my convenience. Hugs & Kisses & you hang in there little buddy. Every time someone answers a tele-survey, an angel gets their wings!!!! :D /// For the rest of you: please google "telemarketer games". All kinds of fun ideas will come up. Hey! Good news! Games are fun & Mike's team wants to play! Remember, only YOU can take the "market" out of telemarketer.

Well played sir, well played. I'm playin' the cards I'm dealt. I call the numbers that I'm allowed to call and, as you can see, I do whatever I can to remove folks who don't want those calls. While I will give you "Props" for one of the most well composed and appropriately witty posts on here, I can easily remove you from the list if that's what you want. A lot of folks think that by ignoring the call and shaking their fist in anger at a ringing phone will do the trick, I can't do a thing until I know what number to remove. Additionally, if someone else in the house has agreed to do our survey, we're only trying to reach that person because they've given us permission to do so, even if you are unaware as to why we're calling. Again, great post, if you want to be removed, I'll do it without delay. But an anonymous "jab" isn't gonna solve the problem. Once again, my info: Mike Heydman 913.384.9494 x 103, mike@vipresearch.net. I can't make it any easier, and all I can do is apologize and remove you. - Danielle replies to Mike HeydmanHi, Mike. I just sent you an e-mail to be removed. So everyone knows, I did agree to a quick radio survey once and they said they would call back at a later date for a slightly longer call to rate a few snippets of songs. I did that too and was warned to wait til the very end or I would keep getting called back. It really wasn't bad, but I completed it and my house has been called repeatedly multiple times every day. I just don't want to put my parents through that anymore. So any help to stop any further calls is appreciated. I'll send another message on here if it works in an effort to help stave off any craziness.
- Unwanted Calls| 3 repliesThis number calls several time a day. It has gotten very old. When you try calling back to get them to stop it says the number is unavailable. I am on the DO NOT CALL List but apparently that makes no difference to this company!!

- Mitch replies to Unwanted Calls| 2 repliesRead the above posts bud. This is not that hard... Call and they will take you off of the list. I did it, and that was that. Stop crying and take care of it. Thanks Mike.

- A true friend and worker replies to A friendI was an x-worker at this company and it was legit, we did call first to put people on call lists, if they didn't want their names on a list, they never got called. I also grew up with Mike and knew him very very well, he was never a JERK, nor a person to rip anyone off. I hope those sending all these nasty messages, will please give this family time to for grief and stop all your nonsense lies about how you never agreed to your name being put on a list. That is nothing to worry your pretty little heads over and is like a piece of fuzz on the ground compared to what this company, friends and family are coping with. It is like you have nothing better to do, now the economy and world are things to worry about. LET IT GO!!!!
To the company, family and friends of Mike, my heart and prayers go out to each of you. Growing up with Mike and having him offer me a job there was a great experience. I will never forget him. He will be GREATLY MISSED..... He was loved and liked by many..... - kmes| 1 replyThey called and hung up when I didn't answer and let them machine pick up. I don't want any solitations, I thought that I was on the do not call list.

As you may or may not have read from one of the above posts, we are
registered as exempt with the National Do Not Call List. We are not trying
to sell anything. We are simply calling to do a short radio survey. If you
are not interested in participating all you have to do is email me your phone number and I can have it removed from our calling list. By not answering the call the dialer automatically puts your number back in the system to try again at another time. My email address is elizabeth@vipresearch.net or jon@vipresearch.net. Or you may call me at 913-384-9494 during the day, or leave a message after hours by pressing zero for the operator. - Evie Gelb replies to Mike HeydmanPLEASE REMOVE OUR PHONE NUMBER AND DO NOT CALL US EVER AGAIN. 816-942-4954. THIS IS VERY ALARMING AND DOES NOT WIN MANY FRIENDS. THANK YOU FOR REMOVING OUR PHONE NUMBER.
- EHI got a phone call from this # and missed it...when I called back it said it was not a working #. Very frustrating.
- Caller: did not show a name
- only do paid surveysThey called tonight for the radio survey and I asked if they would pay me or give me a gift card, they said No...I apologized and said I will not do the survey, they thanked me for my time and hung up.
No big deal people, stop freaking out!! Get a life!- Call type: Survey
- TAMMY replies to Mike HeydmanMY name is Tammy and I am also a telemarketer (with a different company). Although I know it can be difficult, I would never admagine using the (lack of) telephone ediquette that I have experienced with this company. I have gotten many many phone calls where they ask for me by name and hang up without reason, usually laughing in the background. I would get fired immediately for treating a memeber of the community and prospective customer in that manner. You really do attract more flies w/honey than vinegar. I would absolutely NEVER have anything to do with this company and wish never to be called/harrassed again.
Tammy - UseSomeSense replies to Mike HeydmanWell either way you look at it, you are violating the law. Calling people on the Do Not Call List and with a robo call now faces stiff fines and penalties. Don't worry, I will refer your message to the FTC and FCC, so they see you are flagrantly violating the law. I hope you get nailed with some very stiff fines!
