Calls come through an auto-dialer or Google Voice/VOIP - you answer & there's a brief gap before you hear they're "calling to update your listing on Google". Highly doubtful the calls are directly from Google. More likely a phishing expedition to gather info related to your business, if it's listed on Google Places.
Another of their tactics is to infer they are Google, but they want to sell SEO services to "get your web site a higher ranking on Google search results".

Either way, my advice would be to record the call (check your state laws or just rely on the recording so you can review it for details later), act interested in their service or product and see how much of their company name & info you can coax from the person who called you. If you can get THEIR info, you might pass it along to the FCC, FTC or the Attorney General for your state & the state they're working from.

I'm not sure the Do Not Call List is very helpful if they're calling a business, especially if you have your number listed on Google Places, Yahoo Local, etc. I know individuals are covered under Do Not Call, but I'm not sure about businesses.

Every day they calling me and asked push #1 for updating your Google Free Listing. Four Days ago  I pushed #1  and the agent said do you want be in 1st page of google, I said NO. Because I don't want to pay anything and also I said I put my number in DO NOT CALLING LIST  and after that they are calling me everyday.

Call on cell phone. Didn't answer. No message left. It will go on my Junk Call list with a distinctive ring so I know to ignore it.

This is an on-going scam.  They call for a few months with this number and then they change numbers and start calling again.  No Problem!
I suggest to everyone to buy a call blocking phone.  Bought one for my home and my office.  They are VERY inexpensive and they work!  The call blocking phones stop ALL "out of area," all "private," and "unknown" phone calls without you having to do anything!  Other numbers...you simply press a button and no more calls from them.
My telemarketer calls have dropped by 95-98% now that I have call blocking phones.
Panasonic and Uniden make great call blocking phones!!!  Get one - or two!!!

They called and left a message about a free google 411 listing. Glad that I did not answer.

VERY annoying - I have tried many times to call this number and get message that the Google voice subscriber is not available.  Until the info on this site had no idea who they were or are. CID says unavailable

You will never escape these people. "Google411" AKA "29Prime" are phishing. Confirm your information and expect a fat bill for nothing. Think you can get away by blocking their number? THINK AGAIN! They change their number every week.

We are all being bombarded with scam calls. I suggest the following.
1. Must have caller ID
2. Never, never answer a call unless you know it is family or friends or number you know.
3. If no message left, no harm done
4. If message left - you now have full control on what to do

Getting angry hurts only you - they could care less

Now relax and follow the above plan every time

Multiple "dead" calls a day from this number.  This is a busy switchboard and it's making me crazy.

I went looking on the Internet to check on this number and usually check this website.

My line of self-defense is what's been mentioned above.1. I use caller ID and don't answer any number I don't recognize. 2. I bought a Panasonic phone that has caller blocking (not all models have this feature) and just keep adding the numbers in. I realized a few months ago that these pests were constantly changing numbers so I bought a Panasonic phone because a friend has one and had been blocking calls.

The robocallers have finally figured out my other number is a fax line; I loved it that they were getting buzzed by the handshake noise.

Do as I did. I add the number to my contacts as SCAM. every time I receive a call from SCAM, I don't answer. It works, trust me. And get rid of voice messages. Voice message service consume your minutes and at the end of the line it is only good for the mobile service providers.

Called our business 10+ times a day. Very annoying.

This number call on a daily basis, the company caller ID says Unknown Name.
