Scam number quit calling

Its a collection acegncy for Duke University Health.  If you owe a bill you get a call.  I got one so I called duke and paid.  Now I am not getting calls.  So pay your duke bills people and the collection agency wont be calling!

Just my opinion...

If I was being harassed by ACS, I would file a complaint with the North Carolina Department of Insurance. The NCDOI licenses and regulates collection agencies in NC.

If ACS was harassing me about a debt owed to a medical facility, I would directly contact the facility's general counsel's office to let them know what their agent is doing wrong. For example, I would contact Duke Hospital's GC:

Companies like ACS can only intimidate me if I let them. I would stand up for my rights. I would let their client know that my rights are being violated.

ACS may be subject to NC General Statute 58-70-90. If ACS violates it, I may be able to sue them and receive $4000 for EACH violation of that law.

Ok, thanks for the tip-off guys.  So they are a collection agency?   Well, they now have collected my middle finger.

Keeps calling and asks for a person who does not live here.

they called me and ask me to hold on, i don't think so.

I have been making payments on my account twice a month for years.  This B*S* only start after I went to another one of Duke's Satelite Hospital for a CAT scan.  (Never had issues when I went to Main Hospital.)  Anyway, I make payments on my account twice a month via healthview portal.  The SAD thing is the calls increase after I have made a payment.  HEY AT LEAST I MAKE PAYMENTS!  (I can just claim hardship and make the hospital write it off thru an indigent program. Or just go thru the WELFARE program. But no, I am making good on my bills.)  I have complained to one of my physicians, but I know he has no control over collections/billing. SO BACK OFF.  DUKE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL IS GETTING ITS MONEY! It just might take a little longer.
