- SamiA agent named Eric calls every day this last week. Asking for one of my employees. I ask him what he wantds... wants to talk to the person in charge of merchant services. I told him we are on the do not call list and do not wish to receive any more calls as we are not interetsed in their services. He tells me that business do not qualify for no solicitations calls.. WTF?
He called again today - told him to go away and then he hung up on me. I called the number back and got a CS supervisor and made a formal complaint.- Caller: Universal Merchant Serices
- Call type: Telemarketer
- WarningI just received a call from this number. When I answer the call I was placed on hold with some elevator music. They did not identify themselves or the purpose of the call. Obviously, I hung up and checked the number. After reading the comments posted about this company and the replies the company has posted, I would have to question why anyone would want to trust this organization. Judging by the tone of the company responses I can determine that they are extremely vulgar, rude and unprofessional. They insult their customers, call them names and in my case would not even identify themselves or the purpose of their call. You decide.

- 949-861-4000A man called and asked for my boss. When I screened the call (I've learned to screen for telemarketers) he was rude and said he'd call back. I'm glad I checked on this site before he had a chance to call back. Thanks to all who posted.

- AOKGot called today. Employee got the FIRST call. Asked if "manager or decision maker" was available, she said, "No," and hung up, as directed by boss.
SECOND call, Boss answered, "hello." Voice - "I don't think you understand the nature of my call. I am with 'merchant services,' and I handle your account" Boss - "What account?" Voice - "your processing account." Boss - "what processing?" Voice - "your credit cards!" Boss - "no you don't," and hung up. (Because, if he did, he'd know who to ask for, or at least know the name of the company that we do use!)
THIRD call. Boss - "hello." Voice - "are you the one there who knows what they're talking about?" Boss - "some of us know what we're talking about." Voice - "that's good. Is there a fax number I can send this information to, because if you don't look at it, you will be 'sadly declining' this offer." Boss - "I sadly decline this offer," and hung up.
No fourth call! - pimppridebrooks - excellent link... we filled a FCC complaint also... get rid of the time wasters! these guys call daily, multiple times a day...

Go pettle your wares elseware. Better yet, move to China and do it from there. - MerchantProviderFREE replies to Merchant ProviderBFD, you don't really think you've convinced anyone by your post, do you? LOL Powered by First Data. Just what does that mean? NOTHING. And if any Merchant could not understand how to read their statements, they call their own company and ask them. I would guess 99% could figure it out.) "This is for your benefit only"...???!!! Right...we all believe that. LOL

- JerriUnsolicited sales call from this company, despite being on the Do Not Call list. When I notified the caller we were on the list, and not accepting sales/telemarketing calls of any kind, he LIED to me and said he represented the company that is processing our credit card sales. I know exactly who processes our CC sales, and it's not Merchant Services in Irvine, CA. When I stated that we were not interested in making any changes to our CC services, the caller rudely stated "You don't know anything about credit card processing!" and hung up on me.
1. They break the law by ignoring the Do Not Call Registry.
2. They use fraudulent sales tactics. i.e. Telling me they already handled my CC processing when the don't.
3. If you aren't interested in their product, they are rude and hang up on you.
I'm sure they get so many customers with these wonderful sales tactics. I immediately reported them to the FCC, and the Better Business Bureau.
I suggest never accepting any offers from solicitations until doing some quick research. Simply Google the company name and/or phone number, check for reviews/complaints and you can find out very quickly what type of company you are dealing with.- Caller: Merchant Services

- Angry Citizen replies to Merchant ProviderYOUR COMPANY PRAYS ON THE WEAK AND TRICKS THE SMART INNOCENT PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO ARE MINDING THERE OWN BUSINESS. GET A CLUE!!! THE WORLD IS FED UP WITH COMPANIES "LIKE YOURS" CALLING THEM AND TRYING TO CONVINCE THEM THEY KNOW IT ALL AND SHOULD DO WHAT THEY ADVISE BECAUSE WE THE INNOCENT DO NOT KNOW ANY BETTER.
DO US ALL A FAVOR AND FILE CHAPTER 7 AND DISAPPEAR, AND I GUARANTEE ALL WOULD AGREE.
YOURS TRULEY,
A PERSON WHO KEEPS GETTING CALLS FROM YOU GUYS. FUNNY HOW YOUR COMPANY NAME IS "MERCHANT SERVICES"..... WHICH IS WHY I RETURNED YOUR VOICE MAIL BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS MY BANK CALLING ME. THANKFULLY THE PERSON AT THE EXTENSION DID NOT ANSWER. - ZorakMerchant Services called asking for the person in charge of finances. They make it seem that they are your friend. I talked to Erica Judd. She made it sound like there was already an existing relationship and wanted me to pass on that the call was in regards to Industry Changes.
I kept her on the phone as long as I could. I love milking these people of their time. I'd probably have more respect for them if they first do not try to make it look like I have a relationship with them already and second, that they just be up front that they want my business and what they are offering. Trying to "teach" me does not interest me.
I am sure that someone else will call when no one calls poor Erica back and I'll have some more fun.- Caller: merchant services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Zorakone thing to note:
The do not call registry does not apply to business phone lines. I have filed complaints for telemarketers on our business line and got information back from the FCC that the call was not covered by the law due to the line being possessed by a business.
If the line is a home line, not used for a business, then you can use the law. - NieveJust received a call from 949-861-4000 ext. 7033 Luana Lee insisted she was with our merchant services company and set up an appt. w- Sonya Castle to review our statement. I checked with our company who said no one callled us from there. When l called Luana back l got a call center to leave a message. She called me back and insisted she was at their main office right now, yet she could not name our merchant company's name. Thanks to google and other warnings I was not taken by this SCAM!

- Yolanda/CookieI got a call on my job from these people . It sound strange to me that someone would want to look at my creditcardbill. I thought right away , scam. They called me twice . As I continued to talk to the lady ,she said her name was Maria Sanchez . Then I asked her again , what is your name . She said Maria Valdez . She also gave me another # , (949) 313-0947 ext.442 . People please do not fall for these scams. They also have a man calling , pretending like he's from another company .
- KKHWhy is your company calling home numbers in Canada?????
- Kat| 1 replyThe company never states their name and uses First Data's name to get you to listen to their crap. The sales person's name I spoke with was Sandra. She kept talking over me. When I stated that she was not listening to me or my company needs she just rolled right over me. I am sorry - but even if you HAPPEN to be somewhat legitimate company - is this really the way to do business? Is this really good customer service? If it is then I DEFINITELY don't wanna do business with you! And I hope no one else does either.
