The number is being spoofed.  This is a well known tactic now being used.  It makes it look like the call is legitimate, and also makes it hard to block for certain people and businesses.

Called me June 29 claiming to be my oldest grandson. I told the idiot that I have never been married and therefore have no oldest or youngest grandson and never to ******* call me again. Reported call to NJ circuit court, lady said they have an investigation going on.

This person claimed to be my "oldest grandson".  When I asked him his name, he repeated that two more times.  When I asked him for the forth to, he finally said "Chris".  I told him that I don't have a grandson named Chris, he hung up.

Got call from 973 645 3730 ID Said US Courts  didn't answer no message blocked that number

It looks as if they latest & greatest con game from the brainless wonders out there is to spoof real names & phone numbers. IF they had real brains & guts, they would be out working real jobs instead of hit & run type schemes. No sympathy.....including for when their miserable lives are ended here on Earth & then they have to meet up with the Big Guy who can NOT be conned...….!!!!

Want to know the best way to have peace in your life??  VOICE MAIL!!!  Then real callers will leave messages. And if it IS an idiot con artist who is stupid enough to leave a message, that makes it even easier to ID as a con game!!  The only people I feel sorry for are the elderly people who have become too trusting & gullible to spot those crooks....

CID said it was "Suspected Spam" but I decided to humor them and pick up. The only thing I heard was a dog barking in the background.

“Called me grandma, you know who you are talking to?” Another scam, sick of these.

"Hey Grandpa, how are you" spoken sadly. It's a scam.

same caller ID used ..  No message left, of course,.  After reading all these posts, I see I'm not the only one getting these calls.  7/25/18  4PM..

NOTICE (2/28/18): Telephone Scam Regarding U.S. District Court

The U.S. District Court of New Jersey is advising the public to be on alert for a phone scam that spoofs or fakes the Court's name and telephone number on the recipient’s voicemail and/or caller id. Callers have targeted residents around the region, claiming to be representatives of District Court and demanding monies from victims for bond payments and/or other legal notices. The Court does not call private citizens to threaten or demand money. The public is reminded to never give out personal information to callers that you don't know.

If you have been a recipient of one of these calls, it is recommended that you contact the Federal Trade Commission (ftc.gov) or, if you are a victim of one of these calls, please file a report with your local police department.

Instant and permanent justice for this and all scammers should be appropriate.

Received call stating US Courts from Newark New Jersey they didn't leave message blocked number on my phone and looked it up on internet for scam complaints just what I thought
