They are a debt collection agency calling the wrong people.  They have been calling my number looking for this person for npearly 2 years.  I don't know the person or anything about them they call before 9 in the am

The # does belong to a debt agency, however their calls to my home were a complete scam.  Claimed I owed several hundred of $$ to them for a back bill.  However when pressed to provide supporting documentation to me via email as they are required to do before I paid them anything they balked and said I need to pay now to prevent further legal issues.  Funny but I had just pulled my credit report several days earlier and I don't have anything outstanding.  Told them to go screw off and not call or bother me again.

Glad you avoided the scam.  However, the documentation must be sent by snailmail ... USPS mail ... within 5 days of the phone call.

Company name is "ERC" - Enhanced Recover Company. Collections agency. Wouldn't want their job, with all the folks giving fake phone numbers, addresses, etc. to get credit and make purchases. Likely chase their tails A LOT, and get bad reviews because no-one likes a collections agency. In any case, that's who they are. Had no problems when I called their number, gave the reference number, then told them that the person they were looking for was not at that number or at my address. Simply asked for their current number (which I would not give them without the holders permission), and then politely asked me to pass the information along.

You're funny! ERC (formerly Enhanced Recovery Corp.) has the reputation they do because they deserve that reputation. If you're working with them tell your co-workers that Gunnar says that if they ever think they're going to save enough money to get out of Duval county working at that outfit, they are very sadly mistaken! So, the best things to do are to read the following, and make complaints at the provided links.  Also, any communication with these criminals should be by certified, return receipt US mail only:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Calling non-stop for 3 days (Friday Saturday Sunday) with a minimum of 5 calls each day.  Should be illegal...wait, it is!

...and no, I don't ever answer the phone, I don't have my name on my voicemail, I am on the do-not-call registry, have a non-published number, ...and no I am not going to validate their efforts and answer.

They called me before 8am which i told him that was illegal and as i asked to speak to a manager they kept asking me questions and trying to give me run around . Once i got in touch eith the manager he acted as if he didnt care . I advise everyone to report them . There talk off is illegal . The can not do anything by law to you such as threaten to prosecute you like they tried to do with me lol such a shame

These guys are worse than Portfolio this month....I've had 22 calls from them in March!

Called twice as private and unknown caller. Wanted me to give them my mailing address and birthday as verification they had correct person. After telling them I would not give out that info, they should already have it,  and to state the reason for the call, he said due to privacy laws had to have the info first, then would tell me why he was calling. Told him again if he didn't stated the reason for the call I would terminate the call which is what I did. He was still babbling when I hung up.

Many calls no voice mail ever, left so blocked them. If it's important for me to call back you think they would leave a voice mail with the important information it's regarding with a phone number and persons name to get in touch with.

I have been having many calls from the number 980-321-9457, I do not have any debt, so this number has to stop calling the wrong people.

From what I gather this number is a debt collector.  I do not answer but they keep calling and have never left a message.  I do not have anything outstanding in my debt history.  They might be looking for a relative of mine.  I do not give out anyone's info unless given permission to do so.  I am blocking them.
