I LIKE you! LMAO at the spammers comment! I am not one of them but loved the comment! And all the resources. You are right about all of it and APS is not above doing the same thing as the niece either. I have heard horror stories about that! Do your due diligence and get an attorney on that right away!

I have reported my SS# and my emails and passwords being stolen and taken over to the local police and even provided the proof and they will NOT EVEN WRITE A REPORT!!! One was taken over by my ex-husband and they wont help me at all! My ex-husband is a volunteer Sheriff that has gone around the bend and spent eight years in prison for his crimes and has a lot of friends both high and low and that is why I live on the other side of the US from him now! I think this may be why they wont help me.

I have Experian with Credit Fraud as well and they say in their synopsis of the Credit Fraud Access that they will assign you a Fraud Specialist to help you until your case is resolved. BUT THEY WONT DO THAT UNLESS YOUR CREDIT HAS BEEN AFFECTED! I already have my credit on lock down because my wallet was stolen out of my car years ago. So I took proactive action and locked all three bureaus down immediately and made a report about the stolen wallet immediately as well. I have also put a statement on my credit saying that I am a victim of Identity theft and all creditors are to call first before approving anyone for further credit. That has done well for me so far.

But now, just this year; 2023, Experian detected my SS# on the dark web along with my email addresses and passwords. It has been a nightmare! Experian says that since my credit has not been affected then they can do nothing and so do my local authorities! CRAZY! You can do so many things with a Social Security number! I am so glad that I read this comment string because I didn't know that  you could apply for a new one! That is fantastic news! Thank you to whoever posted that!!! I will be pursuing that avenue come Tuesday! Thanks for all the shared stories and helpful advice here! I am bookmarking this website!

My dad did that too and we have the same name so that makes it harder to dispute i got one off but every other time they say it's all verified. The bills went to his address not mine and now it looks like I was living there but I never even been there.

Do you want my honest opinion!!? Hopefully being almost two decade's later, your doing better. I'd block, spam and call police. I report to FTC at least twice a month as little as it maybe, Ma-ybee it'll save someone like you! Have the day you deserve

Very important **** When a debt collector, creditor etc calls, never acknowledged that you are who they're looking for... If they say good morning, I'm wishing to speak to so & so and you answe(yes), they record that and verify it's a viable debt regardless of it isn't. My ex works for LifeLock & different server's. Hope this little tid bit helps.
