Join in a class action law suits against them.  Every single one of them!  You will actually get paid.  You can also use my personal favorite which is to put them on hold every time they call.  For some reason that really irritates them & makes them stop because now you are wasting their time!

866-709-7610 is a number who have been constantly calling me at home on an average of 3-4 times a day.  I have just stopped answering, but I wonder if there is a way that I can block a particular number from contacting me.  Any thoughts Community?

The operator at 866-709-7610 will ask to confirm your identity, by giving them information to "compare" with what they have on file. such as your DOB, Address, Social insurance #, Mother's maiden name, etc.   Of course this is for your privacy sake, just to make sure they have the right person.  Horse s**t!

The Do Not Call registry has become worthless, as the Bush admin gutted it's budget so that now there is only a few dozen employees dealing with literally millions upon millions of complaints. The FTC was recently much further gutted by Trump, so the USA seriously become a "caveat emptor" (let the buyer beware) marketplace where it's every person for them self! You get what you voted for. Trump is only out for the millionaires- very obviously!

PJ Styles - is it your cell phone they are calling or a land line?  I cannot offer much advice if its a landline as I no longer use one myself & haven't for years now.  However, if it is your cell phone, there are apps available for this very purpose.  Your cell phone company should have a call-block feature already in place (call customer service or get on line & look on their website) but if not, you can download an app such as Hiya, which is the one I use.  With Hiya, every incoming call is screened and if it isn't a number I have in my phone book, it will only ring once or twice before disconnecting the call & immediately sending them a text message stating that I use their service to prevent unwanted calls and they are welcome to text message me providing their identity & purpose of their call, giving me the option to return the call or block them.  Blocking them is just a matter of hitting a button & it's done.  There are other similar apps.  This one was recommended by a friend & had pretty good ratings but I'm sure others do, too.  Good luck!

We're all getting these calls, which seem to be becoming more frequent.  My advice is to disconnect the call immediately or pick up and leave the phone off the hook for as long as you like.  Don't answer as that just gives the scammer a handle to launch into a script.  A lot of these come from overseas, particularly the Caribbean or India, and some hide behind legitimate businesses.  It's tempting to call back, but usually the number is "not in use" or no-one answers.

I received a call from "Unavailable" and a number that only read "+1916" - No msg. was left.  Any ideas who the caller would be with a phone number format of +1916?

1800-222-4569 just called me obviously this isn't doing anything if this company is still saying the exact same things as everybody else. It looks like they've been doing it for quite a while.

Since the Do Not Call list doesn't work at both the Federal And State level, The government should be going after the Telco's for allowing these calls to go through their equipment.

The above suggestion that harasees get a second phone number (who pays for it?) and then not give any number to ":banks, credit card companies, or credit bureaus" is naive, at best.  Just try to open, or even use, an account or any sort without a phone number.  Doesn't work.  And as far as the credit bureaus, whoever "gives" them ANY info/  They get it themselves!

Incessant calls for months from MJR Capital blowing up all my lines. The latest was a letter in Jan that I could potentially save $700 by paying them the reminder before the end of the month. My lawyer payed everything directly to BMO in Nov. Crocked collector company should be ashamed of harassing people and not doing their due diligence on accounts.   RCMP aware.
