Has anyone dealt with ARM (Atlantic Resource Management)?

They say I owe them money but aren't really willing to work anything out with me. I have to send large sums or the deal is off. If you know anything about them, good or bad, please share.

Look out for these guys.   By matching one of the ARM numbers referenced by Julia, (888-393-6044) on consumerjustice.com, it appears to match up with "AF Group aka/American Financial Group of Lake Elsinore, California."    These guys have an absolutely horrendous record.   (On a scale of 1 to 4, consumerlist gives them the "death's head" rating as the worst of the worst.)    Quite frankly I wouldn't go near them without a lawyer.   These guys are poisonous.

Unlikely. There's no conspiracy, save the obvious one to scare and bully people into giving them money.

Hi You know these people have contacted me at my place of work as well saying the same thing. They threatned with court & garnishing my wages & selling my car at auction if I didnt pay a large sum of money. I paid them 50 with a promise of 50 amonth until the $1,350.00 balance was paid off. Now they want a prepaid card to be able to charge every month but I want an address to mail my payments in & they wont give it to me. Im just wondering how much they said you owed & what the out come for you was after dealing with these people. Any info would help greatly the number they gave me to call back was 888-490-4925

They keep calling me as well, but when I request an address, they will not send me a copy of the owed bill or an address. I requested that they email me the letter stating I owed and they wont do that either.  I reported them to Federal Trade Commission.

I am a lawyer.  You need to stop immediately and ask for verification in writing.  They can continue to charge you until you are dead and you will have no recourse.  They go after charged off debt, or old debt, pass the statute of limitations.  They cannot repossess your car or your house, and it is not cost feasible to take you to court for a small amount.  This is a civil matter and they cannot take you to small claims over a debt passed the statute of limitations. They do not have a legal right to do anything to you if they cannot validate the debt in writing or refuse to pay something that is more than a certain amount of years old (check, each state is different).  However, you can "re-age" a debt.  Meaning, if it is old, and you start paying, the clock starts from scratch.  Pull your credit report and scrutinize before you move forward again with any action.  Google the consumer agency in your county to get solid legal advice.
