Easiest way to stop the calls is to block the calls on your local phone.
If they use a real company name then you call that company to report it to them if the company is an official one.

Never give out anything thing that is about credit card,  financials, age, district you live in, bank account information, email addresses, or anything you want to keep private.

never be fooled by these scammers to use against your life and steale you personal information.

Got a call from computer tech scammer with foreign accent, caller ID Wyoming 307-243-5143. He said  they got notice that my computer has a problem, etc. When i asked, "How did you get my number?" He said "We are going to f*** your wife!" I told him to go F*** himself and hung up. he called again, I told him to take a long walk on a short pier and hung up. he called again and said,'"Don't hang up. be a man." I said'you're running a scam and i'm reporting you." Hung up. Verizon tel co gave me a number to block unwanted calls.. Pick up the phone and press *60, then give the annoying caller's number. I tried it an got a recorded message that said, (paraphrasing:) "we are not able to fulfill your custom calling request at this time. Please call again." Geeze!

For a thread entitled, "How to report annoying Telemarketing calls",
this thread is certainly getting a lot of reports that more appropriately belong in one of the number threads.  So, the answer might be: "post your report in one of the number threads, bu using the Phone Number Search box to your right or at the bottom of the page.

This is a test, to see if anybody actually reads answers:
Here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report phone scams, or learn more about them.

Look here first, for an article right here, on 800notes!

If the reporting site you wanted is not in the above list, try this one:

I hope you posted this also under the number that called. All you have to do is plumb the number in the search box located either to your right → or at the bottom ↓ of the page depending on the browser used! :)

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Report your callers here, not just to the DNC alone:

    https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1
    https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action
    https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

    By State DNC lists:

    FCC Abandoned Calls Complaint form:
    http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/1088D-R.pdf
    email:  fccinfo@fcc.gov

To file complaints on Foreign company's:

    E-mail: econsumerwb@ftc.gov

Thank you for the informative post.  However, I have done this for the Fair Processing Marketer that keeps calling my business and it has done nothing.  It's a shame that we can be harassed like this by these parasites.

The FCC does absolutely NOTHING they barely care. The "REMOVE ME FROM YOUR LIST" is bull. An FBI agent I was able to track down was kind enough to tell me , these calls are so blatant now and the public is aware of them that the FCC doesnt have the time or inclination to follow through and the scammers know it. So your best bet is just to hang up or threatened THEM saying the number they are calling has been hacked from overseas. And that is it . If you are inclined have some fun with them but the FCC report page is a total waste of time.

Since I installed a call blocker device on my phone, I unplugged my answering machine and have noticed that I may receive one call since it only rings and no one picks up. Then I block the number and area code and if they are stupid enough to call again (which they eventually will), it just gets cut off immediately and doesn't ring in my home. They will try a few more times but eventually stop. Even if they change numbers within the same area code, those are blocked because of the area code so it is fruitless on their end.

I have read these sights for the do not call lists. The bottom line is this: if u have ever bought from -for example- Penneys, then ANY corporation owned by penneys, or any subsidiary of Penneys, can call u and be completely within their rights. The do not call list does not protect u from these calls. It stinks and in and of itself this law is a protection of the companies and not us.
