I have just received one of these calls.  Had one a couple of weeks ago but it was a woman, I put the phone down straight away.  This guy today wanted me to switch on the computer but I said my son had it at school.  He wanted me to switch off my internet then switch back on.  He has badgered me for a time to ring tomorrow, so I gave him a time when I know for a fact no one will be in.  The number by the way came up "unavailable" but he said he was in Australia.  Like previous people have said, I never give my home phone number out, especially on computer.

Wasn't at home earlier and missed a call from 002064560661. Any time I miss a call from these strange numbers I check it out as best I can. I have no doubt that this call was from some scum / scam artist. What ever you do don't play their game. Hang up on them.

I got the same phone call today. I was annoyed because on my caller I.D. it showed up as "Unknown Caller".  He told me my computer was sending him error and warning messages and that he worked with Windows.  He wanted me to go to my computer and I told him i can't and he hung up. The number he gave me was 914-373-7861.

My favorite comeback line to this guys:

"Computer?  What computer?  I can't afford a computer!  What the heck are you talking about?"

Works every time...of course, they still call once in awhile.

I have had the same calls they started around 3 months ago, i have only ever had a man who sounds Indian, but at the same time you can hear something like call cente noise in the background & most times an echo of the conversation. He is getting to be a real pain, I have told him its a scam & not to ring this number again but i can guarantee within a couple of weeks he is on the phone again. My Mum has even had the same call & she hasnt even got a computer, so its obviously fake.

Received the same type of call today. Hard to understand the caller because of his Indian accent. He said his company was 'Global ??' and my computer had a virus he could fix. Caller ID showed company as XFMT OPP and the phone no as 209-220-1908. I have a system that alerts me if I have a virus ... I received no alert from that.

This must be a scam that is circulating.

Another line you could use is, "My computer got stolen, Can you help me find it"?

Or you could use this line, "I have hundreds of viruses in my slow computer. Which virus are you talking about"?

    I do
I got several calls from this number. Only just now I heard somebody talk. Some guy talking english with an indian accent. He told me my computer was sending him error and warning messages and that he worked with Windows and he wanted to know when my computer was on, so that they could supervise the "cleaning". When I said i"ll do it myself, he replied that that's not possible. He has to do it with me. I said that I won't and then he yell"d that I have to and that I am a monkey, so I started to laugh. Then he asked me why I am laughing. I replied by saying. This conversation is over and I am hanging up.

I just got a call today.

An Asian/Indian/whatever guy called and claimed to be from a company called "Creative Solutions." He said they provide service for all Windows users. He told me that for the last 2.5 weeks they had been getting reports (supposedly from my computer every time I went online) of junk and malware being downloaded without my knowledge. Yeah, right. He told me I could Google the company name, which he claimed would prove they were legit. He also gave me a phone number I could call him back at: 403-456-3966. He kept asking for me to go to my computer, so he could walk me through something, but I just kept screwing with him. The computer I have Windows on hasn't been online for over 2 months. When I pressed him for the exact dates they received the reports, he hung up. A Google search of the company name turned up nothing (big surprise!) and a search on the phone number came up with reports of a scam. He had my name and address, which he probably got from the phone book and I imagine it was a calculated guess (or it's on the Internet somewhere) that I have a PC.

The No Name Calls came in from 1-222-555-7777. After about 5 calls today, decided to answer one and an Indian mumbled some name they were trying to reach which wasn't ours, told him that and hung up.
Then an hour later, I decided to find out what the scam was and let them have it. Just as described by other folks above, "affiliated with Microsoft", something wrong with your computer, it's a service, blah blah.
I asked him for an 800 phone number to call him back saying it had better be a Microsoft office to substantiate. He gave me 347-227-6192.  He became frustrated and belligerent when I kept asking him questions, instead of going to my computer to start accessing administrative tools, as he was telling me to do. Finally, I delivered the "Do Not Call List" demand, suggesting that lawful businesses are aware of the law--and hung up on him.  Time to block that 222 number!!
