I live in the Netherlands and got several calls for the last 2 weeks from: 002064560661. But I wasn't at home at that time. Today I received a call again, similar to the ones mentioned here. At first I listened what the lady with a strong Indian accent told me but I stopped when she asked me to run an url (something like: www_dot_support_dot_me). Also the same story: my pc was infected with malware and constantly generating traffic with their computers...When I started asking critical questions she put me through to a senior emplyee: she said they had tried to update my machine remotely with Windows update. I'm happy I didn't fall for their stories...
i never received a call from this idiots. But have worked on computers, networking and IT for years. i was going over the logs here and thought of something to have fun with the dumb F%^&S., in the event i get a call from them. I would play along with them.. not giving out personal info of course.. but when they try directing you to the website, i would tell them i'm having an Internet connection problem and can't get online now. I doubt they would know what to do at this point. PLEASE do not follow anything they say though, just go along with it and keep telling them you can't connect. Wonder what the record would be for keeping these morons busy.. or if they would just hang up in frustration :))))

I got a similar call last night. I told the caller he must be mistaken as I do not own a computer. (we have 4 in the house). He then asked not even a laptop and I said no. He then said he would take my number off his list.

I've received 2 calls from these individuals within the last month. Living in Maryland, USA, it came up 1-206-456-0661 on the phone. I passed the phone to my husband (the computer guru of the house) and he tried to tell them that we have no viruses and that he'd just run a scan. After the call, he ran another scan (the kids use the laptop for schoolwork and stuff gets in there all the time) and nothing new came up. Today's call was a lot shorter: I told him that he told me how to fix it already and everything's fine. Everyone's post seems to think they're Indian. Are they Indian or Nigerian? They sounded Nigerian to me...
Most probably Nigerian from Nigeria or some Nigerian living in India working alone or with his fellow Nigerian scammers, or working with Indian scammers.
had a guy today call same deal.. i have heard of this before as a friend of my wife got the same call. what they do is want you to turn on pc then he will ask for your ip address. then much like a tech service guy ask permission to access your pc. when he is on your pc he pretty well has free rain and one way or another gets personnal info off your pc..eg. bank info, credit cards, and personal stuff that can be used for identity theft
he had no idea the guy of network we are running. our network is very secure. we are also very computer savy in our home so i knew the guy was full of [***]... i told him this and asked for his work number and i would call him back after i had time and would not give out his number....i called him a few inappropriate words...including racial slur and told him to find another sucker cuz i aint one.

I am in Brampton,ON, and got a call from a "Private Caller" on March 5, 2012, at 10:01pm. The caller, with an East Asian accent, told me his name was Daniel and asked me how was I doing. I yelled at him for calling me this late. He said he was calling for a very urgent matter regarding computers. I asked him "what was the need to block your called ID if it was that urgent". He gave me his number as 204-272-8888. I calmed down and tried to play along but the guy figured out I was not going to give him any useful info and hung up. Oh Dear! I regret not being able to waste your time, "Daniel"!
What ever you do, don't download anything from that. That is a scam. Report it with your local authorities. People should be aware of this. Unsuspecting people could unknowingly download a very bad virus. Where I live, the local authorities will run an article in the paper for consumer beware.

I had gotten a text message from 3479772612, stating I was selected to receive a $50 wal mart gift voucher! And to call 8775523586 to claim it. and to TXT STOP TO STOP. I'm already aware of the many scams out there. I'd be willing to bet if I were to call them back, I'd start receiving more annoying phone calls from them. The best thing to do is to report these scams to the local authorities, who will then at least warn the public and possibly stopping an unsuspecting person to fall into their trap.
