Hey, friend: I'm telling you, these folks call my office at least 3-4 times a wekk, so much so that I actually look forward to them, I get such a kick out of busting their chops! I'm like the other person, I act all compliant, like Susie Sausagehead, and go, "oh, ok, I think I can see it from here...(sound like I am stretching to see) and I come back all cheery with OK, I have it...it is "DROP DEAD" !!! HAHAHA ! I love it I swear! It takes them a second to realize what that spells, and they do one of two things - hang up, or spell out the word [***], or something to that effect. It is hilarious! Of course, the computer dials the numbers so there's that 2 second delay before they speak, then it sounds like they're at LaGuardia, it is SO obvious!!! Anyway, I've been a secretary since the late 70's and I swear this has been going on since then!
I told her I knew it was scam and she said "What are you, the secretary? like that was a worse job than being a scammer. Next time she called I laughed like a loon that she was foolish enough to call AGAIN (10 seconds later) and told me I should be a witch for Halloween.
Tell Melissa you'd rather be a w***e than a liar and a thief.

We just had one person call is twice in five minutes. First time he called he said he was Dave with Your Copier Service. When we asked to clarify, he says it again. He thens hangs up when we asked if that was the name of his company.
Five minutes later he calls, I answer and he said the same thing that there server had crashed and they were trying to touch base with there clients. He said that he need the numbers off of my copier. I asked which ones. He told me the model number. I told him I can't give him that since we don't have a copier. He then starts to drop the f@$# bomb and cursing. Asking why we were string him along. I just set the phone down and let him talk to the empty air till he hung up.
NB: I am not suggesting that you should do any of this - in fact I am telling you that you shouldn't. If you proceed against this advice, you are on your own.
FILE UNDER HUMOR
For those of you who enjoy sticking it to the scammers, here are some suggested copier models to give them when they call:
Xerox 813 (a model from 1963) 3M Thermo-Fax “Secretary” (1950's era) HP 2840 (low end older color printer/copier with an expensive set of cartridges) Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5045 ($10K high end color copier)
Given that the "supplies" are garbage, you shouldn't use them in your copier anyway, so why not give them a copier model that they probably can't find supplies for, or for which the cost will be a bit higher than the norm.
Just make sure you are very clear that you do not want to order anything from them before the call ends, and be prepared for their harassing calls trying to get money from you when they ignore your instructions.
As for the "supplies" take a snapshot of them in the trash and post it on the net. Then you can give them the URL when they call.
I wonder how many folks would have to do this in order to get them to quit stealing from people?
...but I assume we would then get supplies that don't work on anything we have, and then the bills will follow.

I used to ask them what company they were calling from, but they'd just hang up, so it wasn't much fun...I like to use the passive aggressive tactic on these people now. I try to sound real naive and say...well our copier is clear on the other side of the floor, but Ill be happy to go look for you if you don't mind holding?...they hold every time, then I just put them on hold and see how long it takes for them to hang up. The funny thing is that they usually call back angry...and then I ask them what company they are calling from..hahaa! it's great! I should start telling them when they call back that I was getting ready to answer when they hung up! and that they need to wait a little longer next time! After all...it is REALLY far away!

This company has called us 4 times within 45 minutes. All 4 were different people of course. They were ALL very rude and used a lot of foul language when I told them I was not interested. The best one was one lady named Elizabeth called and it went something like this.
Me: This is Rebecca, how can I help you? Elizabeth: Hi this is Elizabeth with Customer Service for your Copier, I just need to get the numbers on your copier to update your file. Me: We already know you're a scam and I've had 2 other calls already, I will call the Better Business Bureau if you call back again. Elizabeth: F**k you, you little b***h, don't think that we care.
That obviously didn't help because Tom just called and it happened all over again.

I GOT THEM! Ok. So they called and asked me for the numbers on my copier. Instead of doing the normal and just hanging up, I was feeling like I should have a little fun. I let him ask for the number and he said it may have letters in it. I gave him. I - as in India, D- as in David, One, Zero, T - like tom. He read it back to me, ID, Ten, T. I assured him he was correct. After he read it out loud, folks in the background laughed loud! Another gentleman got on the phone and asked if I was sure the model number was ID, 10, T. I repeated again yes. He asked if I was calling "him" an idiot. I said, no. Just your company for thinking people are gullible enough to buy into your scam. I asked that he please remove our number from his call list and he thanked me of "burning the new guy" - Serves ya right!! ID10T (I, D, 10, T) Have a great day, Yall!
Yes, it does end the same EVERY time! They hang up immediately when you ask what company they work for. I just received a call from them, caller id blocked. I've also asked them directly "how can you work for a company that scams people?" They deny that their scamming people but eventually end up hanging up on me! Total waste of my time. I used to think it was humorous, now I just think it's a waste of time. I've also thought about putting them on hold "while I go get it" and leaving them on hold for a VERY long time! I will be very direct with them next time and tell them not to call us back again! There should be something that we can do to stop them.
