You posted this here and then reposted it in an entirely new forum thread, when you should be posting to the threads for the numbers involved.  You can find them by using the search box that is either to the right, or at the bottom of the page (depending on your browser).  To make things easy for you, the links are:

Centurylink only blocks 12 for me.
I have a Panasonic KX-TG7741 that lets me block about 25 numbers I think. I keep a list of the number of times each calls so I can thin the list as needed.

Hi, has anyone gotten this number? 392-779? Anyone know who/what this is?

It's too short for a regular phone number. It's just one of about 30 calls I've gotten in a week from spoofed numbers. I might try to change the number at some point, because it appears to have gotten on some robocall lists, but I don't know if it will help.

You just answered your question-they're spoofed numbers. So you would call the number and rage at a person that had nothing to do with the people who are calling you?

There is a separate thread for this kind of number.

I think you can just ignore those calls. However, if they are harassing you, it really makes sense to look into it. If you prefer to block such calls you can follow the steps How to block Specific Calls

I agree with you - I am getting really tired of Comcast. You pay them big bucks and they give you very little.  Problem is no competition for them.  Yes, isn't that a joke only 12 #"s can be blocked! I guess I could replace some of them with this V that I've been getting lately.

Once again, the V-string is not the number calling you. It appears in the name field of caller ID while the phone number, spoofed or real, does appear in the number field unless they are suppressing it. This string is placed there by the V-dialer.  It consists of three parts: the month and day; the time hh:mm:ss in 24hr notation at their location; and the call number in the current dialing sequence, a number from 1 to 99999.  This is the default CNAM information the V-dialer uses unless the call center has programmed an actual name they want displayed.

Just got the call with the V.  Called Comcast and the agent said that it is a scam and that the FCC is aware and that Comcast is logging each time a customer receives this call.  They have been asked by the FCC to collect the information when a customer calls Comcast to ask about this kind of call.  Also this time my phone number was also displayed so it looks like I am calling myself.  A long time ago I did computer phone data and I think a V held down for a certain time would collect all information regarding a phone number.  not sure on this but it would make some sense that some one is trying to comprise a list then start calling people and have some information that maybe valid.
Comcast said not to give out any information if I answered the call but I have no desire to answer.

When I did *69, it called back to an actual phone number. It was some kind of place pretending that I won a gift. They asked if I called back to claim my gift. LMAO. Scammmmmeeerrrrsss.

They are.  This showed up on caller ID V00417554100006-then my home phone number shows up after that.

Regarding the long string of 18 digits after the "V":

The 1st 3 digits after the V are the last digit of the month then the day (e.g., today, 10/17 is showing up as 017).
The next 6 digits are a timestamp (probably in local time zone of the caller or calling computer): HHMMSS.

The next 9 I haven't figured out yet.  Some people have seen their own phone number in those digits.
Could, in theory, be used as a tracking number - so careful if you post it somewhere.

Can you tell me why no one respond when you answer those annoying calls. What's the purpose?
