We would enjoy getting a link or at least some benign search words to assist our search for those British songs.
Finally got a male caller at "Rachel from Card Services" to laugh at this one: "Does Rachel like doing it in the a$$!!

They've called my home phone almost 100 times since Nov. My husband answered once and my son once and both times someone asked for a Manuel or Daniel or Danielle but were so heavily accented no one could tell but both times they said they were from a company called Midland Funding and were trying to collect a debt. But every time I answer the phone they hang up. So I filed a police report against them for harassment and the next time they called I didnt say "hello I repeated the police report number and they havent called back since.................but its only been 2 days so lets hope.

Just buy a Teleblocker off of Ebay. They are cheap and you can block Unknown, Private Number, Out of Area, an entire area code, selected prefix, or up to 500 seperate numbers. I have had one for about 6 months and after entering every telemarketer number that called me, along with the functions to block Unknown, Private Number, and Out of Area calls, I rarely ever get a telemarketer call anymore. If I do, I just enter into the Teleblocker with a push of a button. Tell them Bill sent you if you buy one!
Just set up a home answering machine and have it ring twice then the answering machine picks up. You can screen your calls that way. These people are usually debt collectors and it is a scam. Don't ever give out any personal information to an unsolicted phone call.

Private, Unknown name, Name Not Found ..... 000-000-00000 ----->> easy to block
Do some research and do yourself a favor ---->> go to Ebay ----->> Search for latest Call Blockers that have capable blocking No Caller ID (which is Private, Unknown Name, Name Not Found ...etc) ----->>> this should cost around $25 to $50 .
I have 2 of these devices and it works great ---->>> peace and quite now

I really have a problem with this scam, since my elderly parent also shows as private caller and although I have an agreement that they should leave a message and I will return call immediately, occasionally, I answer the phone, if I think it might be from them. Usually, I am right, but this morning, just after 10:00 AM, received a call reading private caller and answered. Person on other end asked for me by name and could hear boiler room noises in background. I think I just added my number to another telemarketing list and I already receive up to a dozen unwanted and unsolicited calls every day. I thought maybe Sunday AM would be safe, but apparently, nothing is sacrosanct any longer.
It happens that I have a relative who works in DC and I am elderly, and I still know not to answer any call that doesn't clearly indicate who the caller is. For a while, I was getting calls from DC from a representative's office because, somehow, my number got programmed on her phone, even though I am not in the state she represents.

Got another Private Caller call at 12:22, didn't answer this time and no message left. Have a feeling it was probably from the same place that called earlier today. Boy, was I dumb to answer the first one!

There is technically a difference between Unknown & Private calls.
Unknown is when the phone company is unable to retrieve the data being sent with the number. An example was a friend of mine that would call using certain calling cards. I would see unknown name & number at times. Otherwise it would display a city & state with and offbeat number.
Private is the intentional blocking of the callers information. I used to block my personal number when I was calling a number that was new to me.

Private caller again at 3:11 4/7! Third time today. Calling every 3 hrs. or so. Can't they at least give us our Sundays? Rhetorical question, of course. These creeps don't care who they disturb or when!
Thank you for clarifying the difference, however, it doesn't help me distinguish between scammers and calls from my elderly parent, therefore I had to make an arrangement that I would call back immediately if they left a message because they aren't going to change their designation.
I figure its their way of getting around people that block private calls. I am not sure if you have experienced this, but I recently blocked a number. Over the next 48 hours I received about 6 calls from a private number. It appears that companies will pull this tactic to get around having their number blocked.
Ignoring the calls is NOT a solution to the problem! Really people?? Ohhhh "just ignore them....they'll go away!" UMMMMMMM..NO! How about an actually solution? Something I can physically DO to find out the actual number for real...??? anybody?
I haven't attempted to block calls, but as I mentioned my parent's # has been blocked for years now. I have been getting such calls for a long time also, but yesterday, first thing in the AM I answered one and then I had two more from Private caller over the course of the day which I didn't answer.
At 11:15 PST I received another call, and since I was on the phone with my own private caller, I knew to ignore it and there was no message, just a hang up.
