- Payback replies to MARIADont get threatened by a bunch of cowards hiding somewhere making repetitive phone calls with different numbers. They cant do a damn thing. Why did you pay them? You should never ever give them even a dime no matter how hard they threaten you. Ignore all their calls. Just put your phone on silent. They are playing with your head to get you to pay them. Just ignore them. Why should you be afraid? They are the ones who should be afraid.
- PaybackEverytime somebody falls for their threats, the scamming cowards win. Dont let them take advantage of you. Dont fear them. Ignore them until they get caught.
- toby replies to MARIAIf they are harassing you at work, show your boss all the info here, especially the articles explaining the scam as described by the FTC. (See "Latest News" here.) Make it clear to people at work that these are criminals and not real debt collectors and that you do not owe them anything. Have others tell them you do not work there anymore when they call. Also, file police reports and file FTC complaints if only to document a pattern of them victimizing you. Every time they call demanding money based on fraudulent debt, they are committing a crime. But most of all, DO NOT PAY THEM! Once you pay, they never stop calling because they now know you are vulnerable and can be intimidated.
- Wane replies to AlfalfaI was scammed for $145.00 on March 15,2012 by someone who gave his name as Mike Dawson he had me send that money to one Paras Handa in Delhi India after telling me I will get a loan for $1200.00 to repay over a twelve months period. He later called again instructing me to send another $150.00 for tax purpose which I became suspicious and did not follow through with same.I later called him back demanding my money back of which he told me someone from his office would call me to complete the return, up to this moment I have not received this call. I made numerous calls to his number which is 206-734-4587 and as soon as it rings it goes busy and no one answers.I am replying to you so that the authorities can put these crooks out of business and cease from destroying innocent peoples lives.

- Marcy| 1 replyI have only gotten 5 unknown calls today and it's 5:53PM where I live. I had a nice quiet day. Having time to think it occurred to me that it sure would be fun if there was a way to give the phony debt collectors numbers to the pesky survey collectors and vice versa. I think the next time someone calls here I will politely say "No she moved and her new number is" and then I will give them one of the other numbers that keep calling here. mhuahahahaha
