STOP Robo Calling by Reporting them to the FCC Online

Looks like, since it's November 2016 and they're still making robo-calls on the same number that the FTC isn't worth a [***] when it comes to the call-raping that continues on. I can't get over the number of phone calls I get... I just don't answer unknown numbers anymore and if it's important, they'll leave a message.

Nothing will be done unless you do it yourself by getting a phone with call blocker function. I never answer my landline phone any more. I check the number then block any that aren't on my phone list. This would be trouble if you owned a business,

It has long been my standing that eduction provided by the service providers and carriers is sorely lacking. They need to be made to take more responsibility for allowing this fraud to continue. SCAMMING AND PHISHING CAN ONLY SUCCEED IF THERE IS A MARKET; AND THE MARKET NEEDS TO BE EDUCATED AND REMOVED ! They are bottom feeders that have no limits, conscience, or mothers. Legislation (DNC) and you are the only controls.
   If you dont recognize the name/number, DO NOT ANSWER. If you happen to answer, DO NOT RESPOND IN ANY WAY; NOT BY VOICE, SELECTED NUMBER OR CALL BACK! If it is in the form of a pop-up, text or email, DO NOT SELECT A LINK. Assume any response to be a hidden link... (to hell). After all, they are scammers and you dont really know what you answered or consented to do, give or buy, for which your number may be billed. If email, open full address, take a screen shot then delete. KEEP ANTI-VIRUS APP UP TO DATE...on computers and phones.
    Texting is a way to get around those of us who do not answer. Do not respond. Take a screen shot of the entire text, save it then delete the text. REPORT
    A legitimate company notification will identify you by name and never use a link....no matter how real, authentic, promising or threatening it appears. Call your private contact number to check.They will probably request that you forward it to them in some form...varies.
    And don't waste your time with cute answers ..there's no satisfaction and they don't care. They just move on to irritate or hook the next sucker. The longer you keep them on the line, the longer your access is open.
    You can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for any and all unwanted and/or unsolicited calls (cell or land-line), texts, scams, phishing, ID theft, and others at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/Information#crnt
   A legitimate caller will be identified, will leave a name, message, and call back number, giving you the option to respond. It will respect the DNC. You can file a complaint about offenders on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. Your registered number does not expire. Be sure to register your cell phone too.

Someone from a Boiler room keeps calling me from 562-274-2452. The number is below, but the name display says V003065887914. Weird. I called them back from another line, and a man impersonating a Womans voice answered acting silly, then the voice dropped to a Mans deep voice. I wonder why people have the free time to screw around like that. Whoever it is needs to get a real job.

PFFFT! I reported so many robo calls to the FCC/FTC, they may have too much to handle.  lol  So many scammers! they take 1 or 2 of them down, 10 more pop up.

They are over-worked, I'm sure. However, we (as a whole, not you in particular!) need to do a better job in reporting these. I've been pulling the DNC Complaint CSV files the FTC has published, and I don't think we're helping as much as just complaining.  For instance, in the last 30 days, 51% of the FTC complaints have a subject of "No Subject Provided" (over 1,507,410 complaints filed).

In order for the FTC to investigate and prosecute these people, they have to be able to build a chain of evidence from the phone number to a person/business. With Caller ID spoofing, the phone number alone just isn't going to do it. When I file a report, not only do I set the Subject, but I talk to the telemarketer to try to provide names of businesses given, web sites, other related phone numbers, and sometimes even look up Registered Agents for the businesses. One article I read, the FTC agent stated that sometimes the subpoena chain can't be made from the phone number to the perpetrator due to incomplete information, invalid (spoofed info), records not always retained long enough, and more. They can only act based on the quality of the data we provide to them. We have to help them in order for them to help us.

Aye, that is a fact!
Given the quality of most of the "reports" here, in 800notes, the data are not only insufficient, but worthless.

Examples may include reports consisting of nothing but swear words (and no real caller identification), requests for the govt to export, shoot or otherwise punish unnamed / unidentified callers, and requests to "shut the number down", with no identification.

Another, frequently misused statement is "they left no message" ... in those cases, there is NO indication the calls were from telemarketers ... and the DNC list deals ONLY with telemarketers.

You, as well as several posters here are well aware of that problem, but it seems too many people are unaware that the FTC must follow LEGAL avenues to pursue violators.  They can't just wave their magic wands in the air and stop calls being transmitted on common carriers.

It is calling "spoofing" - which is illegal - and says alI need to know about the caller.

Good luck with card services,  I actually spoke with one of their  "reps". I  know  she wasn't suppose to tell me, but according to her the system is set up  so they CAN NOT take you off their list and that the employees are told to tell you that they did and hang up. So they scam you and the employees.  I've reported and nothing is done.  Spoof callers too. Info on your phone caller ID is false. I've even called myself, and so has the local church, bank, fire department, police department, and the village with their robo card services robo call on the line.
