STOP Robo Calling by Reporting them to the FCC Online

Today I have received five calls already from "Erin Baker" who has a slightly different message than the infamous Rachel and the even more infamous Heather. The Erin Baker calls lead to the same old same old, "Account Services" or "Cardmember Services."

I usually get a couple of calls from these scam artists every day just about. Mostly they have been automated messages along with a spoofed caller id. Student loan scam, Marriott scam or no one on the other end. They try to call using legit company numbers too, like AT&T. All these scammers want to do is get personal information and try to bulk money from you. Never verify or give any information to them. Side note: Why post to a old forum?

Good question. Why did you? Did you at least post in the correct thread for the number that called you?

Won't do any good to report a spoof # - or even a real # ! Keep doing a *57 ( call trace ),if it's a landline.

Won't do any good to do a *57 ( call trace ) unless you file a police report each time, since they are the only ones able to utilize it.

Until a few years ago,800 notes was my go-to website for identifying telemarketers and robocalls. Now, with neighbor spoofing, any number can show up on ones caller id, a local hospital, police department ect. I've only found two ways to beat em' with a cell phone. One is to get a third party app that will block all calls except those in your contact list, or create a "silent ringer" and make that your default ring. Assign an regular ring for your contacts. Most telemarketers won't leave a voice message, but hopefully the real hospital caller will.
