Attorney General Bondi Sues GSA Applications Company for Misleading Business Practices


TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office filed a complaint against an Oldsmar, Florida-based company allegedly misleading small businesses by claiming to be the U.S. General Services Administration or implying a government affiliation to offer a five-year GSA contract. The Federal Verification Co, Inc. dba GSA Applications conducts business through more than 60 business names and more than 50 websites. The company and manager of the businesses, James Dale Sprecher, allegedly used telemarketing to solicit small businesses and guarantee them a GSA contract within a short time frame, 90 days to six months, for an upfront fee ranging typically from $5,000 to $8,000. A GSA contract allows a business to sell goods and services to the federal government at pre-negotiated pricing. Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office received more than 200 complaints about the defendants’ unfair business practices.

The Complaint alleges violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. According to the complaint the company allegedly:

· Makes false and misleading representations as to the likelihood of a customer successfully obtaining a GSA contract, including assuring the business that it qualifies for a five-year to 20-year GSA contract award;
· Makes false and misleading representations assuring government-guaranteed minimum revenues upon a contract award and a 100 percent guaranteed return on investment;
· Unfairly collects advance fees, up to $10,000, from customers before services begin; and
· Enrolls customers without diligent review of their circumstances, adequate disclosure of requirements pertaining to the customer or its products or services, or regard for the customer’s meaningful probability or being awarded a GSA contract.

I worked there 2000- 2008. Scam scam scam! I have more info that would take a day to go over. The main co is Countryside Publishing LLC. Not sure if they use it. Also Federal Suppliers. I couldn't sleep at night knowing we were taking thousands and not doing anything. I to was part of this. I got out. There is too much to write, what's going on there. Please please stay away! I worked for the processing company for a couple years until I recently had to move. I don't even think James owns the company, I was always told a guy name John started that company. Who then got involved in another business up north. I'll be the first to admit that I heard qualifiers towing the line of what kind of company we were! But I've been in sales my whole life and every office I've ever worked at I witnessed unethical sales reps, but I've worked at companies that blatantly encouraged us to lie or mislead the customer and I was never felt like Gov't Processing did that at all. In fact there script was pretty clear on defining us as a company that processed GSA applications and State registrations for the government. And I didn't get to know all the closers, but I know the ones I did talk to were very careful of who they signed up and they went through the approval process thoroughly, because if they signed up a company that didn't qualify, the processing department would kick it back and they would not get paid their commission. As long as the companies we were trying to help, did in fact meet the required qualifications then of course the sales rep would ask for payment up front. "Old school girl" sounds like she got fired and is pissed off at somebody. I only set a handful of appointments that turned into sales but all my sales actually did receive their GSA award and all of them were done in less than 6 months from their sign up date

You work there now and that makes you a liar and a fraud. Think about it. You think you are doing something noble by coming here with this story and defending them. But you are convicting your own conscious. LOL! Fraudsters never can see their lies for what they are. They think they have integrity. But it is crystal clear to the entire world that they do not.
