Illegal collection agency - Wilbur and Associates, Bloomington, IL
- BigA replies to AbcdefgNo, I don't believe Wilbur can place a suspension according the the information on the BMV website if you didn't cause the crash:
http://www.bmv.ohio.gov/susp-ins-security.aspxQuote:Security Suspension
A security suspension results when an uninsured driver causes a crash with more than $400 in property damage and/or a personal injury claim as indicated on a Crash Report (form BMV 3303).
It also appears that once you sign an payment agreement you can have your rights restored.Quote:Reinstatement Requirements
Submit a payment agreement or release signed by all parties for the damages
I would suggest that you contact an attorney as I am certainly not thoroughly versed in Ohio law and can't give you legal advice. The only thing I have to go on is what they have published on their website. - Kat replies to Afraid2say!| 4 repliesWhat's "the bmv"? You mention it several times.
- Kat replies to AbcdefgWhy did you change your name? You first posted as Afraid2say! and then as Abcdefg.
- BigA replies to Kat| 3 repliesBureau of Motor Vehicles.
- Kat replies to BigA| 2 repliesYa learn something new every day. I've heard of the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) but not the BMV.
- Old Friend| 1 replyWell, I was driving my prize van down the street in Arizona. I hit a porta potty from PPP Industries in the rest stop parking lot. PPP says I did damage to their property, but porta pottys aren’t covered on my policy. Is Wilbur and Associates going to pull my license.
- BigA replies to Kat| 1 replyI guess Ohio wanted to be different.
- Captain Obvious replies to Old FriendI don't think they will pull your license. But I do think many people posting in this thread are pulling our leg. Much like posts in the "Can a debt collectors show up at your door" and "Can I be arrested for defaulting on a title loan" thread, I think a handful of trolls are trying to repeatedly put one over on the regulars.
But, much like PPP porta potty, the trolls are full of it! - Jo replies to Yoda1725| 3 repliesNo plz believe him. They just did me the same way today. I'm going to file against. Them this lady keeps calling my house threatening me. Call me a [***] and my 13 y0 daughter these ppl are pass CRAZY OMG
- Tygerkat replies to JoPlease believe who about what?
- Resident47 replies to JoAfter processing your entry through my Thumbtalk-to-English translator, I can make observations.
- Nineteen months ago Yoda said "Not sure I believe you" in response to "Resident 10", who had bleated that "Wilbur [sic] ... got my license suspended". Thus you are pleading with Yoda to instead "believe him".
- Much has been written here since then to disprove any blanket statement that Wilber or any other subro collector can directly cause license suspension.
- "Resident 10" was among fifteen previous personalities in this thread who were obvious shills making very questionable statements. Several others who were borderline shills have also latched onto the same remark from Yoda. They've all been trying to convince him that his position is wrong, often rudely or incoherently, and that Wilber poses a grave threat.
- So many have harped upon that one comment from Yoda1725 because it's on the front page, suitable for short attention spans, and simple even for grade school dropouts in the collection industry to comprehend.
Now ... because we don't have all the answers here for a difficult subject, and the issue could be highly variable depending on a person's residency, it would be very nice if everyone would quit telling ghost stories. Halloween was two days ago. Screeching "YES THEY CAN" and "look it up" and imploring us who to "plz believe" is not how truth is found. I must rest it there, having my own real legal battles to continue, right after I raise my shill count to sixteen. - Laquittaheard replies to Kk| 2 repliesI know right I'm still paying should I stop and how much is a lawyer to handle this
- Tygerkat replies to Laquittaheard| 1 replyWhy are you asking a person who posted 2 years ago? Do you honestly think they will return to see your questions? And this is a phone number look-up site. No one here can give you legal advice, nor the cost of a lawyer. Maybe you should contact an actual lawyer and ask them how much they charge.
- TheRealSeriously® replies to TygerkatBecause these people rarely if ever look past the first page
