Received two calls today from 202-241-2796, both recorded messages saying that they were the Federal Govt. and we were being investigated for "IRS Fraud" and left a number to call them back right away. Hubby redialed the number that the call came from and it rang once and disconnected. I blocked the number through our carrier and less than 30 minutes later we received the same automated call from 202-750-1631. Blocked that number too. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.
We too just received a call from 202-750-1631. Very scratchy connection but clearly an automated call. Some guy with a bad accent asked for my wife and when I asked who it is the call disconnected.
Yep, I just got two calls at different times of days from 202-750-1631. Bad recording as you said, some girl not asking for any name, but saying she is an officer. Oh brother. I dialed the number back and the recording said, state your name and I'll connect you. I said Rachel Rae and i was connected to a ringing phone. The recording said, "the google user at this number is not available". HA. Really? I just left a message. STOP CALLING ME.

It would be MUCH better if you posted those phone numbers in the Phone Number Search block, to your right. That way, the complaint will be seen in the appropriate place.

I just got this phone call, they called me twice in less than half and hour, same wording, they would go to my access and freezes my bank accounts and etc.... Im glad that I came to this site to check, Thank you all.... we are our own police! ;)
Hi, I just got a call from this same "Kevin Jones" as well, although for such a common "American" name, both he and his supervisor sounded a lot like they were from the Middle East. They gave badge numbers, and they both read off a rather lengthy list of charges against me, and IRS jargon like regulation numbers and such. When transferred to the super, he asked me if I had transferred any money to outside the US via Western Union. Now I knew something was wrong. I asked him, "What does this have to do with the topic at hand?" He said that I was under money-laundering investigation as well. The fact is, I had sent 100 bucks to a girl I met in the Philippines, but I didn't mention that to him. Instead, I said, "I still don't understand what this has to do with the IRS," to which he replied something to the effect of the local sherriff's office would be here in the next hour with an arrest warrant, and I needed to hire a criminal attorney and call the super back. Complete bologna!!
Forgot to mention that after getting transferred to Kevin Jones' super, I said I get scam phone calls all the time and "how do I know that I'm even talking to the IRS?" He repeated the arrest warrant thing, wrapped things up quickly, said goodbye, and then hung up. Really weird.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here: •report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484. •You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
****** Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.

Don't get duped
Male caller with Indian accent left several voice mails on my phone claiming he was from US Treasury, that I needed to call him back regarding some tax problems and if I didn't, I would be subject to civil and criminal charges. The man said he was "Steve Martin" and the number that showed up in caller ID and that he left was 619-467-3809, from La Mesa, CA. It is a registered landline with YMAX communications, but couldn't get any more info. Beware. I didn't bother to call back. Saw posts elsewhere of this scam.
Tried to call back after getting the message on my answering machine about a pending lawsuit so I could give these numb nuts a bunch of fake numbers and info. Recording said "out of service." But just to illustrate how dumb these jerks are, the voice on the message machine said that they were calling from "internal revenue services." Note the plural. Illiterate scammers are such a pleasure!

My mother got a call from David Wilson and Jacob brown phone number (425)304-1656 threatening her to freeze her bank take her license and within thirty minutes to be arrested. After a half hour conversation of threats and saying she can send 400 dollars and make payments on balance today would save her from being arrested. They had her address both phone numbers and other information. I would like this looked into and stopped. Some sick people want to harass elderly and handy capped. My e mail is [removed]@yahoo.com
All you have to do is put the number in the search bar located either to the right → or at the bottom of the page ↓ depending on the browser being used. The information you need is there!
