- Another P*ssed Off Dude replies to SydSyd-
Don't call them, unless you plan on calling them back repeatedly to harrass them back. (Another poster on here did something like that...look up the post from "2 Creative Not 2 Get Even".)
Otherwise, either don't answer. Or if you do answer, just press a number on your phone so it makes a long, irritating tone in their ear until they hang up. - LeeLee replies to MonteiaTell them let it unfold. They are not supposed to say things that are not true. I too, have been told that something will unfold! Im still waiting.
- Syd| 2 replies"52946605" showed on cell phone Caller ID, others report "052946605." Voice message w/ Indian accent to call back 619-342-0173.
- Julia| 144 repliesHi everyone,
Danny Leighton, a producer for The Fox Television station is doing a story on the fake payday loan scams and needs our help. This discussion only has almost 200 pages, and he wants to speak with the most active contributors and with the users who just have an interesting story to share.
Please give him a call at 310-877-3392 - Worcester Ma1-916-395-000 saying the same thing CA John Washington Law Group. Scam don't give them any information. Says there is a law suit against me. Got my phone number from a payday loan app and they hang up if you say its a fraudulent call and calling FBI
- Me Too! replies to Lori DanzyOnly now, they are texting me saying "you may have won $1,000,000 dollars". Idiots! Do they think they can text from the number AND call from the same number and I won't make the connection?
Here's the latest number they used on me: 666-092-0300 - michelleI received a call from a 646-351-1232 sayiny they are from the us department of justice and one guys name was eric landon and the other was john foster , and they said that they were representing advance america cash advance. I called there and they said i dont owe them anything and said that there are many scams going on with people faking that they are debt collectors.
- JohnThis has happened off and on to us for about 2 years now. This was reported about on a t.v. show, I can't remember which one, in December 2010.
It usually sounds like the same guy, with I think an Indian accent? He usually says something like this..."if you do not call me back, a situation will unfold upon you. All I can say then is, good luck."
They have said that they were from a branch of U.S. government which doesn't even exist; threatening that if I did not call back by a certain time, that the police would be coming to my house.
I am so ticked about nothing being done about these financial terrorists. On the t.v. show, it said they were using offshore internet based telecommunications, which are supposedly very hard to trace. Even the female reporter was threatened by them when she called them. Surely, there has to be some way something can be done about this, with all the technology our federal agencies have? - JessUghh a new one now 970-984-8940..Do they ever stop!!! its been over a yr!
- Kellyannez2Got called from 724-320-6609 today about a "emergency criminal matter". This time it was a woman. In the past it was a different number from a man. All have heavy eastern indian accents. They are coming to arrest me blah, blah, blah. I called the sherrif about it but there isn't much they can do. All I can do is block every new number they call from. The sherrif told me if you have ever owned property its in the public records and thats one of the ways these creeps get your info. It's upsetting to me that no matter how carful you are nothing is safe with people like this out there.
- lanelois@live.com| 1 replyI have had a call from an Adam Smith. They used Oakview law firm. Today it is Nationwide investagation. I think they think we are all stupid we can look up stuff too. I love when they say they are in New York but the numbers are from Canada, New York, Colorado, South Dakota. I am sure most people in these state do not have and Easteren Europeon accents. so here are the two numbers I have:
803-402-4056
315-538-9900 - Lori Danzy| 1 reply+1310-404-5211 Text offering a loan, same number called a few days ago and it is the same people who are responsible for the harassing phone calls I have received for the last few months stating I owe money. Same voice, same background noise. Now they are actually trying to get hard working people's information by pretending to offer loans. BEWARE!!! They are scammers!
- A "2Creative" Fan--LOVE your style! replies to 2 Creative Not 2 Get EvenI found a post from you (2Creative), and I tried your tactics. A little time consuming and I had to be willing to listen to them scream profanities, but guess what? IT WORKED! I haven't had them call me for quite some time now.
For anyone else reading this, 2Creative had a great tactic to get them to not want anything to do with you anymore. They don't seem to care if you are going to "report" them, because they are foreigners who don't have to abide by U.S. laws. I am pasting in 2Creative's ideas below, but I strongly suggest you try to use a block on your phone so they don't know your number:
"I received multiple phone messages on my business phone from both a female and a male with identical scripts in very broken english with thick, almost unintelligble accents.
I wasn't born yesterday--and because these people are scam artists AND irritating me when I have real work to get done--I took a few moments out of my day to screw with them.
First, I called them back and asked them if they needed directions to the memorial service or the funeral showing. The male on the other end said "I do not understand what you saying" (very broken english, thick accent). I then asked, "Sir, what exactly was your relationship with the deceased? Because the memorial is open to everyone, but the viewing of the body is for family only." He started in with "you must relay a legal message to XXXXX XXXXXX" (my name X'd out for privacy purposes). I told him that would be very difficult, considering XXXXX XXXXXX passed away six days ago, and my job was just to direct people on how to get to the memorial service. He stuttered a bit, then said "sorry to bother you" and hung up.
Oh no, I wasn't done there. I am just WAAAY too creative not to get even with these idiots even more. I then went online and filled out every "have an agent contact me" scam I could find. I entered their name (John Jackson, Mike Jones, or whatever name they gave me on that call) and their phone number (661-532-8529, 661-270-6412, 661-368-5263, or whichever phone number they gave me that time, and yess they all start with 661 or 972 or just come up as 268-0005) for free insurance quotes, free daily horoscopes by phone, free debt relief help, free home improvement memberships, etc. Hopefully that will cause THEIR phone to ring off the hook with telemarketing scum and scammers.
But wait, there's more. I couldn't just hope they would get lots of calls, I had to make sure of it. So I signed into Craig's List for one of the biggest cities (most populated) that I know of. I listed an ad stating that I was in search of a payday type of loan, and for anyone in that business to call me and help me through the process. Again, I listed his name & number.
Then I went into my "spam" folder in my email and found any email that said something to the effect of "you inherited large sums of money from Nigeria" (as an example) and responded to those emails with his name and phone number as well.
Yes, it all is a little bit evil of me, but because these guys aren't in the U.S., I really don't think that our law enforcement is going to be able to do anything about it other than stick it in a file. I have filed complaints with Law Enforcement, FBI, FTC, every government agency I could find that is supposed to handle these type of things. I keep also finding out that a lot of these lines are issued by Pacific Bell Phone in California, and I wonder, has anyone considered going after the phone company that keeps issuing phone numbers for these terrorists to use to harrass all of us? Maybe if there was a class action lawsuit against the phone companies, it could require them to do a little more research before they sell a phone line to just anyone. (Such as requiring they be in the US legally, and having a physical location so that if the line is misused, law enforcement could find the guilty parties.) If anyone has the means or informatin to start such a thing, please post a reply here. I would very much like to participate in that.
If I come up with any more creative ideas to get even, I will definitely come back and post again so that you all might have some of the same fun!
Good luck everybody and absolutely do not give these guys any of your personal information, much less your hard earned money." - sharthey called tonight from 212-777-3456 if you call its a recorded message about what movies are playing. on and on it goes...
