Fake payday loan collection scams - Please list new numbers here.

I was getting calls from 817-400-6871 with the same as many here are saying. I almost paid them because I thought this was real because I did default on a pay day loan. Thanks to you all here I have now become aware of this scam. Another interesting thing is someone got into the voicemail and has warned everybody about this number. There are so many numbers here, that guy needs to get all the voicemails!!!

Its not helpful to those of us trying to shut these [***] down when u put numbers on here with ?? at the end if u have info and numbers put them if not don't waist our time

I have called a lot of the numbers on here so many times they hang up on me or it goes to a msg I call them when they answer alot of times its a diff name and when i say a diff name called from this number they hang up I'm depressed they wont answer me anymore no more fun for me Fin with the cow hum**rs :(

The number showed up on my cell as 000-000-0000. the 347-729-16?? was left on my voice mail.

They number I got today was 1-267-217-3176 and also 904-335-8127x130.  After I told them at I would
contact police and hunt them down and I would taked them to court, they put me on told and then they
did call back.  But now they are calling from a different number.  They call me work and my cell phone from unavailable or 000-000-0000.  They are foreign (Indian) and have the time I can't understand them
They have to be stopped.  I could lose my job .

I got a call in Dec.2010 from a guy saying his name was Paul Smith the number he used was 917-284-9294 I basically told him where he could stick it. We have never had a payday loan. He tried to threaten me, but I don't scare too easily so that did'nt work. I thought I was rid of them until today. I recieved a voice mail from some guy called Grace Miller 347-729-16?? his accent is so thick and english so broken, I couldn't understand the last two numbers. The last one might of been 2. Has anyone else gotten this number lately ? I know they are using a gazillion different phone numbers. I hope somebody does something soon, but to me it looks like finding a needle in a haystack.

another number i got a call from today 360-261-2913. I have decided to ignore the calls hopefully they will then give up.

got a call, from a jason white, he said he's been calling a few days now, trying to help ME with a cash advance loan collection that i no longer have. called from 347-607-3630. i hope we can put these Mofo-coppers behind bars! next time they call, i'm gonna let em know, i'll be tracking THEM down, and sending the police to them with the call being recording. how'd they like that!?  >=]

let me add the new number the people are calling from i got a call today i let all calls i dont know go to voice mail and he left this number 2532429463 claiming  to be with the Federal Crime Investigation and his name was Justin iverson

My husband has been harassed for the last week by, whom I believe, the same people. They have middle eastern accents and threaten with the sheriff, claiming to be an attorney. This alleged debt was questioned by my husband, by asking for an account or reference number, but they flat out hung up on him, moving on to the next potential sucker I guess. Please do not fall for this scam! I have two numbers to add to the long list 347-602-9391 (Alec Brown) & 281-763-0444 (no name given).

716-748-6237 left a [***] message threatening me about a case they cannot find and yet they want to blow me up at work & home for something they say I did but no proof of. FRAUD if you ask me

Ginger- do not fear these people. They are scam artists, as anyone on this site will tell you. For more information on who to report it to, go to www.ftc.gov and file a complaint with as much info as you have. Rest assured, all the threats they are giving you will amount to nothing. There are no criminal offenses attached to not paying any kind of debt. The worst that could ever happen is a civil suit against you to retrieve the money you owe (if, in fact, you do owe money). And these are certainly not the people to give the money you owe to. They are crooks and scam artists. Browse through this site and you'll see the magnitude of this criminal behaviour. It's quite overwhelming. This site is very informative and there are a lot of knowledgable people here who would be glad to alleviate any of your concerns. The fact that he gave him name as Jeffrey Brown when I am sure he's Indian, right? That should be an indication that he is full of crap. LOL! If he were for real, he would use his correct name and not to mention, phone number and company name. Beware, as I am sure he will call you again. Just make sure you have the FDCPA list (from the link above) in front of you and just start reading it to him. Sometimes, if you show them you're a little too smart for them, they may go away and move on to the next target. But, remember, they CANNOT do anything to you.

I knew someone was going to misread what I wrote. I am just saying that people should not condemn a whole ethnic group for a bunch of bad apples. Gee, as far as Indians being immigrants; I seem to remember from my history classes that Italians (which, by the way, I AM) and Irish people were immigrants at one time. And I'm quite sure you've heard of the Mafia? All Italians certainly didn't come here to make legal and legit and honest livings either. Not to mention the ever famous Irish mobs in the Boston area.  So, don't imply that all immigrants come here to screw us "Americans", who, also by the way, aren't naturals to this part of the world. Remember, we white folks stole this land from the indigenous people that were living here before us. But I suppose you don't care about that either? I'd be willing to bet that you also think all Spanish immigrants are drug dealers? I was simply stating that if you want to make a statement like "Either they stopped using this number or they're praying as per the Muslim holiday"(which I am willing to bet that was an implied slur on the Indian culture) you should probably at least try to get it right. It's much funnier when you say something that is a fact. Next time, try telling these Hindu's that they are going straight to Naraka, which is Hindu for Hell. They'd probably laugh at you more if you made a comment regarding Muslim in an effort to make your point. They already think of us as "stupid" Americans. And, also, to set the record straight for you, I am posting on this site because someone DID threaten my livelihood. I'm just not going to think that everyone in their particular ethnic group are scum. Remember, they are doing this because they are evil, not because they are Indian.

Oh and the guy who called me said his name is Jeffrey Brown and that I have legal action against my name and that if I don't call him back then he can only wish me good luck in what will happen.  WTF?

I want to call the proper authorities to report these calls, but I'm not sure who to call?  Any ideas?  Do I start with the sheriff and go from there?  I'm in Ca. by the way...

Thanks for this site.  I'm not happy that these scumbuckets are doing this all over the country, but I take some comfort in knowing that I'm not the only one--and that people are on their trail to get them shut down I hope!
