How about debt collectors abiding by the law?

How about making it the law that any illegal tactics automatically exonerates the debt, rather than a "drop in the bucket" $1000 fine?

No, that wouldn't work; they spend $millons on bribes...oh, excuse me, "Campaign contributions" for those who write the Federal laws.

Now they just have to tell you they are criminal so and so before they make their illegal debt collection texts. What a joke, why aren't these slime balls incarcerated???

ALL COLLECTORS ARE SCUM!!! replies to Alabama
Well Alabama, where are you really located?  You sound like a typical scumbag "collector" scam artist!  I have had several of these lying bums call me trying to "settle" "debts" that NEVER existed in the first place!  And no, I wasn't the victim of identity theft either.  They just harass people over and over, trying to get you to "settle" a supposedly "forgotten" "debt" for a few hundred bucks and then move on to their next victim.  As for just "file bankruptcy", that won't stop the worst of this bad lot either!  I know people who continued to get harassing phone calls from some "collector" LAW FIRM claiming to represent Sears for years after they filed chapter 11.  It finally got so bad that the people took my advice and went back to Bankruptcy Court and got the Sears debt kicked out of their repayment plan, and were awarded nearly $8000 for legal fees and other damages!  But guess what?  That has been over two years ago now, and they STILL haven't gotten their award money!  Worst of all, Sears then turned around and SENT THEM NEW CHARGE CARDS ON THE SAME ACCOUNT!!!  WHAT MORONS!!!  All of you "collector" [***] belong in the middle of a shark feeding frenzy, cut and bleeding!

I get calls from collection agencies for someone that had my  number about 5 years or more ago.  Am I supposed to pay those just to get them to shut up?  I tell them each time they call and ask for James Smith or Jim Jones or whomever.  Number 1 I am a FEMALE they ask for a MAN.  Number 2 EVERY time they call I ANSWER.  I am at the point where I have them on  my     auto number blocker.

All those concerned who've been scammed should know that if you complain to the BBB or FBI, or local sheriff it won't be of much help as he's in India with more than 2,500 majic jack applications and does IRS fake scam, Phantom debt collection, advance fee loan scam etc.

The right way to get these economic parasites can only be apprehended and punished if you call the US of A Embassy at New Delhi...the number is (+91) 2419-8216   (+91)98-1120-1964,   011-91-916-416-5567....I cannot mention the legal attache's personal number over here but you can give my reference to Mz. Rachel Pieffer the legal attache of FBI at New Delhi and they'll get 'em crooks by compelling the central government of this 3rd world [***]-hole....more than Bashir the guy who's to be feared is named Raffiudin Ballu 0-75750-44566...he lives at a minority ghetto called Juhapura in Ahmedabaad which is the NOTORIOUS hot bastion of these activities ...'coz of these monsters the faith of Islam also gets Tarnished....one thing's for sure if you let 'em go, another 9/11 is awaiting to occur....call my number +91 990-490-3408 and I'll provide you the number of the hon'ble Ambassador as well as FBI attache to you...GODSPEED 'US of A'...AMEN!

Solution: They should have to pay the debts theyre trying to collect! That way they get penalized AND they can't call back because the debt is paid! Yep. Another problem solved. Sweet. Now you all can get some sleep.

How is the phone company gonna stop them while they are harassing people themselves? AT&T is now calling and texting people to tell them they have a due date coming up. Even people who are on auto-pay! It's true, no way the phone company is gonna stop the calls when they get paid for every single call, including the ones they make to us!

How about you have a couple knees split and see how well a scumbucket like yourself takes care of his debts. My guess: using every scam the collection attorneys suggested on the other side (yes, most attorneys advise how to avoid the law, not how to comply with it).
