FTC Needs to do that with Apple Tech Support they are portraying they work for Apple when they do NOT and try and sell you Warranty, Go get Google or whatever money cards, plus they take your computer hostage.  Called Apple and they had no employees by that name. Apple should be going after them as it reflects on them and these employees are lying that they work for Apple when do not!  Talked to Christian at Apple, that's who the Apple Operator transferred me to and explained what Apple Tech Support was doing, consider it highly illegal!

Maybe if people began to name telephone companies, government agencies, corporations, and political activist groups as additional defendants in said lawsuits, as well as sued them for their own crimes, then they would actually get serious about ending their half-hearted approach to taking down the scammers?

I am always fascinated in comment sections when there will be two clearly marked sides of an issue, when there comes a random-[***] commenter taking a new, super strong position that's at best tangentially relevant to the topic at hand -- if not outright nonsensical to begin with.  And not only that, but their irrelevant position is argued forcefully and with an attitude of self righteous smugness. What an odd duck...

Buddy, nobody here is complaining about debt collectors who follow the law and respond courteously and sensibly.  If your position is that you are enraged by people who are upset with law-abiding, courteous debt collectors who would never harass or continue calling if the law prohibited them from doing so, then you are enraged by a non-existent situation.  Because.... [***] duh, that isn't a situation that yaknow... happens in real life. Your self-righteous smugness is effectively calling out nobody, get a clue.

Do you ever hear of the "PENALTIES" going to anyone OTHER THAN THE FTC?? Does it go to the victims? NO! This is a money making scheme to make the FTC appear relevant and justify their tax payer funded GOVERNMENT scam! Remember EVERYTHING the government gets involved in is made to SOUND worthy at the outset, but becomes nothing more than a money raising SCAM in short order! The government LOVES hearing about your problems, so THEY can capitalize on your victimhood as much or more than the "criminal(s) they pursue! NOTHING GOES BACK TO THE CONSUMER OR TAX PAYER!!! NOTHING!!!!!

You just responded to a post from 2013. These posts are anonymous and bill collectors do not follow the law. They get caught scamming, they pull up stakes, move someplace new, and change the name of their company. That is the reason they use P.O. boxes----they put real address on their paperwork and the person who they are trying to get money from shows up at their business to kick their A**!

Even civilian officers of the court are using spoof numbers and leaving fake messages to get a "higher pay spiff". I had one guy spoof a local phone number and a fake name. My friend used his professional license to look it up. Fake! He is an officer of the court or is using a family member to do phone location skip tracing. He left the message "Hey i got a message from your phone number to call back" then that was it. I got other phone calls as well. All within seven days. Prior to this, I only got text messages from people I know. No calls for the last two years. Letters from the collection agency came a week before that. I was hit from behind at a red light and have been disabled for over two years now. Waiting for the wrongful injury lawyers to settle or we go to trial. The collection agency has internal lawyers who pay sheriff deputies and private civilians who work for companies that serve court papers/subpoenas ... also known as officers of the court. They have to be verified and sworn to uphold.

Call received today from 1-833-634-3908 from "Receivables Management partners, LLC"* and left no message.  When calling back the number the recorded answer is "Thank you for calling.......;* if you would like to make a payment, please press 1."  If I have no debt and pay bills on time, why would I get such a call!?!  SCAM
