- wds replies to OldmanAside from not paying attention to what the first message said, how do YOU know folks haven't paid? What are you? a paid spokesperson for this outfit? --oh yes, and your "righteous" concern is so evident...
- sigh... replies to Idea for Lawsuit Against Debt CollectorsAfter reading your post, I have to know one thing...can you actually tie your own shoelaces...WITHOUT help? Since you have such extensive legal knowledge, why don't you know the CFPB and FTC's stand and decisions on the Foti message (that's what its called, F. Lee Bailey). I won't even bring up the fact that you didn't even state it correctly. Nor will I bring up the intricacies surrounding it. As well, your statement "Btw, the collectors aren't really great about updating their records, ether" is laughable. Collectors are meticulous about updating records. How do you think they find you? Your overall English skills make you sound as if you're in the 8th grade and are riding on the short bus. Get a job, move out of your parent's basement, and by all means...PAY YOUR BILLS!
- AnonymousIf anyone who lives in Massachusetts gets a call from a payday loan company, just hang up! They are illegal in Massachusetts!
- GreggI was one of those getting calls from persons saying they were US Federal Marshals about tax evasion etc. The ones caught in Mumbi, India. I called the FBI and Homeland Security and NSA about this and for several months worked with them to catch these crooks. I recently got a call from a similar scammer and traced the call to Forsyth Georgia. I called the police there and gave them all the info I had obtained. Because of this they were able to break the case and make arrests. My advice is that when you get these calls take down the info use the web to locate the calls and then call the Local and State police and the FBI and Homeland Security. These calls are under Domestic Terrorism law and can be charged with such along with other crimes. You should also work with the local DA's to file charges against the scammers, etc. These scammers can be stopped by working with law enforcement.
- Saltyone replies to AnnoyedI thought that Mervyn's could have sold the debt to one of these lowlife agencies . That's what goes on with these thing they are sold down the line until it pennies on the dollar when it gets to the bottom feeders that's when you get the turds calling you with threats.
- vrcsIt has long been my standing that eduction provided by the service providers and carriers is sorely lacking. They need to be made to take more responsibility for allowing this fraud to continue. These crooks can only succeed if there is a market AND THE MARKET NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND EDUCATED.
- Mr.JonesWe pay our bills, have no debt, yet moron debt collectors keep calling our number in spite of being told the person they are looking for DO NOT live at this address, have this number and ARE NOT associated with anyone here.It is extremely annoying to get calls from those bottom feeders when one has to repeatedly tell them to stop calling, there is nobody by that name here. After the third call, I reported them to the FTC and also, filed complaints with my local police. Harassment is illegal, its not up to me to make them straighten out their facts.update their contact records and make sure they are obeying the law.Attorneys and courts will do that if they persist They should know these things before calling people.
- CharlesMessage said "this is your callback you requested for a back brace". Scam, just as others have noted.
- cerony replies to JohnI know for a fact that telephone company's have did the math and rather roll the dice that they will not get fined for not installing
equipment/computers to detect and block spoofed - VOIP phone calls.
Also the phone company's charge a monthly fee for call blocking, various star services, etc.
A fee that people pay that is bogus. Any other company / manufacturer who sells goods or services that are fake or fraudulent can / will be charged with a crime or fine.
Why don't everyone get together and sue the telephone company's for selling a fraud service.???? - agreeable nancy replies to PAphoneadvocates.com - I couldn't agree with you more, the phone companies need to step in here... 800 notes is a nice venting location and I use it to confirm that a number is a pos telemarketer, but there seems to be a wealth of info here that could definitely be used. I wish I could download the most frequent of violators numbers to have them insta-blocked rather than get the call, confirm its a doosh and then block it.
- Fat FornicatorI found an easy out within the first few lines of text. No doubt their lawyers did as well...
- Tito ZamoraI get a call from this number daily! No message! Nothing!

- HockeyGrl replies to So done with these idiotsTHANK YOU! I'm sick to death of being HARASSED daily by the bogus scams and debt collectors. I do not have, nor have I ever had a payday loan or anything like that outstanding. It's frustrating and the FTC never does enough in my mind. I've thought about changing my cell number, but then I'll just get calls there. Our information is for sale. It's horrendous.
