got a call from them and I let it go to voice mail as it came in as unknown. the voice mail that they left stated that it is an attempt to locate an individual. they give a case number. if you call them back they answer investigator unit investigator so and so.  not sure who they are. that is all the info that I have gotten so far.

I just got a call and an automated message telling me they're trying to locate an individual. No doubt a bottom feeding fake debt collector or some other scam artist.

Just received a call from these sleaze. Would not give me a company name after I asked multiple times where he was calling from, stated he was a private investigator who worked for himself.......then proceeded to want the last 4 of my social. Bottom feeder scum.

Do not answer, do not engage these morons. You will not be served, no one will come arrest you.

If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

this number calls my elderly mother and father claiming to be investigators and give a name of the person they are seeking.  we have stated many times that this person does not and has not ever lived there but we can provide them with this persons address and phone number....their reply "no, we aren't asking for their information, this is an attempt to locate".  Really? I'm telling them exactly HOW to locate, yet they don't want it and claim to be investigators? why call if you don't want the info idiot!

They called my mom..And about gave her a heart attack. Told her I was going to go to jail and face consequences, if I didn't call back with in 24 hours so she called me and then I prodced to call the number..So I call and they answerd as a Law firm. And I said what do you need they said I could settle it outside of court by paying 1500$!! I told them they were crazy and that I would call the local PD and they said the PD wouldn't no.. Because it was a precall so I asked to talk to the Attorney up there and they said I need to give my debt card to talk to him because he cost 250 a hour and I said OK my uncles a lawyer.. and they hung up don't listen to it its a waste of time!! Just hang up they did have my social though!! That's all I have

I get the exact same calls, but the person they want to locate is me. I never return the calls. They are Old Pay day loan scavengers and bottom feeders. Let's face it, if they were REAL investogators, they would know where to find me and how. They wouldn't have to call over creation looking for me. They area joke. This has scm written all over it!

Same call. Scammers for sure. They have called my work number and my cell number. I just tell them to come and serve me if they're serious and they never do because it's not legit. These idiots must not realize that we can google the number as we are talking to them idiots.

Received a call from this number. Left a voice mail saying they were trying to locate me (they called my cell number) and that the message should be passed on to me using the case number that they gave.

I received a call from these idiots...Have the last 4 of ssn stated calling from Reynolds, Hill & Associates.  Said loan taken out in 2011 from Loan.com and balance is $2500.  First off all of this is a lie.  Do your research this company doesn't exist.  I was told they are located out of Columbia, SC nothing for anyone by this company name.  Second Loan.com is an informational site that can direct you to lenders but they are not lenders themselves.  Please don't fall for this.  Their case numbers do not follow any judicial case number format either.  If they were a real collection agency as they are operating by calling in regards to debt they don't own.  They are required by FDCPA to send an initial letter know as 1st dunning notice.  They don't follow any collection laws set by the federal government but claim they are on a federal recorded line.  If they were on a recorded line they would have to notify you due to some state laws require consent from all parties to be recorded. THIS IS A SCAM DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR STUNTS! File a claim with your state attorney general and the FTC

For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. The threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names

I just got a call from this number too. From the other posts, I am not going to call them back.

How do you get them to quit! They called twice today, called my son, my daughter and elderly mother in law! Sick and tired of it!

I just received a call and let it go to voice mail they change their number in which they call from but it's all the same racket.  I block all these number as they started calling yesterday and when I called them out on what the call was about stating I owed $1500.00 for a loan I took out with my bank none the less,,,HA I still bank there and have never taken out a loan with my bank. They hung up on me and sure as sh*t they call from a different number or location but all the same stuff.  I called my bank and informed them that this place is using their name stating they are calling on their behave considering this is a well known bank they were quite upset and was sending it through to there fraud department.  I have called the BBB, my general att office and filed complaints however, it will not stop them I wish it would it puts them on notice that's it.  They will move on with different numbers to call from different names to use and different tatics.  They are scum and make a living prying off hard working people.  They know exactly what they are doing.  I have never been so stressed out before ever it totally brought me to break down in tears today.  I don't know how to get it through to these a**holes I don't owe anything.  Now the gentlemen I spoke to through the Att General's office said NOT to talk to them NOT to call them back let the other people they are calling looking for you to do the same or to have them to them they have never heard of you.  That's all we can really do right now.  Good luck to all including myself.  

You can also block their phone numbers.  If your phone doesn't block numbers, you can buy a good call blocker for $60 or less on Amazon .com.

I get a call from them daily and at my mother's requesting or threatening for payment on a debt I have proof I paid off 2 years ago. When I stated I had this information I placed on hold, then told I would be transferred and put into a voicemail. If you wanted proof and want to help me why not take my call. I have received calls from several different scam debt collectors threatening on this same debt I have paid over the last 2 years. I like how they get silent and have no threats when they realize they not getting me to fall for there scam.

I got a call from this number today with a case number saying they are looking for me.  I didn't return the call as instructed by the State Police and my attorney.  I've been going through this crap for 2 years and I am sick of it.  I have changed my cell phone and work numbers and we are debating on the home phone since these people use my name on the message not even knowing if they have a correct number.  I don't want someone thinking I'm a deadbeat if this number was reused.

I got the same call as well, but these people cntinue to call my mothers phone number and they still have my madien name, not not married name. Its funny how they are after you as they say but they dont have any updated information regarding myself.  I have been dealing with these people for over 5 years now, some have been shut down, changed there numbers and  according the the ATTY Gen Office there is nothing they can do, even the law because there people are from over seas. They buy phone numbers from your state to make it sound that they are liget. I have filed several complaints with different ATTY General office depending what state they say there calilng from and when they investage it, the company moved or the number is disconnected. INTERESTING...  I just wish there was something more that we can do. Some people tell me to hire a lawyer and he maybe able to a site together for harrassment, but there is never an address that is correct to send them anything or a cease and desist letter.  ITs getting old fast.

Has anyone ever recevied any papers in the mail or a statement stating that they owed this bebit? I have requested from this one company Swanson and Walker Assoc. for my debit statement stating what I owen about two months ago and still never received it. Thanks
