I have been on the do not call list for 5 years and renew frequently.  If a person / company chooses not to comply with the do not call registry then you will get calls from them. You cannot report a number that is unavailable (blocked) or bogus 000-000-0000.  The do not call list has pretty much become an abject failure.  Here is a good article about the effectiveness of the do not call registry and details on what I have summarized.

Seems that the 'Stephen from Windows Technical Support' scammers are at it again. Just got a call from 'Stephen' (with a heavy Indian accent). Shouldn't have picked up, but I was expecting a call from my sister.

Do you not understand that they are also giving out bogus numbers when you look at your caller ID?.. They can't do anything about a non-existent number, period. So reporting that number would be pointless. They would then have a report about a number that isn't a real number so who are they going to tie that number to? With computer technology it has become just as simple to show a false number over caller-ID as it is to show a false e-mail address over the internet. People have been able to do that for a very long time. I was just called this morning from a 000000000021620, which is not even a valid number unless it was international. Even then I'm not sure that's an actual number. I can't find it anywhere online; not even a record of anyone else being called by it. When I look at my phone records it doesn't even show that it called. I answered but they/the machine must have broke the connection right before I did so because I looked back down at the phone and wasn't connected after saying hello a couple times. Otherwise I can only guess it was a computer error on Tmobile's end.

Have received numerous calls from "UNKNOWN CALLER" for the last week! It has been a male saying that he is with some computer company, that they are getting reports from our computer that there is something wrong!!!  "Yes, there IS something wrong it is YOU trying to get information that is NONE of your business!!" Of course, he hung up!
The next call, the next day, yet another male, saying the same story, and I said "I don't know who you are"...he hung up! Then I've answered a couple more times and they have hung up on me!
GET A REAL JOB!! STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE!!!

I did this and I got more calls.  They sell your number.  you are exposing your number by submitting it to them.  It is a scare tactic.  I can't stop the calls!

My brother received a call today from that same 000-000-0000- asking questions about the phone he is using-
I told the caller he had to call back since I couldn't answer his questions because it wasn't my phone. He said thank you and hung up.
My brother has one of the free gov. phones and that is the phone they called on.
He had a call from his worker coming in regarding what info to bring w/ im and didnt want to miss the call while he was getting ready to go to their meeting
I'm wondering if this is something to do with that?

Received call in early morning which woke me up. I only answered ot because I was scheduled for appliance delivery that day. The caller was searching for this person with th same last name as me who livds in the same state as me. I dont know this person and tell the caller this.  My question is how did they get my name and number.  I have only had tbis number for a month and opted for privacy so my number would not be sold. Any thoughts?

Received calls from 1-000-000-0000 twice in the last few days. Sounds like the guys from Iyogi who will fix your compute on line for some rediculous yearly fee.

This idiot called me before, because I remember he told me his name is Percy, but he has a heavy accent. He said he was calling from Microsoft and there was a problem with my computer.  He told me if I turned on my computer he could tell me exactly the day and time that someone hacked into my computer, causing the problem.  When I #69 the call (he is calling on a landline) and saw 000-000-0000, I knew it was a fake number.  What can you do to stop this?
