I have been receiving these calls (000-000-0000) for a week now, unfortunately I picked it up once, dead air on the other end. I think the first pick-up may have locked in my number with them; has to be scammers. Any other suggestions other than to have Verizon charge me to block it. I will report it with them however.

Yes, it's been going on for about 6 years with me also, the calls start at about 8:15 in the morning and continual till about 8:30 pm. There is usally around 5-6 calls a day. They only ring once then hang up so I do not have time to answer or as soon as I answer they hang-up. Looking at what I can find out, they call with in the legal limits of a collection agency. The only card my wife has with a company that may use this sort of tatics is HSBC Bank. I only wish I had proof it was HSBC but I am going to keep working on it.

If you want to see something interesting search "SPOOFED PHONE NUMBERS" of which 000-000-0000 is only one of whatever number you desire to hide behind. You will see how helpless you really are and why the GOV_Do Not Call List Won't Work. Your only hope for complete relaxation is to do what I did. Look around on Ebay or any where on the Internet for a phone ring controller or a incoming call blocker, I see ebay has a couple at around $50-$60 but read the specifications carefully and make sure they will block "OUT OF AREA" and "000-000-0000" so don't go as cheap as possible, as of right now, this is your only hope. Verizon would not help me block these numbers, the Do Not Call List cannot work, it's not possible. There is equipment out there "Panasocnic with 30 number blocks" are OK but they still leave one ring get through, I have one in the garage and one in the bedroom. My main weapon sets on the desk called a "Caller ID With Ring Controller". I have it controlling the main phone on the desk and one large aux ringer, all other phone have there ringers shut completely off. You must check the specifications of what you buy but I see no other way out at this time.

Get calls three to four times a day on my cell. True caller blocks the calls and makes a report each time this number calls.

Today is the first time they ever called and of course I didn't answer. I don't answer strange numbers I don't know. Now I'm upset reading about what these sick people do. Why is it that scams like this are allowed to continue for so long? I have health problems, I don't need this sh#% on top. We don't pay our phone bills to be harassed.

Agreed. The problem is---the laws which are in place to protect us are woefully antiquated and have not kept up with the explosion of technology, which these scamsters use to commit their crimes. All one can do is access a call blocking device and/or service to discourage them from calling. We subscribe to a call blocking service through our ISP, which automatically blocks selected numbers and basically tells these callers to "GET LOST". After a while they finally give up and move on to another target.
