Just got a call from this number in SW Ontario, Canada...I registered for the National Do Not Call List, and the 31 days grace period has passed...it was the recording starting with the horn and then, "this is your captain speaking..."...I filed a complaint with the DNCL...even with the exceptions to the DNCL, I haven't had a relationship with whomever this is, and they're not political...I'm getting fed up!!!

Same BS. Something about free boarding passes to some stupid cruise... with calypso music, boat horn blowing in the background, and some idiot announcer guy prompting me to take a survey. I simply hung up. Don't fall for this crap people.

I just received a call from 000-000-0000 as well, and as others have reported, it was a recording of a captain on a boat, probably trying to offer a free trip or something, but I hung up as soon as I heard it. I always hang up when I receive calls like that.

Ugh. I hate phonescammers. What a bunch of [***].

I get the captains cruise all the time on my home phone, but being under that age of majority i didnt expect it on my phone till about 7 minutes ago.
i decided to have some fun and pushed random answers for the survery. apparently 7 is a good answer for are you a smoker. the answers dont matter, they just make you think its an actual survery. i waited to talk to an operator and freaked out saying " OMG NO WAY I ACTUALLY WON?!!?" she said "hah yes" until i told her to screw off and stop trying to steal credit information im too young to have. i also called her a bad word and hung up.

I keep getting calls from 000-000-0000 and then from 0#6-67#-4363. I don't answer them. They come about 9 minutes apart.  Has anyone else received calls from both?  Thanks.

A 4 minute phone call with a survey, but the only info they asked of me was my phone number, which they knew already, and my postal code. Hopefully they don't get far with that. I'm annoyed now that I know it is a scam.

I told them to learn English at the first place, so people actually understand what they are saying.
If that fails, I go to version 2.
I ask them if they are disabled.  They say no. So I tell them to get a real job, perhaps cleaning the streets.

I find it weird that so many people get calls from blockbuster from this number because here when they call me its from a local number and says Blockbuster as the callers name. but I have gotten the "this is your captian speaking blah blah blah" call from 000-000-0000. Doesnt seem to matter that I'm on the national do not call list.

Same thing just happened to me. The have been calling for months. Every time they call I ask for a manager and they hang up. The last time they called I inquired who they work for, the guy must have been new as he still seemed honest and he told me the they have NO affiliation with any credit card company. I smell a scam.

I used to work for Telus and I guarantee you that a number with all 0's is an "illegal" number.  Try calling it back.  There are numerous rules in place with phone numbers and as far as I know, Hawaii is the only area in North America that doesn't follow all the rules.

    For example the number: +1 (123) 456-7890

+1 is the country code.  You dial this to indicate the call is long distance (without the plus sign).
    (123) is the NPA (Numbering Plan Area code) aka Area Code and it must be in the format [2-9][0-8][0-9] - Therefore 209 is valid, 123 is not.
456 is the NXX or Exchange code and it must be in the format [2-9][0-9][0-9] - Therefore, again, 209 is valid, 123 is not.
7890 is the Station code and must be in the format [0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9] - Any 4 digit combination of numbers is valid.

There are, at least, 3 incidents where I've seen a number with all 0's show up on my caller ID.

A Phone Company - They control the information anyway, how hard is it for them to change it?

A telemarketer - It's not hard to buy services that will change your caller ID, as someone on this site said, just google "change caller id".

A long distance calling card - These are controlled by various phone companies and resellers of a phone company's services.  It's not hard to change that info.

    Hope that explains it ok!

    Totally had it
This # is you've won a cruise. On my landline phone, the # has showed up on my phone about 10 times in  2 weeks. Now the # started today on my cellphone. So, I told my kids NOT to answer any numbers on their  cellphone< THEN they informed me that they've got quite a few also.

    Does not matter
Call received at 11:05 advising that I have won a free cruise to NASSAU..Given 10 questions answering them wrong and after the question were completed a person came on the phone and I just pressed a key when they wanted an answer and they hung up...............
