Just got Vonage...
5 months after having vonage i terminated my plan.
Got Optimum Voice.
Then Got This Call.
Didn't Answer.

I got this call twice today. Once in the morning and once just now.

This number called me 9 times over this weekend (Aug. 29-30), even calling me while I was having dinner with my family and calling me while I was asleep this morning.

Turns out it was MoveOn.org, probably taking a survey - needless to say, I was very irritated and definitely going to remove my name from their list.

Telemarketing info help:  If you are on the National Do Not Call List, look and see if your telephone number is on an Internet website www.411.ca in the reverse lookup. The company 411 Local Search Corp. has a Better Business Bureau rating of F.

To contact them to have your telephone number removed call 1-866-411-4411

If they refuse to remove your number with a verbal request, tell them that they are not abiding by the law and that you will contact the CRTC, Phonebusters, FTC and BBB.
 

They stated that they got my phone number by a third party method such as
filling out a ballot somewhere, which is NOT true.

I just got a bunch of these last week:

I never answered any of them and they didn't leave a message.

So I've been getting these calls the last couple of weeks..kinda strange since it started happening when I broke up with my bf but anyway I never answered until today and I heard a guy's voice talking and laughing in the background (sounded American) but I couldn't make out what he said. I'm assuming he saw I answered because he hung up very soon after I answered. It is getting ridiculous so I'm going to call the police tomorrow and report it I think.

i got a call from this number? but not 000-00-0000. the number i saw on my caller id was: 21022274 does anyone eles ever gets this number? this is becoming a big joke to everyone....thanks you who ever made caller id!!

Today we received 5 incoming calls to residential landline from 000-000-0000 listed on caller id as "Unknown Caller".  I did not answer the calls. Several of these calls have appeared within the past 2-3 weeks.

I keep getting calls from this all-zeroes number at home and on my cell phone. I simply ignore each one.

However, there is a twist on my home line. I have a sophisticated phone that I can enter favorite numbers that will give a separate double beep tone after each ring signal letting me know it is safe to pick up. So, if I am not near the phone and I hear that familiar beep-beep I go to answer the phone and find that the number is all zeroes.

I think it is time I give up my land line and switch to a more anonymous communication system.

Scammer or telemarketer keeps calling every day using the 000-000-0000 crap.  Since they harass me by calling I harass them back.

I tried to read most of the previous posts, but frankly it wore me out.  All I want to know is it okay to block the 000-000-0000 calls?  I get at least two a week and sometimes two a day.  I just got a new phone and it has a blocking feature on it, so I blocked it.  Let's all hope it works.  I am registered with the National Do Not Call list and so far it has protected me from unwanted calls.  I've answered once and did the hitting # over and over, but it didn't do much to eliminate my number from their system.  Anyone had any problems lately?

My favorite thing to do with people who I don't want calling me is to enter the number as a contact, but give it a name like "I love you" or "You Rock!"

Try it. I think the randomness of it is a big part of what makes it work. Brings a smile to my face every time.
