Recv'd a call from 0000 on my cell phone and work line.  The man was Indian and looking for someone I never heard of.  He said he was investigating a serious crime and it was imperative I talk to him and help him or I would be arrested.  Does not speak good English at all.

    Not at all interested
I just got this number calling me saying he was a Microsoft certified technician with a bunch of kids making noise in the background.

I told him to take my number off of his list immediately or I would report him.

He finally hung up after I repeatedly told him to take my name off of his list.

This people are just a pain.

I bought a software program for my computer (uses Voice Modem to get Caller ID), then if it matches my blocked list, it answers the phone and plays any dumb message I pick to them

I have one message that answers and says "hello,.............. Yes... I understand,.......... That sounds good...,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, then it starts repeating that about 5 minutes.

Other messages I picked up off the Internet are official Telephone messages, like "Your phone is not in working order", "You must Deposit 25 cents before making a call, "you have been disconnected due to non-payment of your phone bill... etc.

I can hear it ring once, my computer picks up, and I hear either an autodialer trying to tell me to wait for an operator, or a live person who is very confused   :-)),

Call Blocking Software for your computer

These started a few days ago-2 or 3 a day.
Today there has been around 12 or more.
I wish I had kept a true count.  No voice, but twice a recording started---"begin your message----"

If you have VOIP just automatically forward this number along with any other annoying numbers to your most annoying number.  That way the guy who has bothered you the most gets all your repetitive nuisance calls, my version of poetic justice.  If you do not have VOIP, get it, I pay $32 per month total, unlimited calls to North America and Western Europe and cheap every where else.

That is not the number for Bloc buster or collection agency. That is just a unidentified number of no particular origin. That is also probably some digitally programed or rigged number of unspecified origin.

Repost.. That is not the number for Blockbuster Video or any collection agency, that is usually an unidentified number of no particular origin when a caller id cannot get the source of that number. Usually that number is rigged by some programmable source for random purposes. You have to contact your  phone provider to fully investigate the number such as 1-000-000-0000 to get a more detailed proof.

This # has been calling for WEEKS NOW!  At times, three times per day.
It would seem that they would get the message that they should STOP calling when no one picks up the call!
    YET...THEY CONTINUE TO CALL!
Well, they just called me AGAIN.  I hesitated in saying "Hello." But, when I did this man asked for me by name.  I hatefully responded and he then asked "If I wanted to do a political survey?"
I replied, "NO!"  He hung up.
I got this feeling and a very strong feeling that this really wasn't what "he wanted".
Just strange and a very uneasy feeling.
Why do people like to harrass other people?
I will NEVER give nor participate with ANY solicitor, telemarketer, or non-profit organization EVER again, because of their unwanted, daily harrassing calls!

Phonecalls from this obviously spoofed number arrived in three times in the past three hours. I just answered the last call and it was a political survey as to who I would be voting for in the Denver Mayoral Election (but I refuse to vote for either candidate and told the pollster so!)

Just got a call from the number. I try not to answer calls from numbers I don't know (especially a bogus number like that). However, my boyfriend works in DC and when he needs to call from the office it gives really ridiculous, bogus numbers.

I answered and didn't say anything. The guy said "Hellloooooo?" then said "(My name), speak up dear!". I listened for a bit and he started speaking in what I THINK was Urdu (not positive). He then hung up.

I think next time I'll speak in Spanish.
