- SarahI have Sprint and this is my second week receiving phone calls from 000-000-0000. My number is registered on the DoNotCall.gov site. But yet I still receive these calls. 000-000-0000 has called one week 6 times in one day (3 back to back calls in the morning and 3 calls sparactically in the evening) Sunday thru Saturady (entire week). I do not answer because I do not want anything experience of hacking etc taken place on my account. I had Sprint block the 000-000-0000, on 4/18/2011 at 3:56pm I had a "unknown" letter "N" coming through on my phone and this morning at 11:03am the phone number 000-0000 is calling my phone.
What is the sense of calling people at these numbers if they are telemarketer and not leave a message or if you do answer the 000-000-0000 the phone hangs up?
I am aggravated out my wits of these numbers calling my phone.- Caller: Unknown
- mastefroggykeeps calling
- MartiWanted to know if we accept credit cards and if we could take a survey. I said we are on the do not call list and please do not call again. Why would they think that an individual would want to take credit card payments? For what? Unless, they were going to try to get my credit card number out of me. Hmmmm
- Caller: Out of area

- joe replies to FEARtheFEDS| 1 replyyou are obiously the one calling from this number and you want people to answer, because you are full of sh###tttt.
- Nancy HI receive 3 to 5 calls per day. I answered it once and received dead air. I am really glad that my blackberry has an ignore button
- Caller: Verizon
- JoshuaI noticed, that I get this number calling my house a lot.. but the weird thing is, it shows up on one phones caller ID, but not another.. How is that possible?
I also have the feeling of being stalked.. I remember a few weeks back I got a call from some unknown number.. and I answered.. and they asked for me, when I said.. "Yes, i'm him." I heard the guy say "Yes, okay" and hung he up. I didnt know what to think.. But I keep getting calls lately from other numbers, and blocked numbers, and whenever I answer, I hear a long pause, then they hang up. Its kind of freaky. - kommmIt is obviously a call trying to rip people off. A legitimate company would not try to hide their real number by having 000-000-0000 show up on CID. I wish they would try calling me when I am home. I only get these calls on my cell phone and am not home when I get them. But I have a really loud horn that I use when I know it is a rip off call. I would never use the horn until I know it is a scam. But once I know it is a scam I let them have it good. I answer and do what it takes to talk to a live person. Then they get to hear my loud horn. These people usually always where a head set so I know it has to bother their ears. I have done this when receiving other scam calls, and never seem to get any more calls from them after I use the horn. So I suggest other people try it. It will more than likely get the calls to stop. But make sure it really is a scam call before you use the horn.
- The Wall replies to Mark MeehanFeather Larson & Synhorst now “FLS Connect” who raises money for Republican causes. They robo-call, live call, email, junk mail and otherwise contact voters. FLS connect is paid to sway your voter opinion -and only know to do that. The "why" for them is Dollars, not sense. - moonI just got one from an asian sounding woman.

- ChrisI've received these calls for the past few days around the same time. Not wanting to be bothered I added them to my contact list and set them to be forwarded to voicemail automatically. Gotta love Android.
- brookei just received two calls from this "number" this morning. I know it's probably different companies/whatever so no two calls will be alike, but when I picked up the second time (I missed the first), a computerized voice said, "Call from: (silence). To accept, press 1, to send to voice mail, press 2." Because there was no name, I pressed 2 (though now I realize, how could I send someone to voice mail while I was on the phone?!). Then the robot voice said, "Oops [yes, it said "oops!] your caller has hung up."
Pretty bizarre. No clue who it is, though. I am applying for several jobs so I answered because I've had a few calls from weird numbers (including 5 digit numbers--and it was a legit organization that I applied with). In this case, it's probably several different companies using something to zero out their number.- Caller: Unknown
- JETAMESTo everyone -
Fact 1 - the DNC list CLEARLY does not work! Everyone knows this...or should know this!
Fact 2 - filing a complaint with the FCC does not work! A total waste of time. Done that.
Fact 3 - having an unlisted phone will not help you.
Fact 4 - asking/begging telemarketers to take you off their call list does not work!
Fact 5 - no "class action" suits are filed and certainly, this is not a remedy. Many of these telemarketers are in other countries and out of the jurisdiction of the USA.

**** PLEASE DO THIS! PURCHASE A CALL BLOCKING TELEPHONE!!! ****
Call blocking phones are very inexpensive $40-$60 and they come with, at least, one wireless handset. Very, very convenient.
************* DON'T GET MAD – HIT BACK! ************
STOP BEING ANNOYED - STOP BEING A VICTIM - BUY A CALL BLOCKING PHONE!
Uniden and Panasonic make CALL BLOCKING telephones. They’re cheap - $40-$60 and they usually come with a 2nd. wireless handset. And they work beautifully! These phones also block “PRIVATE”, “OUT OF AREA” and "UNKNOWN" calls!!!
I have had the same home number and the same business phone number for over 15 years and my home and my business lines (both published) seem to be on every imaginable call list. I bought a Panasonic call blocking phone for my home and I bought a Uniden call blocking telephone for my business.
NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH TELEMARKETERS. THEY CAN’T GET THROUGH!
We can stop these telemarketers IF we all buy a call blocking phone.

- sandra saltzmani reveived a call from a 0000. he also called my husband, my mother, and my aunt. he claims to be with the dept of criminal investigations. His name this month is Alex Fergison. he says my husband took out a $500 fast cash loan last year and that he was filing a case against him and would provide an attorney...bla bla bla. my husband finally called him back and he said he had his social, bank account, etc. Well, i verified with my bank that this never happened and my bank rep actually called this guy with me on the line and again wouldnt give any info about a case number, what company this was with, anything but my account number. So, my bank is filing a fraud claim, and now i have to close my account and open a new one. i called to file a police report but of course they wont do anything! his number he gave me was 940-335-8147 x-1011 Unbelievable!

- Alicia replies to kristadon't be to sure about that @ not bell. i got that 1-000-000-0000 call last night. it was a bell recording telling me why i should go with bell and the money i'd save if i did. everytime that number shows up (which isn't often, thankfully), its always been a bell recording.
you know what the worse part is? i had gotten a live person from bell calling once, i said no thanks and drop me from their list. soon after i was bombarded with mail from bell for the exact same service i had said no thanks to.
one of the reasons i had left the bell service was because they don't listen. - Alicia replies to mystrysorry to have to tell you but even if you set your FB to private or friends only, your information can still be accessed. the thing is, once you put your info on such sites as FB, myspace, etc... your life is now attainable to anyone. such sites are hacked daily, same as credit card companies, phone companies and yes even government offices are hacked. if a person really wants information they will get it by any means necessary. computers may make life easier to some but all comps really do is help spread info faster. lol and no i won't give up my comp :)
oh.. case in point @ myspace... my friend wanted me to check out her kid's account but i didn't have access as it was set private and i don't use myspace... so my friend gave me the info i needed to see for myself via the kid's account (the acct has been closed btw) but i accidently entered a wrong letter and got someone else's account. i so could of messed up that person's account!! but i left it and never attempted again. it's amazing how being off by one single letter could of proved badly for that other person. and yes they both had the same name just one single letter difference in passwords. scary isn't it!! NEVER EVER KEEP LISTS OF PHONE NUMBERS, ADDRESSES, OR DETAILED INFO ON YOUR COMPUTER!!! buy an address book, that way no one can access it without actually being in your home and snooping.
btw to some of you who have unlisted phone numbers... people can subscribe to a service so they can access unlisted numbers. to those of you thinking of unplugging your landlines and only using cells, i hope you don't have a plan that makes YOU pay for incoming calls/text messages!
just remember, no matter what, if someone calls you, emails you, or sends stuff via snail mail, unless you're the one who asked for info directly from a company, never agree to anything!!! just hang up/don't answer, delete/block, or trash it/recycle it :) plain old common sense! - A Consumer1-000-000-0000 is a spoofing number. Professional Recovery Services (PRS) - http://prsinc.net/ - has used this number. Verizon has also used this number when they call to remind a customer that their bill is due in x number of days.
Some, if not all, local telephone carriers provide a service called Call Intercept that will intercept this number and request the caller identify himself/herself. If they do not identify themselves, the call is disconnected. If they do identify themselves, the call rings through to you and you make the decision to accept, decline or send the call to voice mail. If the caller identifies himself/herself and you don't answer the call, the call is automatically sent to voice mail, assuming you have voice mail through your telephone carrier. You can also block the number if your phone has a call block feature or you may be able to have the number blocked through your telephone carrier. - KATHARINE E. - Wow replies to Most likely its not the company| 3 repliesThere's this cool little key on my keyboard, two over to the right from the "M" key. It's called the "period" key. Too bad your keyboard doesn't have one of those. You should look into getting one, you'll be amazed at how smart those little periods make you look.
