These guys just called me this morning. They have a heavy accent, try to say they are from Microsoft and that my computer is downloading malicious spyware and that they can help me. I'm didn't believe that and kept asking how I know they are from Microsoft, as Microsoft would NOT call me up to tell me that, AND that their number showed up a 000-000-0000 on my caller ID. They insisted they were from Microsoft. I kept asking HOW they could possibly know I had a computer even doing this, and told them there was NO WAY I was going to do anything that would allow them to gain control of my computers remotely. I finally hung up. They have not called back as of yet.

My phone numbers are all on the Do Not Call list. I still keep getting the dumb phone calls from the Credit Card Services people, with "important information about your credit card accounts". It's a recorded call. It comes from various out of state numbers. After dozens of these calls, I finally hung on long enough to speak with a real person and told them our numbers were on the Do Not Call list and before I could utter another syllable, the person promptly and rudely hung up on me! How does one get these folks to stop calling? I get a few of them each week. It's very annoying.

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE HAVE TO GO OUT AND BUY SOMETHING TO STOP THESE CALLS? THAT IS NOT SOLVING THE PROBLEM. I KNOW THESE CALLS ARE SCAMS, BUT BUYING PHONES WON'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THESE CROOKS NEED TO BE IDENTIFIED AND STOPPED. IT IS THEM BREAKING THE LAW, NOT US.

'Knows the Score' .... you are dead on with your assessment. The creeps have zero morals and will stoop to this sort of thing. I've also seen some where the scammer was visciously abusive to people who wrote in to this site.
The creeps have one thing in common....what they write is totally the opposite of what everyone else is saying.. just like Moron.

Got a call from this number 3 days in a row on my cell. Never left a voice mail. Decided to answer today. It was an automated message from my son's school welcoming him back this year and reminding him of what his uniform should consist of. Sheesh! Like we don't know already and why does the number have to come up this way. You know A LOT of the parents are gonna ignore it!

Transfered from our company's main operator, so the 000 number didn't click as a pfishing number until they started the spiel.  Yet another variation on the "I work for Multi-plan" scam.  I just cut him off, gave him our "nothing over the phone, request in writing, etc" and a PO Box, refused to give my name, refused to transfer him back to the operator, and said if they called again we would be forced to forward them to our legal department."  Haven't called back yet, but if they do, it won't be picked up.
    • Caller: Multi-Plan, or so they say

That's a very good idea, FLR. And you're right, it could be, is, actually, more than one scum weasel. I blocked it. Panasonic makes a great phone that allows you to save and block phone numbers. Works very well.

I have received several calls last month, & no one ever left a message, except for today.  In addition to hearing my messages when I check my voice mail, I also receive a transcribed version of the message via e-mail.  According to the transcribed message that I received from the ph# 000-000-0000, the message stated that they were calling from "SallieMae" as a courtesy to remind me about my payment...& then telling me that I could go online to the SallieMae website & select the "manage loans link".  The message also said that if I wanted to hear the message again, I should press 2, if not I should hang up.  In the past when SallieMae has called me I have seen a ph#, & sometimes "SallieMae" as appeared in the Caller ID as the name of the company.  This is the first time I have seen them attached to the 000-000-0000 ph#.

Hi, I keep getting phone calls from this number 000-000-0000, my caller ID shows "unavailable". My telephone service has the option of blocking a phone call, however whenever I try to block this number, it won't let me block it. It states that this is not a real phone number. I am scared that this might be a scam, where my phone might be charged with a long destination call, which cost a lot of money. This number calls at least 3 times a day, when I answer, no one is there and I hang up. Could you please tell me how to block them or how to put them on a do not call list?  I am also on the National do not call list.

Hi, I just sent a report on the number 000-000-0000 which shows up on my caller ID as unavailable. This happens about 3 times a day, when i answer there is no one on the line.  Just like it was today, this number was followed by the following number. When I check this number on reverse look up it shows up as being a cell phone number from Montana (Sidney) Richland County 406-478-2356. Once again there is no one on the line, and no only am I tried of this, I am worried that this might be a possible scam to place charges on my home phone number. Could you please look into this for me, Thank you

I received calls from this obviously fake number in the past...someone, most likely an fake debt collection scammer from India, will most likely try to scam you if you ever answer when you see this number.   Theres a wealth of info about the Indian Fake Payday Loan scam on this site. They may say they are law officers, detectives, sheriffs,  or god only knows what else if you ever answer.  They are none of these, and are simply trying to scare you enough to scam you.  Using some VOIP tools, its easy to mask a phone number and change it to whatever you want (such as 000-000-0000, or even 911), so best solution is to change your number if possible.  It was the only way I ever got the calls to stop.

Report a phone call from 000-000-0000:

The company that called you.
