Wanted to connect to my computer said I call to have them. NEVER called don't know who they are

Had a call on July 28th 2010 from this number, the same spiel as a lot of you have reported:  man with a heavy Indian accent telling me I've won a $200 Walmart card and a $25 gas card.  I've gotten calls like this before from numbers with a blocked caller ID, but this was the first time I've had this scam come from an identifiable number.  In a previous phone call I tried to get the guy to tell me how he'd gotten my number, and he said it came from their [imaginary] Records Department and that he didn't know, so I told him to go ask them and I'd wait until he let me know, but as expected he mostly ignored my query and went on with his spiel.

I actually hope they call again, this time I'll try to string them along as long as possible to waste their time and have a little fun!  Maybe along the lines of "Oh yes, I'd love to give you my credit card information, let me go get it..." and just put the phone down.

Called today.  Didn't recognize name (New Jersey) or number so let it go to voice mail.  Operating saying to hold for next operator, then some foreign man comes on and says Alisha, Alisha, Alisha, then hangs up.  Who are these fools and why can't someone make them stop calling me?

Someone called me saying they are calling from true roots...he had an Indian accent and knew about my cell phone type...and asked if I wanted to update the software that allows me to place direct calls overseas...I checked the software and that was up to date...so that caller had some info correct but the message was wrong...not sure who it was

I've gotten two calls from this #, both when working my computer and believe something on my PC triggered it, yet my virus scans are upto date.  The second call, I talked a few minutes as I was very suspicious.  After a couple of minutes, I asked if I could record the call, he said I could then hung up.

I got a call from 201-200-9999, don't know who it was, I didn't answer it looked suspicious. Just want to share this warning.

A man with an Indian accent called and told me that my computer was uploading malicious files and that I had a virus in my hard drive.  He then proceeded to ask me what operating system I was using.  When I refused to give him any information he got upset.  I then hung up.

I got a call from this Hindu guy and asking for my information and saying that I've access a website that is harming my computers. I told the guy that I don't even have internet access. He then try to hang up on me but I questioned him that if when I do get internet access and I at harm.  He then said yes, and will call me back when I get it. I'd asked him when do you know to call me back, he said that he'll call me everyday until I get it and then will need my info.  I told him if this is serious then how come I don't get this call at my work about my computers at work.  He then just hung up on me.

I received the call 7/28/10 2:52 p.m. from a male with undecipherable English (didn't sound like Indian,  European or any Asian language) asking for me by name.  After considerable effort and questioning on my part (continually saying "I can't understand you"), I figured out he was telling me he was calling from Microsoft tech support because they detected my computer had downloaded unauthorized software (NOT). He said he had tech support on the line.  I was unable to get him to tell me where he was calling from (what company) but he did say "New York City". When I said "did you say you are calling from New York City?" he only mumbled.  It sounded like he was on drugs, slurring and talking gibberish. I could hear other voices in the background that sounded the same on other phones.  I asked for a supervisor and he mumbled and spoke to another person (undecipherable), who came on the phone with an abrupt "Hello?".  I said I was completely unable to understand the caller and wanted to know why they were calling me.  Again, mumbling between the two men and the phone was disconnected.  The odd part is, that my computer had just (within a week) been revived from a complete operating system crash due to a virus.  *69 said the number was unlisted in New Jersey.

A man called me  from 210-200-9999 and kept saying, "You have a computer, correct?" When I asked what company he was with he said, "iFixo and we are a partner with Microsoft".

Once I saw the website and realized it was all shady I said, "I can't understand you, I don't know how you got my number, but take me off your call list" He muttered something in a foreign language and hung up.

Received a call from this number this evening.  Caller ID just said JerseyCity NJ 201-200-9999.  Person on the other end had a very thick accent and I think he said he had information about a virus protector.  I told him I wasn't interested and hung up.

called saying there was a law suit against me and i needed to work with them.  i told them they were lying, committing fraud, if they caleld back, I'd record the call and send it to the police.  She sounded carribean...lots of talking in the background.

Calls me occasionally... never leave message... i've never answered

I got a call from this number.  A man with a heavy accent wanted me to run eventvwr on my computer to see if it was infected.  I wrote most of what he was saying down. It seemed fishy and underhanded. He said he was from windows

I got the same call except the price was lower they were offring the free walmart gift card for 1.95 shipping all I had to do is give them my credit card number.  I asked where they were calling from they said arkanas, I asked for the address and phone number so I could call them back, he gave me 888-537-5503.

Have recieved secveral calls from this number.  A man named Kevin claaims to work for windows and says my security code is expired.  Says that hackers have taken control of my comouter and the comuter may crsh anytime and be nrecoverealbe.   Offeres to sell me a new warrenty and has several packages availab le.

Instructiosn to determine mal ware are:
go to start - run- eventvwr  all yellow and red are malicious files.  D not click on them.  GO to start run ins   this file is gone  it means that hackers have taken control of your computer.

Remember these were his instructions.

I talked for a while and he was  very very pushy,  Just do it jsut do it!!!f
The first time he called I informed him not interested, ut he ahs called back several times nad keeps seeming to give me more info each time.  He states that he is in New Jersy somewhere.   This  really does not sound legit in any way  be very careful   also has called from 201-200-9999 and 973-735-0021
He stats that his employer is "Windows Operating System"

Got a call from a Mexican just a couple of minutes ago. He asked to speak with Nanomi. I told him no, which is the truth. He then said that this call is being recorded, then I hung up on him.

received call from 201-200-9999 at 1039 am on 8/11/10. ID says New Jersey. Did not answer. No voicemail left

My son just got a call from this number and I told my daughter not to answer his phone because of the number.  Thank goodness my son was at home when the call came through.  We teach our children not to give info over the phone, but who knows what he would have said if they offered a big gift card from Wal-Mart?!?

Got a call today too. Just dead air, no talking. Return call didn't connect.
