- AbdoulThis phone keeps calling me and every time I pick up, they hang up on me without even saying a word. Initially, they told me I have won $7,800 government grant money. They want me to pay a fee of $195 in order for them to process my grant money.
- CarlosI was called by this number (202) 000-1111 twice. It was a woman with a rough accent named Jennifer. She said I was selected from Washington DC to earn 9,000 dollars and gave me three option. Debit, Master Visa and/or Money Gram. I told her why and she state that I didn't have any criminal records and my credit was qualified for the grand from the government. I didn't know about this website until after I gave her my information. I was told that I can speak to her manager to ask how I want the money delivered and it did not cost me anything. She provided me a number 202-657-6018 with a confirmation number MA155 and said to call right after I hung up. I didn't because I had to find out more. So I'm going to go with its a scam and I made a mistake, so I'm here to let everyone know. I didn't proceed to call, because I figured if it were to be true, I'd rather find my own way to make the money and not risk my identity being stolen. I hope this helped. Be careful with weird phone calls nowadays.
- Caller: Washington DC
- Carlos replies to HollyThat's exactly what happened to me, but I didn't call back to give them the confirmation number. It was just too risky and I already gave them enough information they needed to know. I was very caution with them trying to find out anymore info. Thank you because this definitely helped, I just wish I'd looked this up before answering the number (202) 000-1111.

- Waste their timeI finally answered and the man on the other end said "I need your help". I asked "With what?" He said that he needed money for food. So I told him "Me too!" I had him going for about 3 minutes back and forth about how if he gave me the dollar he needed I would give it back to him. Then I told him that he didn't need to worry about food because I report him to the FBI and they would feed him 3 meals a day. He told me that he didn't care if I report him and to F myself. I said "Yeah, I don't think so" and I proceeded to laugh really loud into my cell phone. He hung up. Now, I am sad. . . . not.
Best thing to do is, not answer or waste their time and laugh about it. - Nena| 1 replyThis jerk, keeps calling 2-3. Times daily, most of the time I don't answer, few times I told him that this is a scam....NO, NO ,NO HE SAID, THEN WE STARTED TO ARGUE, THEN I WOULD HANG UP, HE IS STILL CALLING.......
- Roberta KellyI have been receiving calls from 202-000-1111. They do not leave a message, but I would like my number blocked.
- bob replies to NenaCaution, 202-000-1111 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain, but they failed... you can still file a complaint here to fight back against unethical telemarketers.
- sheilaI just got a call from this number the man said hi I'm Robert and I'm from the US Grant service I said oh yeah and what grant would that be he said oh oh sorry I have the wrong number and hung up
- Caller: us grant
- J. NagyI just got a call from 202-000-1111 claiming I was entitled to a $9,000.00 grant from the federal government no strings attached no responsibility of paying it back (in more or less words) I responded saying " that sounds inaccurate to me, but perhaps you can further explain" click she hung up. When I initially answered it rang like I made the call from my cell otherwise I would have been less suspicious. My guess is they have an automated calling system that when answered redirects to "a federal agent" when answered. This seems highly illegal. I could use 9 grand but I don't necessarily need a hand out or exactly that sum... I can't verify that it is a scam but I never filed anything with any department of the federal government so I'll just wait until I'm entitled to the money or earn it no harm no foul be safe and cautious when receiving calls from this number or others with similar approaches.
- Caller: The federal government

- timI keep getting calls from this number so I decided to pay along. I told the lady I was on the toilet because I had some Mexican food that didnt agree with me...she certainly understood my situation though it was awkward...I made her suffer through a simulated bowel movement as she explained that I get 10k from the grant dept. Naturally I'm delighted that I'm getting this money and of course I'm aroused...that's when the convo got super awkward..
- melissaReceived a call from this number. Said government was giving me free grant money, $9000. He wanted my name, couldn't tell me what it was but he wanted to verify it? I asked him his, Michael Brown, I doubt it. I said I was not comfortable giving my name and was told it would be my loss. Said he was calling from 123 William St NY ( Social Security Admin office in NYC), I even asked what floor and he said 3rd. I asked if I called the number listed online for this office and asked for him would I be able to reach him and he said yes, then hung up on me.
