- TammyI knew it was a scam because they called on Martin Luther King day. Everyone knows the government is off and not working.

- grannybI had a lot of fun with this guy. I tried to play along with his game until I finally broke out laughing. He said "do you think this is a joke?" I said yes and we continued to chat about 10 more minutes. He wanted me to tell him jokes and stories! He even wanted to call me back tomorrow. I said NO, please don't! If he calls again I will block the number, but I like wasting these guys time whenever I get the chance. Oh, I almost forgot to mention......he had very heavy accent although it did not sound quite Indian or Pakistani. Said the government wanted to give me $9,000. Oh if only it were true........:)
- FrankoHave them blocked, but still get hits on the phone 2/3 times a day. Hope is that someone will shut them down, it is a nuisance that we won't miss if their wire is cut.

- LauraThis is the fourth different number from the 202 area code that called me and hung up when it went to voicemail. They're all already reported as fraudulent calls and I just keep ignoring the calls and blocking the numbers but this is getting ridiculous, 000-1111 is so obviously a fake number they just keep making them up to spam people. On the national DNC list but of course they don't care. I'm going to have to jailbreak my phone so I can get an app that blocks all numbers from an area code because all these calls lately are 202. I haven't had this problem until this year started but I've had a few missed calls from different area codes in last couple months and they all hang up at the voicemail so I assume they're all spammers.

- C. FoxA middle east sounding girl who called herself "Katie Miller" said I got a government grant of $9,200. They got my name (sort of) correct, and gave me a code number of GG533 and the phone #: 206-2091637 to call them for "verify" who I am. They didn't know my middle name, and I told them- "If this is the U.S. Government, you would know my middle name." She just kept following her little instruction card and kept telling me to "call immediately"! Yeah right! Of course I didn't call it!

- glory2018 replies to Pissed offBeen getting calls from 202-202-9110 about U.S. Govt Grant. Of course, accent is to heavy you can hardly understand. Got one at 2:04 a.m. this morning from same number in Dist of Columbia. When you call back, get recording that nbr cannot be dialed as entered. I am so tired of these stupid people.

- Anonymously irritatedThis number had been calling me every couple of days for a few weeks. Today they called twice, everytime with a different foreign accent, calling "in the behalf of the government", in a very noisy call center. The first time was a man with an accent I couldn't identify with a deep drawling voice. I was being offered a $1000 grant. I simply said no thanks and hung up and they've been calling me ever since. I told them today they had the wrong number in hopes of them leaving me alone. I'm really suck of strangers knowing my name and calling me with unsolicited offers.
