- JACOBS ENGRTODAY i RECEIVE A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER ASKING FOR MONEY 20 407-9056
THEY SAY IS A GOVERMANT GRANT. - Toddit's sad there are so many scams to prey on desperate people who are at their wit's end. All I can say is nobody is going to call you out of the blue offering to give you money, or get you a government grant for thousands of dollars, etc.
I've been taken in before too- and I know now that if you want to make money, you have to bust your tail- there is no free lunch in this world. I guarantee you Donald Trump and Jerry Jones didn't wait for someone to call them and promise to give them money for nothing. - WVDALGALI received a call from this number only mine was $7000. He asked me to verify zip code. I said it was one of them. I asked him to give me the address that goes with this. He wouldn't. He asked me how I wanted the money and he could hardly said cash. I asked him to spell it, he did, then he asked me for info. I wanted to see how he would deliver cash. Then I asked another question and I bet someone was listening in, because he then hung up on me. Number showed Washington DC area.
I asked him to spell his company name - received nothing.
Asked for company address - when he hung up.- Caller: Sen......
- FortWorthTxCaller said some garbage about receiving cash if I would send $199., his/her spill was a gov't grant of sorts. I asked him/her questions about the program and he said that in order to proceed further I would need to send this money ASAP thru western union. What a load of bull. So, my next question was the business address and they hung up on me. How nice!! 2 minutes later I received a call from a psychic claiming how there were people trying to scam me and she could help.LOLOL! This had to be the same people trying a different approach coercing money from me. What a dispicable, dishonest group of individuals. I told them I was reporting them as soon as I hung up the phone. Careful people.

- Frank AdamsThanks all for these helpful posts and I would add one more comment to these callers comments. I really believe this psychic business is in Garland or Dallas, Tx. The number on my phone pouted to a business on Northwest Hwy. in Garland. Psychic Readings was one of the names we were able to discover through a friends security business. Good luck to all involved with these psychic psycho's

- CynthiaI got a call today from a man whose accent was so bad that I could not understand what he said his name was. He was calling about my qualifying for a $9,000 grant from the government. He said that the government was doing a survey on only a selected 1700 families in the state that I live in and my name was selected. Considering I never signed up for anything like this, I immediately thought "SCAM". He never got the chance to ask me for any money because my husband took the phone and started asking questions about his location, and etc so the man hung up. I then looked the number up online and found the 202-407-9056 number tied into a lot of scams and complaints.
People are looking to make money anyway they can. And apparently scamming people seems to be the easiest way. It is sad but true. We need to be very careful when people call us out of the blue and tell us that we've won something or that we've been selected for something that is accompanied with "first you must pay this small fee of...". It is always a scam.- Caller: A Federal Government Agency

- FrancisI got a call on 202-407-9056 from someone with a very thick accent telling me that I qualified for a grant of 9,000 from the government because I was one of 1700 people that qualified due to being in good standing, tax payer, no record etc. They asked to "confirm" my contact info which I provided (only what anyone can obtain w/o asking me anyway) . They then gave me a "grant claim number" and another phone number to follow up with for further instructions to claim my grant. The number they provided was 202-697-9374 and the contact name I was given was "Claudia Smith". I then called that number and made contact with "Claudia Smith" who repeated the same information the other gentleman gave me on the other line. She then asked how I preferred to receive the money via my bank account, visa or master card, or cash. When I selected cash she informed me to go to any Western Union to deposit $220 to verify my account and that $9220 would be returned to me once verified. She told me when I did this I would need to stay on the line with her to complete the transaction. I told her I would not have that amount available for a few weeks. She told me to call her back at that number to complete the transfer when I had the money available to transfer. I have no intention of calling back as I am not aware of any government programs in which the person on the receiving end does not have to take pro-active steps to apply before an offer is made nor am I aware of any programs that require you to put money upfront for verification. It is customary that when one is offered a grant it is because they took steps to apply for it and they are provided with a check or a card linked to an account furnished by the government for that purpose. Logic would dictate that if it takes a bunch of beuracratic red tape and weeks of waiting for assistance such as food stamps and unemployment, why would free money that for many is a few months salary be as easy as a phone call.
- CINDY BOWENI get many calls from this number claiming to be given a government grant. All I have to do is go to western union and send them a money order.
