202-407-9056 Calling again to tell me I am able to get a government grant in the amount that I want. The guy asks for how I want the money, I simply say cash and he gives me a number to call. I have to tell you, this is a scam, do not give out your checking or savings information. The government grant business of $10k from Obama is over. It end in 2010. I highly recommend you calling your cell phone or land line service provider and tell them the numbers you wish to block from your phone. Also tell your cell service you do not want them to publish your cellular number at any time.

I got the same call today from the same number

I didn't speak right away cuz I didn't know that number and they hung up on me..

Just received a call from them, said I was going to get a 9000 grant. They would send it western union. Sweet cant wait to spend my money.

I wonder if this is the same person that called me numerous times from Washington telling me the IRS was after me!!!!

I just get this call today but i don t. Answer strange number, I. Just answer when is too many calls. Be careful.

i keep getting calls for the same thing here at work.  However,  The United States Government does NOT give grants to individuals they never have and never will.  Whether on the phone or by mail.  Unless you have filed paperwork yourself for a grant, usually for a foundation, or research of some sort, the grant will not be issued.  Does no one actually look at the news, where the country has been put into default and yet people still think they are giving out free money?  

These groups rely on people not knowing the rules of the govenment.  I have applied for our University research projects here numerous times for grants and they are not easy to get and most get turned down the first round.  
So what makes people think the US is going to give out grants to individuals without them submitting paperwork and begging for the funds?  
Common sense will tell you this.  and if you have to pay for something before you get it... Tell them to take the fee out of the grant and send you the rest?  Makes sense doesnt it?  If they have money for you, then they can take the 99.00 fee out of that and mail you a check for the balance.  Common Sense sometimes escapes people but i have faith things will get better.

I had numerous calls ftom the. Number 202-407-9056. And the man keeps threatening me.

Whomever owns this number called today asking for my minor daughter. I told them to stop calling. They told me they were her 'friend'. I mentioned that that was odd because it sounded like they were calling from a call center. Then I asked him his name, he said David. So I told him that ok, that we are going to find out if he was lying. I asked my daughter if she new a David- she said No. I told the man he was lying and do not call my house again.
So, yea whoever these scammers are will lie to you to talk to whoever they want to talk to.  

I got a call on the 29th at 11:29 am and i wasn't home so it was left on my answering machine. i heard someone talk then i heard Barbra F&*k you Barbara, it scared the hell out of me i called my phone back and it says the number was disconnected and no longer in service and the area code was in washington. but doesn't mean it was in washington to make the call. it freaked me out enough to by protection, I have an unlisted number i dont know how they got ahold of it. I still have the message

These scammers keep calling and have been rude and harassing.

SCAMMER: Okay Mr. Mark, you been chosen by the government for a $9,000 grant and I need to verify your information.
           ME: I don't believe you
SCAMMER: He starts trying to verify my address with me...
            ME: If you're really doing this on behalf of the government, you don't need to verify my information, they already have it
SCAMMER: We have to verify the information to make certain that you are the right person...
            ME: Again, I don't believe you, but go ahead...I'm listening....
SCAMMER: starts trying to verify my information with me...
            ME: I'm not going to answer those questions because I don't believe your doing this on behalf of the U.S. Government
SCAMMER: Uh, okay, good bye then...and hangs up

2 MINUTES LATER
SCAMMER: yes, the same Scammer calls back, pissed off and emphatically says "F _ CK YOU!"
            ME: I laugh and suggest he hang up and crawl back under the rock he came from.

BEST GUESS: I think this is the same company that tried to call my daughter posing as the IRS saying that she owed the government money and that she must pay right away, etc. I'm not sure, but I think they are Pakistanis who alter the caller ID to make it look as though they are calling from Washington, DC - which of course is a 202 area code.  

This guy with a thick accent called and said the government wanted to give me 9000.00 for being a good person lol I was laughing then he asked me my age and I told him old enough to know better, then he said he wantedme to call this number and he was gonna transfer me then h hung up . These people need to stop this is a waste of time, especially when people are at work nd don't have time for this mess.

Well they didn't get my money thanks to all you guys, but the sad thing is, is that their STILL out there scamming people :-( hopefully nobody falls for this

I receives  a call saying I was pick for a  prize of some sort through the US Federal Government. I said really the Feds don't handle business in this order sir and I will have to check this out because it sounds like a SCAM . James continued to try to speak English and convince me I won when I said I am Lt.Morris with the sheriff department he rung the phone up.

I can't believe you people who have sent them money. Seriously. Use common sense for once in your life!

I thank God for this website  they have saved me from the hassle and b.s. of even being trapped on the phone with these morons. I don't take calls from strange numbers. I look them up always on this website and have been disgusted that people like this exist. I feel so bad for the people who buy into their rubbish. They call me several times a day. Different numbers same scam. I am grateful for everyone who has taken the time to report on this website so we all can b safe.
